Now get your minds out of the gutter and pay attention! This is important.
Back in February, a few of us Canespacers had a chance to participate in a rare event: Attending four University of Miami sports events in just four days.
The "Four Play" (as we called it) included two baseball and two basketball games all on the lovely, tropically landscaped UM campus in Coral Gables.
If you have never had the opportunity to travel to South Florida and see the campus of the University of Miami and not just the City of Miami then you do not know what U are missing.
Joining me on this trip to the 305 were Canespacers TSully and KYCane. On the trip we went three for four in the games and beat the Gators but there was so much more.
I had the chance to take both bloggers to the beautiful Newman Alumni Center on campus as well as the baseball and basketball stadiums.
Not to mention the always enjoyable side trips to The Titanic Brewery on a nightly basis. In the end, a good time was had by all and we met many interesting people along the way.
But none were more interesting than the two lovely Lady Canes tennis players who were sitting right behind us at the baseball game against the Gators.
TSully spent about one full hour of quality time translating the game of baseball to the UM tennis players from Germany and Venezuela. It was one of those time where the saying: "U had to be there!" was actually true.
We even visited the incredible new Schwartz Center (seen below) next to the Schiff Tennis Center (seen above) and the famous Hecht Athletic Building along Hurricane Drive as we toured the entire campus.
Anyway, part two of the "Four Play" trip will post soon.
Stay tuned because it involves photos of Hooters.
No really, trust me, it does.
Is it me, or does Olsen look like a 16yo stoner?

So not a troll then? Just an @sshole? K, now I understand. You could just simply answer the question and move on. No need to imply that people don't know anything about CF because they are unsure to the rules of what type of degree an assistant needs. I think its well documented that I'm not a troll here, I've been posting here for years. As far as my CF knowledge goes, I don't pretend to know everything like you do, so I guess that makes me somehow inferior, so much so that I don't even deserve an answer from my friends that have posted here for again... years. You typically respond like a troll to comments. Maybe you aren't a troll, you are what I might call "troll-like" then. I know you have got something up your @ss for me because I was the first one to call you out on this. Give it a rest man. Add to the conversation, don't try to kill it by insulting others. I hope this post isn't deleted because you need to address the way you converse with others. I'm not the only one you do this to, just your favorite.

There IT is right there.

I don't think knowing an assistant has to have a degree is so ultra obvious. I actually find it very hard to believe that there's never been a college player leave early for the NFL without getting his degree, then retire and get into coaching.

Go Canes, they normally start as a Grad. Assistant while they finish classes.

Posted by: HawaiiCane | March 18, 2014 at 06:34 PM
Good point.
But can U imagine IF someone really famous like a Ray Lewis or Ed Reed did not have a degree (I have no idea if they actually do?) was brought on as a grad asst? LOL
Ice Harris may be well known in Florida but not like THAT!
Posted by: SOUP | March 18, 2014 at 06:40 PM
Nah, I just think it's pretty silly to think you need to have a graduate degree to be a position coach, that's all.
Yes, I'll go blue, whatever that means. I'm assuming it's just a registration process? As long as I don't have to give a cc number or something. It'll make my lurker handle seem obsolete, though.
Posted by: Lurker | March 18, 2014 at 06:45 PM
Lurker...there is NO CC info or other personal identifiers except for a valid email and NEVER any cost for free info at Canespace.
The Canespace Way is to promote YOUR ideas instead of attacking others ideas. I know this is a new concept for some but here is a brief example:
WRONG:
Blogger 1: I prefer the 4-3 defense over the 3-4 because it stops the run better which is always the first priority for any defense college or pro.
Blogger 2: U stupid idiot, U wouldn't know a football if it hit U in the face! The 4-3 is the worst defense in football. Have U heard of the forward pass U Neanderthal? Only the 3-4 works in current football and everybody knows that. What planet are U on? FOOL!
RIGHT:
Blogger 1: I prefer the 4-3 defense over the 3-4 because it stops the run which is always the first priority for any defense college or pro.
Blogger 2: I understand why some people may prefer the classic 4-3 defense to stop the run but I think the 3-4 defense offers a lot more flexibility and versatility especially against passing teams while also allowing the defense to attack an offense in more diverse ways.

Honestly, it wasn't a personal attack. I mean saying something is silly is pretty mild. Also, I don't personally attack people, I've never said anything personal about anybody, like calling them names., I would just hope it's ok to call out an idea that I think is silly, considering the crazy things I see posted on the Internet that's tame. But ok, if "The Dude" is extra sensitive and needs to be handled with kid gloves, I'll keep that in mind.

Terrance, Thanks for the flattering remark. I certainly did enjoy my time with you & Soup. I only wish he & I didn't have to work and could have helped you hold down the pool patio during the day. I'm especially grateful you were able to help me out with the friggin card machine at CVS after I left my glasses in the car.
Next time we will not miss the wings on the beach.

We are ALL sensitive, eat yogurt, drink green tea, eat organic foods and trust our feelings and intuition.
Well except for CaneRock, UMike and RCCF?

Indeed we gonna have a blast next time we are in South Florida again. Go Canes!

UMike - Like Raize, both of my daughters took Tae-Kwon-Do and had green belts. It does take a lot of time and effort but I felt it was worth it.
If you ever need any sparring gear let me know. Both girls were middle school, and I have 2 sets in pristine condition (helmets, chest protectors, hand & feet pads).

Lol... kid gloves... I'm just gonna let that one go. You seem to be missing the point of what SOUP posted. I agree you don't name call, but you can't say you don't attack people. Anyhow I'm willing to bury any hatchet between us so long as you can stop using troll-like behavior on Canespace.
