Very well said . . A heartfelt thank you to those that serve & sacrifice for this great country.

KYCane...I do what I can when I can. I know it pales in comparison to what we ALL should do to honor and support our troops but it is all I can do right now.

USA! USA! USA!

FROM ANOTHER SOURCE:

• 3b. Miami: Tied with Louisville, Miami has the reverse profile of the Cards. The U recruits like crazy and rakes in tons of talent, but the coaching hasn't lived up to the expectations just YET. In fairness, the expectations are preposterously high for a program that just isn't what it once was.

So many heroes from that generation. The generations that have followed, with the exception of those who have served, have no clue and very little interest in the sacrifices made for them so they can live in cushy comfort while whining.Posted by: Lurker | July 03, 2014 at 06:12 PM

Thought about American Pride while watching the Columbians show such emotion for their country during their national anthem at world cup.
If your heart doesnt swell with American Pride on July 4th or when you hear the Star Spangled Banner, or you have no desire to salute the American flag then you may need to check your patriotism and salute the country and folks like Louis Zamperini who sacrificed for you and yours!

Thank you for The Truth. Thank you for these comments. Thanks to all our heroes, many of whom are our kin who fought and died so we may live free. The WWII guys fought so that the world was not over run and controlled by the 2 biggest evils ever: Nazism and Communism. Neither have a thing to offer but evil.

That being said, it is a sad commentary when your Campaigner in Chief trades 5 killers of Americans for a loser who deserted betrayed and shamed his country, yet Susan Rice says he served with honor. His moronic father speaks Arabic at our capital and praises his son for what he did for Afghanistan. Meanwhile a Marine who did serve with honor is in prison in Mexico, and while there recently the Campaigner never brought it up about release. Forget the hero, honor the loser.

We have homeless vets denied health care wandering the streets, but our "fearless" leader is more concerned about renovating old buildings and asking for more taxpayer dollars to take care of border kids who are not citizens and have no right to be on our soil.

These are the policies and procedures of the new leaders who have forgotten what made our nation great and are willing to let our country take a back seat regarding freedom and doing the right thing.

NativeCane...I think I worked in the department right before they coated em'...not sure. All I remember doing, was sitting in a chair, and I had to basically dust off tiles coming off a conveyor belt. I did other jobs in there, but that was the main one I remember. Bout' the only person I remember, was some dude who kept tellin' me He was close to getting His black belt...but He was good people though. But I had a sweet shift though, I think it was 6PM to 4AM, Monday thru Friday...and from time to time, I used to get off, and drive to Miami on the weekends. And no, I didn't spend my money at the LCC, but I did spend quite a few bucks at Club Kathleen LMBO!

Per poster on CIS...Trayone Gray:

"Found out from the clearinghouse he is one credit short so he has to take a summer class now. Says he should still be good for fall camp and UM coaches told him they want him to play in 1st game at Louisville."

Beckham is such a freakin' crybaby...WAH WAHHHH! BYE FELICIA!

Though Beckham's group has made clear that Beckham wants his proposed MLS team to play in downtown Miami, Broward County commissioner Stacy Ritter told me today that the team has now expressed willingness to speak to Broward County about a soccer-specific stadium.

Ritter said Brian Ballard, one of the team's lobbyists, conveyed that Beckham's group is now willing to listen to what Broward officials have to say. Those talks are expected soon, she said.

It's too soon to tell the level of the Beckham group's interest in this idea, but at least they told Ritter that Beckham & Co. are open to considering it.

Ritter said county-owned land near the Panthers' arena (BB&T Center) would be a "great fit" for the stadium.

"Beckham's group was very unhappy with the parcel that Miami-Dade wanted to provide," Ritter said. "We're easier to deal with than the county to the south."

Beckham's top two choices for a stadium --- the Port of Miami site and the boat slip site next to AmericanAirlines Arena --- were both rejected by local government officials, and Beckham's group has said it's not enthusiastic about a site near Marlins Park because the land is "spiritually tainted" in the wake of the Marlins' controversial ballpark deal.

Beckham's group has said it's assessing its options regarding Miami.

Posted by: SOUP | July 04, 2014 at 11:17 AM

Good question SOUP...but I think Beckham wants to build His own stadium from the ground up. And aesthetically, I liked the POM site, but logistically, it wasn't happening.

SOUP

I don't know if Broward has any waterfront site for the stadium?

CaneRock

I don't know if Broward has any waterfront site for the stadium?

Posted by: SOUP | July 04, 2014 at 11:45 AM

Lauderdale?...Hallandale? But the thing with Broward though, is you'll only be putting a stadium in front of the water...whereas the POM site, you had a waterfront, with a world class skyline.

Terrance Sullivan

Guess Beckham gonna be playing in West FLL err Sunrise next to the BB&T Center aka the Florida Panthers arena. So I guess they will be called Florida Beckham United cause I will clown him and Broward County if they still try to use the Miami Beckham United name would be laughable like the LA Angels of Anaheim.

Question...do ya'll think this year's team will be better, or the same, as the 1999-2000 team?

Also, I'm not one to celebrate UM losses, but the 99' loss to FSU was my favorite loss. That game right there told me we were close.
