Larry Blustein is widely recognized as the unquestioned expert on high school football recruiting in South Florida. The talented writer can be found at www.sfhighschoolsports.com and also at the Miami Herald commenting about and promoting local high school athletes at every level.
For decades Blustein has been considered as the "go to" guy when it comes to identifying talent in "The Bottom", a three county area in South Florida that includes the highly fertile recruiting grounds of the 305, 954 and 561 area codes of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Recently, "Blu" as he is known locally, released his Top 100 rankings for the 2015 class. 2014 nonconference skeds:
MIAMI: *Florida A&M (3-9), Arkansas State (8-5), at Nebraska (9-4), Cincinnati (9-4)
Opponents’ 2013 combined winning percentage: .569
Toughest opponent: Nebraska
Weakest opponent: Florida A&M
2013 bowl teams: 3
Quick take: Miami has another daunting nonconference schedule this year. Traveling to Lincoln, Neb., will be difficult, while Arkansas State and Cincinnati have been bowl teams for years now. Arkansas State presents a high-powered spread offense that is always difficult to defend, and new coach Blake Anderson has a familiarity with the Canes from his days as North Carolina offensive coordinator. Cincinnati got blown out in the bowl game, but the Bearcats are not going to be a cakewalk. It would be unrealistic to expect a sweep of all these games. Going 3-1 would be a big win.

Rosier, a three-star recruit by most services, signed his UM football scholarship papers last Wednesday. And just like Thompson, he took only one official football visit — to UM — while he was being recruited.
“His family was, ‘If you know Miami is where you’re going, we don’t think it’s very respectful to the University of Miami to visit somewhere else,’” Faith Academy football coach Rusty Mason said.
Said Rosier: “Once I committed, I knew I was going there. I couldn’t wait to sign the papers and be a Miami Hurricane.”
Miami was where it began and ended for Rosier, an outgoing, confident, talkative young man who said he knew since he “was a kid, born and raised a Miami fan,” that Coral Gables was his dream destination.

QB: 1-2
RB: 2*
WR: 2-3
TE: 2*
OL: 3-4
DL: 4-5
LB: 2-3
CB/S: 3-5

12 seniors leaving barring an extra year.
QB - (1)Ryan Williams
WR - (2)Phillip Dorsett , Rashawn Scott
TE - (2)Clive Walford , Beau Sandland
OL - (2)Shane McDermott , Jon Feliciano
DL - (3)David Perry , Anthony Chickillo ,Olsen Pierre
LB - (1) Denzel Perryman
DB - (1) Ladarius Gunter
Possibly Duke Johnson, Tracy Howard ,& Ereck Flowers
So up 15 possibly leaving.
If we are at 82 now, we could sign 15-18. Jumping on OC's post, I would hope we can replace the positions leaving, focusing on the higher end of RB, OL, and DB positions.

Well, Richie Incognito is worth the follow today LOL
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 37m
I'm ready to move on with my life and career. I've been dragged through the mud for months by my "best friend". #betrayed #railroaded
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 31m
Dear Jon Martin..... The truth is going to bury you and your entire "camp". You could have told the truth the entire time.
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 15m
Jon Martin---you started all of this when Kenny Zuckerman released the VM to ESPN. The same VM we joked about with @brianhartline
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 14m
Kenny Zuckerman from Priority Sports.... What do you have to say for your actions? Why did you release the VM. What was your goal ?
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 13m
I'm guilty of being a loyal friend and good teammate. I apologize for my poor language and rude remarks. I've never denied it.
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 10m
I apologize to all of the women out there that I offended with my text messages to my close personal friend.
Richie Incognito @68INCOGNITO 3m
FACT: Jonathan Martin told me he thought about taking his own life in MAY 2013 b/c he wasn't playing well. Told me he felt worthless.

Raize,
Have you ever heard of the "Pansy Elk Herd" up here in Idaho?
They're an unusual bunch. The hang out much of the year in the areas around Island Park, near the MT border, not far from Yellowstone National Park. However, when the first snow comes, they hightail it down to the St. Anthony sand dunes and ride out the winter there. There's very little snow in that one specific area, hence the desert sand dunes. The herd is pretty well known around here. People drive to the sand dunes (about 45 minutes from my house) to go see them in winter.

O_C,
With such a small class I can only see 1 QB making sense. 2015 we will have Kaaya, Olsen, Crow and Rosier. Unless we have a transfer, I can't see us having 6 scholarship QBs.

Dude, tbh I said "1-2" because I know Golden likes to keep a stable of QBs. I think I remember an interview of his saying he'd prefer to have 6 (might have said 7) QB's on scholarship.
I could be wrong though. 1 makes sense to me, but I don't know for sure.

More signs offenses have taken over college football. If they are implementing rules to slow it down, you know the advantage has shifted to one side of the ball:
Joe Schad @schadjoe 4m
NCAA football rules committee proposes offense can't snap the ball until play clock reaches 29 seconds or less. Would reduce total plays.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 12, 2014 at 05:17 PM
Go Canes---interesting proposal. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I really don't find the current "last guy with the ball wins" type of football very interesting.
Posted by: Mountain Cane | February 12, 2014 at 05:30 PM
I like it now that if an offense can go quickly, the defense needs to adjust quickly. Be ready by the time they snap it, or else. Not a fan of the rule change if it passes
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 12, 2014 at 05:43 PM
I am a fan of good offense that can sustain drives what good is it to try to rush if U are going 3 and out just to put your defense on the field entirely too damn long i.e. 2012 and 2013 Miami Hurricanes especially 2013 where our 3rd down conversion rate was beyond awful and time of possession was beyond awful(Rolls Eyes).
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 12, 2014 at 05:53 PM
Its funny how old school punch U in the football teams are usually winning the titles and at the end of the day thats what counts and all these fancy teams with fancy uniforms, gets cats hopes up only to break your heart if U allow it. Fast Paced Offense is what I call the Big Tease. No Bueno.
