Torrance Gibson yesterday: “I’m going to talk about Miami, and Miami was high on my list. They were No. 1. And then they started fading away because they’re not staying in contact with me.”

Gibson has no definite plans on when he wants to cut his list down further, or release a list of schools he’d like to take official visits to, but Ohio State and Tennessee make the cut as of now.

From our boy Blue...imo Bruce is to low, even at #4...

If you have followed our recruiting coverage for the past 44 years, you fully understand that when we compile these lists every season, it is designed to promote and elevate the talent.

We play no favorites, but judge each and every football player on seeing them live on the football field with pads on. It is all part of watching parts of 100 games each season that affords us the opportunity to truthfully compare and not go off what someone else says or watching them perform in shorts and a t-shirt.

As an enhancement, we also visit the athletes at camps, combines and 7-on-7 to check their character and learn more about them as recruits that colleges are ready to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars.

We take nothing away from any other list that you will see in south Florida, but when over 400 colleges and universities have used our year round coverage to offer scholarships, it’s a signal that it really works.

Unlike those who continue to compile these lists, we never stop promoting. We do it for every athlete out there – interested in playing at the next level, 365 days a year. We have been fortunate to place over 5,000 prospects – many who now are coaching locally.

As we sat down to compile this first of many Class of 2016 prospect lists, it was evident that this going to be such an impressive group of athletes that we are dealing with. Much like the Class of 2014, when nearly 200 Division 1 offers were awarded in south Florida , the 2016 class is brimming with talent.

Remember, just because your favorite player is not on this initial listing – we will be around all year – giving others the same attention we afforded these quality prospects.

As you can plainly see, this is a group that we will be hearing from quite often.

I call BS on our staff "not contacting" Torrance. Major BS. If they stopped, he told them to, or they know he's not coming. U don't just stop recruiting an elite athlete after 4 years for no reason.

But hey, maybe they know a much better passer is coming? One can hope.

UMike

He said not "staying in contact"..which in todays recruiting terms means they went from 4 times a week to 3 lol... its possible they saw the writing on the wall and went another direction. They do have a few offers out to QB's. I wonder if they will pursue "Shunshine" from Flanagan

After 4 years.....Jack is kicking ass again...love it.

CaneRock

Wimbush?...I think it's gonna come down to us, & OSU. If I had to go off this interview, I'd say OSU...His face lit up a lil' bit when the interviewer brought it up:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmpLBSZL87c

UMike

I dont see Wimbush coming here. This might be a thin cycle for us at QB. Not a lot of local guys. Maybe Coley can work his magic with some out of state kids.

UMike

Would of been nice if all the Ricky Town info was true lol... kid is now a 5-Star and staying home with USC. I know we are going after Nick Tiano from here in Chattanooga, but once more SEC offers come his way he will be a hard pull. Right now I think only us and Miss. State are his only offers.

CaneRock

I think we have a shot with this kid...Francois's a better passer than Wimbush, and He's an in state kid. We gotta be doing a full court outta state press for something.

CaneRock

But the recruiters must think Wimbush has a helluva'n arm, He said He's only been playing varsity for 1 year.

UMike

Francios has offers from everyone too..would be nice to get another kid from that area along with Fines. We have been shut out for a while in that area and they always produce talent.

UMike

I wouldnt be surprised if Wimbush joins Fitzpatrick at Bama.

UMike

Dexter Williams finally gets 4-Star RB ranking on Rivals. They must of got word he will flip to Florida haha

Ohio_Cane

I wouldnt be surprised if Wimbush joins Fitzpatrick at Bama.

So how many kids have a top 5 and then pick none of those when they announce? 1 every few years? Not saying he couldn't pull an extra hat out from under the table, but that's rare.

Ohio_Cane

I'm picking PSU for Wimbush, but wouldn't be surprised to see OSU. His family is all PSU fans.

UMike

Again... so lol... I wouldn't be surprised if he picked Bama. He delayed his commitment cause of a Bama offer and his teammate is committed there and there was talk of them wanting to play together. Who knows when his official top 5 was released or if its changed etc... so yea, it wouldnt surprise me

UMike

Not that it matters, he aint coming here.

