^^^^^^^^^^^ This guy.

LMAO! "Is a very narrow view"? For real?

If what 4-Real said is a "narrow view", then WTF! do you call crowning players who haven't played a down yet...

And Cain actually fit the Golden size-height-weight prototype that He covets so much. Don't know who's bright idea it was to move Him to DE.

1st pitch by Bryan Radziewski is under way

Go Canes

Asking what happened to Kelvin Cain is like asking about Tommy Streeter before Golden got here.

Each player is different and one good game or one decent stretch of games by an individual player under any coach is a very narrow view.

Sad story VfB, also puts a sobering twist on sending a text!

RIP JOJO!

VfB_Cane

IF - and to me that's a big IF - it is correct what Susan from the Herald is tweeting, JoJo's death should be a warning to all of us:

=================
@smillerdegnan

In case you don't know: Sadly, I was told by family member & others that JoJo Nicolas had his deadly crash while looking at text message.

I was told JoJo Nicolas was driving & on the phone w his girlfriend when Graig Cooper texted him. I was told (more)

(cont) that JoJo told his gf to hold on a second because he had just gotten the text... right then is when the crash occurred.

NY Giants safety Antrel Rolle told me today that JoJo "saved a thousand lives" in that accident because of the lesson re texting
=================

We all get caught up in those little distractions way too much; yet, when something tragic happens, we're quick to think that we're too smart to have this happen to ourselves.

To all bloggers out there: Be safe, and look after the ones you care about!

4-Real

Dude, remember when Kelvin Cain took on Duke by himself? What happened 2 the kid after that?

Dude on a Pale Horse

They are being developed better now under Golden than they were under Randy. They will be more physically prepared for the NFL under Golden.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Agreed. And we should have finished ranked this year but Golden's staff sh!t the bed against Duke & VT & Lousiville. I'd say this is a make or break year for Golden... but I don't think its true. The guy has created a culture of excuses around Coral Gables. D'Onofrio should have been fired. Instead we have to go through another year of players trying to cover for his lack of coaching ability.

4-Real

I'm not talking TEAM rite now, I'm talking bout the WELLBEING of draft eligible players. Our they being properly coached & developed enough to make it 2 the next level so they can make a GOOD living & provide 4 their families, which is why MOST kids come to the U in the first place?

4-Real

I agree 100% Dude but the FACT remains that we haven't finished in the top 20 since '09.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Really? Top 20? Really? Do you remember what happened the very next year? Probably not. Do you remember the bowl? Probably not?

I could give a sh*t about a Top 20 finish when Top 5 and National Championships are our birthright.

4-Real

If finishing in the top 20 of the Bcs suxx then please, PLEASE bring back those SUKKY DAYZ!!!

4-Real

The point I'm making Sully is that players WERE getting paid under Shannon, including DVD of all people lol! This staff...not so much :(

Dude on a Pale Horse

4-Real,

I prefer neither. That's a stupid question. Its like asking which first year I prefer, Golden's 6-6 or Randy's 5-7, they both suck. Do not confuse my criticism of Randy as love for Golden.

Terrance Sullivan

4-Real I and am quite sure others care about our Canes winning whether its Shannon or now Golden. Golden is our coach and I want him to succeed. I always got love for Shannon he is forever a Cane but this constant comparison crap is extremely tired and old. IJS.

Terrance Sullivan

Yes Sir Rock!

4-Real

Dude, Randy was a 1st time head coach. Which 9-4 season would YOU prefer, Shannon's or Golden's?

BEERicane

Remember way back when we had a streak of first rounders? Those were the days...

Dude on a Pale Horse

Yeah, Randy really did miracles @ The U. Lol, sarcasm.

4-Real

Not trying 2 go back n 4th with anybody but at least players got drafted within the 1st 4 rounds under Randy! Jus sayin....

Go Canes

What a great answer to the marlins bitching about the lineup the sox put out for a spring game:

@John_W_Henry: They should apologize for their regular season lineup.

Dude on a Pale Horse

CR, BEER,

Yup, yup, yup! At about 260 Chickillo could get around pretty quick and make plays behind the LOS. Having to control OTs is not what he does well.

CaneRock

Chickillo?...I think His production this year, depends on whomever else steps up...namely, Kamalu,Hamilton, & Moten. Chick looks better as a 4-3 DE & DT hybrid. But I agree with Beer too, Chick looks ineffective in the 3-4. He basically went from trying to rush by a tackle, to taking on a Tackle. That's a big transition from what He did His 1st 2 years.

VfB_Cane

YUP! Hopefully we can make a lil' run in the ACC Tourney.

Posted by: CaneRock | March 08, 2014 at 04:12 PM

It's pretty clear: Whenever they score 65 points, they have an excellent shot. The team plays great defense and has shown it can keep some of the best teams in the 55 to 60 range.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Chickillo has a better motor than Clowney. Clowney takes so many plays off.

