Soup Yes Sir
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | March 13, 2014 at 04:44 PM
Sam was a bust, I'm sure he'll admit because of his own immaturity.
So happy for him he finally found the maturity to go with his incredible god given physical talent and has blossomed into such a great player.

That's a freaking huge hog SOUP and a whole lot of bacon. I was glad to read the HUNTER tracked it himself. We've had some contraversy up here in Idaho with a record elk. A guy was paying three trackers 90k to track the elk for most of the year so he could show up and pull the trigger. A lot of people have been giving the guy sh!t. I'd be curious to know if that hog has a growing disorder. The elk up here did. When they butchered it there were some growing deformation in the heart and lungs and such.

I don't think Sam was a bust. He played out of position for a long time. He had a solid senior year. That kick return reverse was freakin sweet. His "issues" whatever they were kept him from being as productive as he could have been, but I think the word bust should be reserved for the truly bad, like Ryan Leaf. Did you guys know he's in prison right now?

@ChristyChirinos: #Canes CB Artie Burns missed the first week of spring practice...because he's chasing down a national track title: http://t.co/Xt2zybIHxj

To add on to Soup's comment.
We Back should not be uttered until all of the following happens:
1.Win the ACC Coastal and play for ACC Title in Charlotte.
2.Win our Bowl Game that year.
3.Win 10 plus games that year(If Our Canes cant go at least 10-4 or 11-3).
When those 3 things happen we can start to have the conversation on if we are back until that time. Come On Man!

Getting settled in with Canes Bball tonight. Get out of football tunnel vision and enjoy Coach L's squad. This years team is mediocre at best yet still managed to win 17 games and 7 in conference.....and they are fun to watch or listen too.
This years group of scrubs are a products of the best basketball coaching job we've seen at Miami in years.
Look forward to Coach L for another decade.
Posted by: Rand Stevens | March 13, 2014 at 07:02 PM
I wouldnt call Rion Brown a scrub lol but I get your point.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | March 13, 2014 at 07:10 PM
I don't think Sam was a bust. He played out of position for a long time. He had a solid senior year.
Posted by: The Dude | March 13, 2014 at 05:30 PM
I agree...when you're running routes for Kyle Wright & Kirby Freeman...and your HC is trying to convince the other team that Brian Monroe is a threat, then yeah, that can be a traumatic experience for ANY freshman LMAO!
Posted by: CaneRock | March 13, 2014 at 07:39 PM
So ANY Cane past or present that doesn't win OR at least play 4 a title should be considered a " BUST"?
Posted by: 4-Real | March 13, 2014 at 07:41 PM
And Shields was a BEAST! on special teams, one of the best gunners to ever come through UM. And that's saying a lot, for a guy who only played that position His Senior year.
Posted by: CaneRock | March 13, 2014 at 07:52 PM
He was a bust at wr, not db his final year. And I agree, dude was always the first one to the returner it seemed. SS does not equal bust. See willie Williams, lance legget, Robert Kirby freeman, etc. Sam left on a positive note.
Posted by: Canezitis | March 13, 2014 at 07:58 PM
Posted by: CaneRock | March 13, 2014 at 07:52 PM
Sam was an impact gunner. We should ALWAYS be that good at gunner.
Willie Williams is the ultimate bust player.
Posted by: The Dude | March 13, 2014 at 08:42 PM
Posted by: Canezitis | March 13, 2014 at 07:58 PM
You can add Tyrone Moss and Marcus Forston to that list.
Posted by: The Dude | March 13, 2014 at 08:43 PM
This Miami team simply does not quit - just a scrapy group of overachievers. So much fun to watch. Great game.....thought we were toast.

Hats off to Coach Larranaga, his staff and the 2014 Cane basketball team.
The best coaching job we've seen in U mens sports in over a decade or more.
Posted by: Rand Stevens | March 13, 2014 at 09:09 PM
Hate excuses, but we just didn't have our legs under us tonight. Nevertheless, as has been alluded to on here, this was better than ANY! coaching job that Frank Haith EVER! did at Miami.

If Larry could get Goldie & Morris, to buy in to his coaching philosophies, just think where we would be!
Posted by: herbieibis | March 13, 2014 at 11:23 PM
What kind of culture is Jim Larranaga building? "A basketball one," Rion Brown said. "You can come to Miami and be a contender."
Posted by: CaneRock | March 13, 2014 at 11:55 PM
From 2012:
SOTU: Considering your incredible athleticism, ever consider pulling a Jimmy Graham, and giving football a shot?
ES: That would just depend on if the opportunity came up. That is something I have contemplated. I'd have to talk to my family, but I haven't had any formal communication with the football staff. But yeah, there's maybe a possibility.
SOTU: Hey maybe we can send a note to Al Golden on your behalf. Although Coach L would probably take care of that?
ES: Yeah I'm sure they would.
