Looking at their top 14 recruiters, 7 of 14 are from the SEC...9 if you consider Clemson & FSU as SEC.

I feel that our 3rd down completion percentage will improve by 8 percent on each side of the ball this season. On offense from 35% in 2013 to 43% in 2014 and on defense from 41% in 2013 to 33% in 2014. Go Canes!

Go Canes

Terrence I'm with you, in my opinion those two stats determine our season.

SOUP

TSully...you know IF we were to set up a series of criteria for each game and then measure each game and the season against those statistical measures it would be very interesting to track from game to game and all season long. Some that might work are:

Points/game for
Points/game against
Third downs to first converted
Third downs to first surrendered
Penalties/game
Penalty yards/game
Turnovers/game
Turnover ratio

Etc, Etc.

Terrance Sullivan

Soup let's do that my friend. we will work on this project.

Joe

Sean Taylor would of sucked with our DL over the last two years.

Any improvement up front will help everyone on the D.

The Dude

Any way Nico can transfer home to The U?

The Dude

Joe,

I gotta disagree. ST26 is the greatest athlete to ever play the position. ST shined on a team full of elite talent and solid coaching. He'd shine on this team with enough talent and horrible coaching. Yes, No'D would probably have him playing too deep, but Sean covered as much ground as anyone. Plus he could return ints for points and hit shockingly hard, enough to blast the ball out.

I MUST disagree with line one there Joe… Sean would have been "restricted" in what he could accomplish with our poor DLs of late, but he was a champion, and would have succeeded no matter what the conditions. In fact, he would have raised the level of our DL, and probably "punched out" D'No!

LOL John Vilma and DJ Williams was a mutha too so ST26 and my personal favorite Ed Reed would have stayed in the DT's behinds not to mention Mike Rumph, and Phillip Buchanon would have been on the DT's behind.

Barry:

Over the years, UM has struggled to sell tickets against non-marquee opponents and determined it didn’t make sense to put a lot of time and money into promoting its other five home games: Florida A&M on Sept. 6, Arkansas State on Sept. 13, Duke on Sept. 27, Cincinnati on Oct. 11 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 29

What has been the reaction nationally to the “Go to Fewer Games” ad?

Freet said some UM fans and donors initially questioned the strategy but many of them understood when UM explained it.

“People read it and say it makes sense,” Freet said. “It’s a strategic plan for growth. We don’t have the manpower and funding to effectively target seven games. So the thinking was, let’s just crush FSU and UNC and the momentum of that will help.”

Rock I love it. That's smart and basically I read it that it will be 60,000 plus for FSU, UNC, and Pittsburgh. Smart moves.

Terrance, I agree, it makes a lotta sense. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a good crowd against Duke.

If he can somehow sell all of the tickets it may create demand for the other games.

Total agreement Rock. I think we get a really good crowd there as well especially if it is a 3:30 or 7:00 or 8:00 pm game.

But as we get to July 1, the ACC, it turns out, has only become a lot more stable as the conference officially adds its 15th member, Louisville, a program that is thriving in numerous sports that include a lot more than just men's basketball. In fact, in this era where college sports fans keep hearing about "geographic footprints," the ACC geographic area will contain the most television households and highest population of any conference nationally. The league is also proud to point out that it is the only Power 5 conference to place over half of its member institutions among the top 50 of the Best Colleges rankings released by U.S. News & World Report and put five in the top 30.

"During a very turbulent decade, I feel really good about where we have landed," ACC commissioner John Swofford told FOX Sports last week. "It is a position of real strength and stability."
