When you're perfect in everyway!
And that is exactly what Miami Hurricanes' pitcher Javi Salas was against Villanova on Tuesday night at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
Salas tossed on the second "Perefect Game" in UM history last night matching what Kevin Sheary did way back in 1987.
Here is a video tribute courtesy of www.hurricanesports.com on his magical night at The Light:

Canerock I was just being dramatic about Williams, I actually think he can get the job done although im rooting for Olsen. But i agree with you about Standish attacking the middle of the field, if we go back and look at our plays on offense you can probably count on your two hands how many times we made a play or completed a pass in the middle of the field.

UNC, I hear ya', but let's hope Coley doesn't let Him get away with it, the same way Whipple let Jacory get away with it. That crap didn't get fixed till JF showed up. But something else I noticed in that video, is Coley saying "be a threat"...which leads me to the conclusion that He prefers a dual threat QB...at least in the back of His mind.

“There’s nothing negative about this switch. I can hit. I can be a playmaker. I can go get the ball. I’ve got free range to make plays. … Playing offense and seeing both sides of the spectrum has really helped me. I know how the game works.’’

I really hope Dallas can get to the NFL playing safety. Golden just really has to protect what RBs he has left. I guess you have to do that with all of your players anyways. Fingers crossed no injuries! Thud practices are pretty much what everyone does, even the NFL.
I'm with you CaneRock. I don't see many gimmes next year. I'm nervous about a lot of teams. If we can lose to Duke, we can lose to anyone. Plus we played close against a lot of teams and snuck out with wins.

Thats like Duke, UNC, NC State, etc getting mad last year and saying its a disgrace cause our Canes basketball team did the damn thing sometimes U have to tip your cap to the opponent.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | March 05, 2014 at 02:21 PM
So we should just tip our hat to Duke SMH, we should never lose to Duke NEVER, until proven otherwise we have no gimmies on the schedule

http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/68011/offseason-spotlight-miami-2
Miami ranked 10th or worse in the ACC in the four biggest defensive categories last season (total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense, passing defense). The sack numbers, while better, still ranked Miami No. 9 in the league (29 total). For the Hurricanes to improve, they will need to rely much more on Muhammad and McCord to make plays.
I really believe the offense will be just fine..I think alot of our problem on offense again was that either we hung ppl for alot of points or we flatout struggled to get points..Alot of tht is on the QB..Morris had pocket protection but broke it to favor his tunnel vision...Again you take away a DukeJohnson and PhillipDorsett, its "hey everyone gang up on StaceyColey" sure Crawford was Very Servicable but the kid wasn't a RB at tht rate they'd be better swapping him and Ray3..Crawford will probably be very Good at Safety I think DeonBush would be better at CB as well he is very physical and it puts the WR at odds to have a guy gritty like tht at the line TH3 is the same way and he produces...Im wondering what is going to come of the great Crow he is getting buried on the charts..
Undefeated is not Impossible just gotta let those boys play D like they know how Athletically STOP RESTRICTING Their Range!!

What the hell U shaking your head for. Anyways my schedule breakdown is Louisville equals Win, FAMU equals Win, Arkansas State equals Win, Nebraska equals possible loss, Duke equals Undecided or Push Too Close Too Call, GT equals Most Like Win, Cincinatti equals Win, VT equals push, UNC equals Win, FSU equals Most Likely Loss, Virginia equals Win, Pittsburgh equals Win. So Right Now if U held me hostage and told me to give me a record I would say 10-2!

Worked out to 9 wins last time I checked.
Posted by: Go Canes | March 05, 2014 at 03:09 PM
9-4 so it was not the best but damn sure not the worst, While U complaining ask the Florida Crocs how it feels to be a preseason top 10 team thinking U have a shot at a SEC and National Title only to finish 4-8 and lose to FCS Georgia Southern now ask them how that work out for them?
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | March 05, 2014 at 03:10 PM

I call it the schedule most D1 programs play.

We didn't suck we won 9 games. And we are building on that with an excellent recruiting class and more experience for our young players, who were the best talent we had on our roster last year.
After what I expect to be a very good season, we will add more excellent players, build more depth and win more games.
That's how you do it. Recruit VERY well for several years, develop players, build depth and experience and then you win big.
That is my expectation, and it has nothing to do with the Gators or Penn State.
Those are your words, not mine.
Posted by: Go Canes | March 05, 2014 at 03:20 PM
Sinister Dude Go Pound Sand I quite sure at the start of last season U had the team winning around 8 or 9 games at best like most people on here but U want to turn around and play the result. I wish we could go back say like August of last year before the season started and get record predicitions. Go and Pound Sand. Oh btw if U have any real football knowledge U would know that Penn State was a football power that played in several national title games and won a couple and yes including one against us and one against Georgia but according to U they suck I dislike Penn State with a passion but acting like they have been a medicre program its just plain dumb man. When we won the title in 1991 they were ranked 3rd. So Dont be an A**Clown!

"and lose to FCS Georgia Southern now ask them how that work out for them?"
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | March 05, 2014 at 03:10 PM
And that's exactly why there isn't any gimme games nowadays. There isn't parity in terms of recruiting, but there's damn sure parity in how coaches motivate there players nowadays. Any given Saturday.

lol very touching, I actually pick the canes to go 10-2 losing to FSU/VA tech but with your idol leading the helm we're celebrating 9-4 record with a 11-1 schedule, so excuse me for not believing anything with this coaching staff until we see some fundamentally sound football actually being played

Under normal circumstances our Defensive Problems were a result of us Being Young and Undersized and Talent Riddled…
But Today…..Ohhhhhhhh Today!!
We are building from 9 wins spearheaded by….drumroll….Our Young TALENT which were the best Performers on Defense…
Not Even Gonna Say I See Contradiction ….NOPE Not Gonna!!

Brief youtube on Kevin Sheary:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo_JmBIF0EY
They need to correct the end of it now, as it said he was the only pitcher to throw a perfect game in UM history. :)
BTW, good trivia, although not in this video, is that there have been 22 perfect games in NCAA history. Cool that the U pitching staff has 2 of them. For those forgetting basic math, one out of every 11 perfect games pitched are by UM pitchers. Let's see if this rate holds....
