We all know that there is only one U.
And make no mistake about it, for Miami Hurricane fans, it is all about "The U".
During our recent Canespace "Four Play" trip in February to South Florida and the beautiful campus of the University of Miami a few of us had a chance to see the newly constructed Schwartz Center for Athletic Excellence up close and personal for the first time.
Even though Miami proved long ago that winning championships is not all about facilities, in today's highly competitive "recruiting wars" world, it doesn't hurt.
We, like many others who have visited and seen the facility, were extremely impressed with the new, modern and state-of-the-art building located directly behind the Hecht Athletic Center.
As you can see from the above video, there is only one U. It is a small, private school that is a very special place that has produced some of the best student-athletes ever and many National Champions.
And whether it is the old U or the new U, or whether you have been a UM fan forever or for just a few years, we still think that you would strongly agree:
"It is all about The U!"
UMike, that was "The Beans". Maaaaan, lookin' at those shots, the only thing that changed abo:ut The Beans, was a coat of paint.
Don't understand why they can't do to The Beans, what they did with the Scott Projects:

But those boys in the Pork-N-Beans stay beefing with each other even though only a block or two separate them.

And that's exactly why they need to renovate that place. But I can almost guarantee you, that they're gonna gentrify that entire area...the Feds didn't do that for nothin'. When you think about it, that's some prime real estate right there, you're only a skip & a hop away from SoBe.

If all those small clics in the "beans" linked up they could run Miami/Florida like the mob did NY lol... But you're right.

This was from 4 years ago, but imagine what LJ's economic impact would be NOW! Championships are just the icing on the cake:
Another chamber of commerce, meanwhile, estimates a much larger LeBron effect: Jerry Roper of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce valued LeBron's potential signing with the Bulls, according to the best estimates he's seen, at $2.5 billion.
He compared LeBron's impact to Michael Jordan's when I talked to him Thursday: "Michael Jordan took us out of the Capone era to a global city known for sports," Roper said. LeBron as a Bull would have been huge "in terms of spending and advertising, etc, but the unknown is what that would mean around the world and we can't put a pricetag on that."

1. One reason FSU has out recruited us is easy to see.... Winning.
2. FSU does have easy admissions and low academic standards. UM does not.
3. Kids want to go where they can win titles, be on tv, do things that you and I cannot do, get out of trouble and get to the NFL.That is Winning. FSU has accomplished that, no matter how twisted, distorted, and under handed they have done it.

Jim Morris signed through 2018. DiMare is coach-in-waiting to take over then.

In the last two years alone grades have caused issues for us with Bryant, Lane, Valentine and Gray.
When is the last time we heard of a kid not getting into FSU or UF because of grades?

Tim Irvin is visiting Miami unofficially today #Canes
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | June 24, 2014 at 03:33 PM
Ohio did you hear about Suarez??
What a damn shame top three strikers in the world arguably had the best season of any player and he goes and bites a player today smdh. It's not his first or second time it's his freaking 3rd incident!!
The only good thing is that FIFA will probably suspend him for the rest of the World CUp which means my Colombian National Team will have less to worry about come Saturday.

Watched it happen live. Awful. "The Cannibal" is back again. Such a shame. FIFA better kick him out of the tourney, cuz the replay clearly shows him bite...

People are speculating that because this is Irvin's 2nd visit in back to back weeks, this is the "commit visit".
We'll find out soon if their speculation is right.