CaneRock

So proud of my Canes basketball team. Most didn't think this team would be anywhere near this good most thought this season would be a complete train wreck, but instead hard work, dedication, and excellent coaching U can maximize the abilities of the team, No this team wasn't last years team but I love their tenacity though. Go Canes!

VfB_Cane

Remember when people were putting him on par with Clowney?! That's just too funny.

Posted by: BEERicane | March 08, 2014 at 04:05 PM

Prior to the season, people were putting Morris on par with Bridgewater ... It's not about perception, it's about performance.

Chickillo needs a big year, 5+ sacks and a lot of TFLs. I don't think what Miami coaches facilitates a lot of TFLs.

Posted by: The Dude | March 08, 2014 at 03:57 PM

I'd agree with this. Getting drafted so low though is a failure on him and this coaching staff. Remember when people were putting him on par with Clowney?! That's just too funny.

VfB_Cane

Canes win by 13, but it wasn't that close. Great day for the seniors in their last home game.

CaneRock

I keep tellin' ya'll, Swoope needs to be on that FOOT!...BALL!...FIELD! Swoope has 3-4 OLB/DE written all over em'!

Dude on a Pale Horse

For you BEERicane,

http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/01/08/3857195/miami-hurricanes-denzel-perryman.html

Says Chickillo was given a 4th to 5th round assessment according to "someone familiar with his situation."

I think 5th to 7th is probably where I'd take him if I were going to. It will depend on how he plays this year and combine workouts if he gets invited.

Oh college football, how far away you are...

In the meantime there's this. Check out plays 98, 79, 63, 49 & 9. On the other hand, divert your eyes from 44 & 33.

After watching I felt bad for anyone even attempting to play D against Johnny Football or Jameis Winston.

VfB_Cane

Announcer: "Another great defensive stand by the Hurricanes"

... I'd love to hear that after the BB season is over.

BTW, Canes leading by 14 with under 14 to play.

BEERicane

Chickillo may be draftable right now, depending on the NFL team.

Posted by: The Dude | March 08, 2014 at 02:06 PM

Lol! Chick is a joke in this 3-4 BS. He will be relegated to a reserve role this year. Or we will be screwed on D. He is ineffective in this D?No! Scheme.

Terrance Sullivan

Let's Go Canes! Beat Wake Forest!

Dude on a Pale Horse

Thanks CR,

There are a couple other draftable guys that just need a big year.

Williams
Chickillo
Sandland

Am I missing anyone?

Chickillo may be draftable right now, depending on the NFL team.

CaneRock

TD, that's a good point on "draftable Senior class". Hopefully those Seniors, can be a catalyst for 10-11 wins.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Anyone else think this we have the most draftable Senior class that we've had in a long time?

Dorsett
Walford
Feliciano
McDermott
Pierre
Perryman
Gunter

We have some draftable underclassmen also.

Dude on a Pale Horse

God I love the Miami Hurricanes.

I will post a daily "tentative" itenerary so U will know when it is best to come by. We will be kayaking on Saturday at some time (AM or PM) so if U want to go let me know in advanace.

If U wanna just come by the campsite and hang out then late PM early eve would prolly be best for dinner, campfire, drinks, etc.

Going to check out the Canes basketball team on senior day to cheer for the seniors, and to support coach L, who did a great job this year with very little talent. Go Canes!

Players keep raving about UM quarterback Ryan Williams. “I don’t think we’ll miss a beat” with Williams replacing Stephen Morris, receiver Phillip Dorsett said Thursday. “He throws an accurate and catchable ball, throws everything on time. Ryan’s arm has gotten a lot stronger. It’s not really a dropoff” from Morris. Dorsett says fans will see for themselves at the April 12 spring game.

AND WE KNEW THIS LAST YEAR!!!

Posted by: SOUP | March 07, 2014 at 08:46 PM

SOUP...when Morris sprained His ankle in 2012, Williams wasn't good enough to replace Him then, either. And frankly, I don't think He was good enough to replace Morris last year...at least over the duration of the season. And frankly again, what difference would He have made any way, we would've lost those same four games that we lost with Morris...AND!, without Duke & PD4. IMO, Williams is just one of those players that needs to exhaust His College eligibility to before He thrives.

Just my 2 pieces of copper on it.

CaneRock

Michelle Kaufman:

“Rarely do you find a group like this year that come in as freshmen, end up being in support roles, stay in those roles throughout their three years and all of a sudden are thrust into the starting lineup and major roles their senior year,’’ he said. “In all my years, I’ve never had a senior class like this one, go from being the seventh through 12th man to now all of a sudden being one through six. That jump is substantial.”

I once came across a bottle of mustard that had been hiding under a bush in the South Florida sun for some unknown, but very lengthy, period of time. I found it by inadvertently causing it to explode all over my legs. Long-rancid mustard is the kind of stench that haunts one's dreams.