Ohio_Cane

He may ultimately end up at Bama, but his top 5 is recent and doesn't include them, so I highly doubt he picks them today. NSD is a whole different story.

Bout time. Kid is a high 4* at minimum. Should be 5*

CaneRock

QB should be the least of our concerns next year...but it would be nice to add another scholarship QB next year. Frankly, we've SUCKED! at recruiting CBs the last couple of years, can we step it up there...PLEASE!...PAUL WILLIAMS?!

UMike

CR, if there was ever a year for CB's in South Florida its this year lol... Mayes, Burns, Howard & Hope since 2012.. not a lot there.

UMike

Tarvarus McFadden 5-Star
Tyrek Cole 4-Star
Rashard Causey 3-Star
Carlton Davis 3-Star (could easily be a 4 star)
Kendrell McFadden 4-Star Safety

Plenty of other under the radar guys too

Beckham might as well move on from His Miami MLS fantasy. And we need to move on from being His tenant.

Malik Rozier putting in MAJOR work in the film room & weight room. He's 6-2 210 pounds & steady lifting. Studies film and the playbook at least 2 hours a day, then performs 7 on 7's with teammates. Says he calls Coley EVERYDAY asking questions about the playbook. Coley wants him in shotgun cuz he does not want to hinder his athleticism. Playbook very similar to his high school playbook. May have upper hand on Kaaya cuz Rozier already knows how to setup O -line protection / formations where as Kaaya's coaches sets everything up 4 Kaaya. Telling yall, watch out 4 Malik the Freak!

CaneRock

SOUP, maybe you can check out this Alexander kid, as He's in your neck of the woods? Maybe?

Good story on Lemarcus Joyner...Manny:

Former Southwest High defensive coordinator Cory Johnson hasn’t forgotten the scene he encountered the first time he took Lamarcus Joyner home after a track meet.

As soon as Johnson’s car pulled into the Victory Homes projects in Liberty City, he saw a group of people “about the size of a Little League football field” gambling with dice in the middle of the street.

Nobody wanted to move out of the way. Instead, they stared into his car, trying to figure out who had the guts to drive into one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Miami unarmed at 10 at night.

“Once Lamarcus rolled his window down, and they realized it was him, one of them whipped his head around and told him, ‘Don’t bring people around here we don’t know,’ ” Johnson recalled. “I told Lamarcus, ‘You’re going to need to get your [butt] home earlier than this.’ This is crazy up in here.”

Did the kid from Heritage really need to put out a ranked top fifteen?

Really, 15?

Go Canes

I'd take odds on his current list being more than the number of college passes he throws.

I have 24 DVR'd because my wife wants to watch with me and had CE courses to finish online last night. So, no spoilers please! Can't wait to see the toughest man on TV again!

Former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger produced a diluted urine sample at the February scouting combine, a source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

A diluted sample is usually regarded as a failed test under the NFL's drug-testing program.

Mettenberger's diluted sample was reported earlier Monday by ProFootballTalk.com.

Mettenberger is one of more than 10 prospects with positive tests from the combine, sources told Schefter.

FOX Sports reported that Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, LSU defensive tackle Anthony Johnson, and Florida State linebackers Telvin Smith and Christian Jones were among the other players to fail tests. Jernigan is a projected first-round pick.

Jack Bauer named his cat Chuck Norris. Why? Cuz he's a pu$$y compared to Jack.

Ohio_Cane

When Chuck Norris and Superman have sleep overs, they argue over who has the cooler Jack Bauer Pajamas...

UpNorthCane27

I agree Jack Bauer beats Chucks Norris's ass, no fight whatsoever extremely one sided lol.

Old Skool

Who wins?

For Jack it depends on what the writers come up with. How bout a stroke that leaves him paralyzed on his left side? He could be shot with a gangrenous bullet that causes massive amounts of flesh to be removed in order to save his life. Maybe, he could suffer from Lou Gehrig's disease, premature dementia or a severe reaction to a medication.

SinisterCane

LOL I just spit all over my computer
