It's easy for a restaurant to claim that they have the best chicken wings in Miami, but on March 8, you will be the judge.
The BankUnited Center will host WingFest -- a sampling of chicken wings from establishments across South Florida -- prior to the men's basketball game vs. Wake Forest. For just $22, fans will receive a game ticket plus the ability to eat wings from the following locations:
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Sports Grill
- Bru's Room
- Kings Creek Village
- Chicks N Wings
- Hooters
- Carolina Ale House
- House of Wings
- Bokampers
- Plus more establishments to be added later
WingFest will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the BankUnited Center and will begin at Noon. A cash bar will also be available. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. To purchase tickets, click the link below and use the promo code, WING.

And IMO, the best wings come from those food trucks on the side of the road. I like mines fried country style, never been a fan of drenching wings in sauce. Just a lil' dose of Louisiana hot sauce does it for me.
Posted by: CaneRock | February 28, 2014 at 10:44 AM
MMMMM, nothing like wings n beer. Different sauces at BWW are legit. Flannigans is also a top choice for me. Might have to make it out and try the others.

Blu himself said Gray could be a Pro Bowl NFL running back. Would be awesome if he can make it in.... BUT.... I thought the staff recruited him as a WR? Could alway switch anyway, but I dont think Gray is the cause of the switch. Would be nice to be wrong about it though.
Posted by: UMike | February 28, 2014 at 10:58 AM
Well said Rock! 30Cinco exactly nothing like wings and beer. My favorite wings are the Daytons Beach Wings at Hooters. A Sam Adams Draft, and well nice talent serving me is very ideal.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM
Gray should be a RB at UM. I believe we recruited him at WR though.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 28, 2014 at 11:11 AM
Ive never drank beer... but I do love me some wings lol
Posted by: UMike | February 28, 2014 at 11:13 AM
IMO, a RB, is a QB, moving forward. What I mean is, a QB has to read coverages & coverage convergences moving BACKWARDS, while a RB has to read coverages & coverage convergences moving FORWARD. Some guys (Johnson & Yearby) choose to run AROUND the coverage, and others choose to run THROUGH it. Most RB coaches teach RBs how to get thru the line, but most of em' don't really teach the RB what to do when He get beyond the line =s...that's where talent takes over. In any event, Gus has some good feet for a big man.
And as far as comparisons go, Edwards is a bigger version of another NYer we had...Stephen McGuire.

UMike, you've never drank beer?!
Posted by: CaneRock | February 28, 2014 at 11:19 AM
I mean, I have when I was young, but I have just never liked the taste. My grandfather was a drunk and beat my grandmother and I hated those stories, but mostly I hated the taste. I did sip on some "special brew" back in the day while blazin though lol
Posted by: UMike | February 28, 2014 at 11:21 AM
To me any alcohol beverage taste nasty...same with coffee... if isnt a shot of cuban coffee, I cant drink it lol
Posted by: UMike | February 28, 2014 at 11:23 AM
Trayon Gray?...I don't think they'll be wrong where ever they put em', but I'd prefer Him at WR. Him,Coley, & Berrios would be MURDER! in a trips set...MURDER! I tell ya'!

When I was young, my dad gave me some warm budwiser to taste, thought it was the worst thing EVER (his intention), didnt have beer until I was an adult. Was hanging out in the beach, someone handed me an ice cold corona with a lime, was hooked. Throw in some spicy wings, cant beat it.

The essence of good garlic wings: real garlic None of that garlic powder crap. Any place that serves uses garlic powder doesn't care about their wings. IJS

Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 28, 2014 at 12:32 PM
1. Best Wings....Harold's Chicken (Chicago,IL)
2. I personally prefer a dry rub on any meat over a sauce...I wanna taste the flavor and not be saucy, sauce covers up imperfections.
3. Beer is the BEST marinate in the world..
4. I like Henn > Vodka ... but Vodka is not bad..

^^^^^^^^^^^ My bad Terrance, I just saw this..."I think I might go to Bob Baumhowers Wings restaurant here in the MGM and get me some Jamaican Jerk Wings Hot."
I forgot MGM, meant Montgomery.

Drover's wings in Wellsburg, WV are the best in the country!
My favorite beers: Yuengling and Magic Hat #9
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 28, 2014 at 12:45 PM
But Terrance, real talk, them 305 girls loooooove some cats from outta town, ESPECIALLY! the country. I remember when the Olympics were in Atlanta, I bought a buncha Olympic t-shirts, and I can't tell you how much play those t-shirts got me. Now I told the truth and said I was from Miami, but that right there told me 305 girls looooooove some country cats LMAO! Also, my homeboy from Greenville,Alabama used to get some MAD! love. We go to the club fresh to def, NO ACTION!...He goes to the club with some tight ass Wranglers/Rustlers and an ole t-shirt...MUCHO PLAY!
Posted by: CaneRock | February 28, 2014 at 12:47 PM
RCCF try the wings at RJ Grunts in Lincoln Park. Best wings! Big and meaty. Plus good wing sauce. Craving them right now.

LOL Rock Yea Greenville,Al. is in the Montgomery TV/Radio Market its about 40 miles southwest of me. LOL but the girls from the bottom tell me that I know too much about the bottom so unfortunately for me I dont get much play. besides me rocking tight Wranglers/Rustlers and an ole t-shirt is no bueno for me. I am more of a polo shirt/Dockers kind of guy who smokes cigars, talk plenty of ish, drinks beer, eat wings, So i think I throw women from the Bottom off LOL, I am a cross between South Floridian and Central Alabamaian. But U got me in tears laughing though. Yea I can definitely see someone from Greenville,Al. rocking that attire lol.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 28, 2014 at 01:08 PM
K, if you live in Miami and don't go to that event, you may need your head checked.
Posted by: The Dude | February 28, 2014 at 01:08 PM
Only T-Shirts I rock are Canes T-shirts,and wrestling T-Shirts with jeans other than that business casual lol. When I come down for the Duke game we all got to get up and kick it.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 28, 2014 at 01:10 PM
So many great wings out there. Personally my beer of choice with wings is Pilsner Urquell.

Rock U are spot on though. No doubt!

I would love to see Gray at RB. But he won't be there for the Spring will he? I thought he was a Fall kid. The timing of the Crawford move seems weird. I hope the staff isn't moving Dallas to provide a spark, that's something Mark should be able to do.
Posted by: The Dude | February 28, 2014 at 01:17 PM
My wife makes killer wings.
Posted by: The Dude | February 28, 2014 at 01:18 PM
Dude, Gray (if he qualifies) would be at UM in Summer 1. So yeah, no Spring.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 28, 2014 at 01:18 PM
See O_C, the timing... it doesn't make sense. They're gonna have to RS Gus for the Spring Game.
Posted by: The Dude | February 28, 2014 at 01:19 PM
Unless they plan on Portis and Edge getting most of the carries this Spring?
Posted by: The Dude | February 28, 2014 at 01:21 PM
It looks like Gus, Tucker and 2 walk-ons getting all the carries for Spring.
Although it does make the most sense from Dallas' side to switch now. He needs a full Spring, Summer and Fall to get re-acclimated at DB.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 28, 2014 at 01:23 PM
I hope everything works out for Miami/Dallas. I don't love the move though. I thought Dallas was reliable at RB. He's not explosive, but you can trust him.

I am intrigued with who will be our starting QB, Punter, Middle Linebacker, NG, OL? What position battles intrigue u all?
