The World Cup is back today. To get ready for Brazil-Netherlands, here are all 167 goals from the tournament so far. http://es.pn/1zvTliR

Ohio_Cane

It's WR Dredrick Snelson. Elite WR from Ft Lauderdale.

SOUP

U will NOT Like this: Phil Steel says that Miami's "indicators" are for a Bear Market return (decline of -2.5) in 2014.

SOUP

Ohio...Or it could be this guy?

Ferman earlier: Michael Pinckney sporting U visor at Rivals Underclassman Challenge in Jacksonville.

He came, he saw, he conjured, . . . He left.

Terrance Sullivan

Phil Steele=Paralysis by analysis. I mean just give us a over under win total. I mean this dude act like he works on Wall Street. Give us some general numbers and call it a day. Geez War and freaking peace. I mean how many games does he thinks Miami will win this season is it 7 is it 8 is it 6 is it 9 etc.

Terrance Sullivan

BTW that dude Omar Kelly is god awful on WQAM why does this dude have a show? SMDH. 51 days till our Canes season opener. Can't wait.

The Dude

Sweet article, lol.

The Dude

That's exactly why I don't like Steele TS, @ the end of the year he will tell us how accurate he is too.

Terrance Sullivan

The Dude Yes Sir.

Go Canes

Terrence I just heard him say we need to add an Ariza or Deng just to make the playoffs next year.

What an idiot.

The Dude

Number 1 thing is a healthy Wade.

Lurker

Omar Kelly is the worst. He's a self absorbed egomaniac who is so impressed with himself that he actually thinks he's 100% right, 100% of the time.

The guy was an absolute Shannon hater on a personal level, which a journalist is never supposed to do. He totally trashed Shannon with a vicious personal attack when he was fired. Now I'm not a big a Shannon fan (as a head coach anyway), but what he did was hateful and uncalled for.

That should tell you what kind of a person he is.

mi@mic@ne

Coach d was seen moving his cars closer to his house..i think hes getting ready to relocate to Temple. lol

BEERicane

Who leaves sunny, warm, beautiful Miami to go to old, cold, dank Clevelend?

^indeed. "Dank" is a great adjective.

And this related article feature is actually useful/functional. I'm impressed.

You fellas will be alright. I mean all this fuss over basketball. I like to think of it as a girls game, you know, Gino and UConn!!!

"Cause right now its time to.....Kick Out The Jams, Motherf##kers!!!!!" MC5 Detroit 1968

Its football season, we getting ready to play THE GAME!!!!!!! You may like a little B ball, but nothing can come close to the game of Football. I mean real Football. I enjoyed the soccer matches, but really would you rather watch baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer or
FOOTBALL! Dont care how popular soccer is around the world, its OK!!!

REAL FOOTBALL is here!!!!

It Apocalypse Now Time, BABY!!!!

Lets GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. You hardly ever hear it but yeah I like it too.

2. Why thank U! It just came to mind after I heard the news and was reading the blog. U know what we say around here: Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

THREE QUESTIONS FOR HEAT FANS:
1. Is Chris Bosh getting paid more to stay in Miami than LeBron James is getting paid to sign with Cleveland, (especially when you factor in the difference in state income tax)?
2. Do the Heat make the 2015 postseason playoffs?
3. In a (not so) hypothetical 2015 NBA final championship series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers, who do the Heat fans root for?

SOUP

David Furones ‏@DavidFurones90 24m

#Canes get big 2016 WR commit in Dredrick Snelson, and that class continues to look scary good.

1. Yes. Getting about another $1M/yr and an additional yr. No state tax. He is getting paid. (Horrible move by heat brass)
2. Unfortunately, yes. I feel it would be better served not paying bosh that type of $$ and starting rebuild mode. I fear this contract sentences us to the same fate as the Lakers of recent years with true rebuilding toward contention off in the distant future. This will be annual mediocrity.
3. I'd have to say spurs. Simply because I enjoy seeing Cleveland suck in everything. This tradition must continue.

BEERicane

With this recruiting boon we are witnessing, is it safe to say we finally got some competent bag-men?

I totally agree. Bosh ain't worth that $$$.

I trust Riley because he is the MAN and he has gotten it done TWICE at Miami with different teams. But if it were me I would have cut Bosh loose, let Wade play out his remaining years as a Heater and start an entire youth movement rebuilding process.

But I also know that ain't Riley's method so we go with what we know. I would have signed Melo with Bosh's money too even though he is NOT my favorite player he is MUCH better than Bosh, at least at scoring.

You think Omar Kelly comes up with this:

"The Dude Abides While The King Abdicates"

Yeah I know, not a chance in Hell!

SinisterCane

Just my opinion but with the end of the big 3 era the Canes and Phins past failure won't be able to hide in the shadow of the Heat success, the Miami sport fan base love/hate will shift back to football. Time to win now.

roachcane77

You know how I love smart blog titles! That was definitely a CLASSIC!

VA Cane

Lewis is a good player, an will help teams.

Josh Sweat will make teams; I spoke with my boy in VA Beach today. There is a lot of difference between them. Lewis= good

Swaet= Game changer he is the guy we really need at DE!!!!!

Hey, keep the noise down. Can't U see I am working over here?

LOL

Lurker

In his last year in Toronto, before he came to Miami and scaled back as part of the big 3, Bosh averaged 24 pts, 11 rebounds, 2.4 assists.

He was basically the only player available that can put those kind of numbers up and is still relatively young.

Ohio_Cane

I love bosh and his stats will increase by a good margin. But is he worth $118 million? Hell no

Go Canes

In 2016 Bosh's contract will be a bargain.

The new TV deal will bring deals similar to what KG signed back in the day.

In 2016, he still may not be worth it. He was worth the $88 mil Houston offered. Not $188 mil. Sorry, JMO.

CGNC

nice Blog article. yes, we still have The Dude LOL. Lebron is going home, the Cavs must be better than when he left and it is where he is from. He has won the Eastern Conference 4 consecutive times with two titles in Miami. He is going to be frustrated with the Cavs for awhile. Also, he was defended pretty well by that desperate housewife in the Finals which I was surprised by. Seriously, you are LeBron, mow over Parker!

The City of Miami, fans and the Heat organization have handled his leaving very well too - much better than when he left Cleveland.

VA - Miami sports fans have embraced The Heat because it is the one sports team in the city committed to winning.

Miami Basketball ‏@CanesHoops 58m

10 Commitments of Miami Basketball: We will run for layups and open threes.

VA Cane

I would like to get both of these VA guys; it would really help our team. Sweat is a monster!!

2002nemo

Here's my take on LeBron:

He divorces his first wife (call her "Cleveland") in order to marry a younger, prettier woman ("Miami"). However, after four years the sex isn't so good any more, and he longs for the "good old days". So, he decides to divorce his second wife to remarry his first wife.

Bro, what are you thinking? What are you doing? “You can’t go home again!” Once you have left your provincial backwater city for a sophisticated metropolis you cannot return to the narrow confines of your previous way of life and, more generally, attempts to relive youthful memories will always fail.

VA Cane

VA - Miami sports fans have embraced The Heat because it is the one sports team in the city committed to winning.

Understood!!! It is good to win. It just is so much better winning it all in Football!!!! I think we are working on that. I cannot help it; for me its football all the time!!!!!!

VA Cane

We need to add these VA guys they would be huge get and help our team. Again they are kids and it can change, but Sweat at DE would be something. Chick has done a decent job, and is loyal. He is a great kid who is a good college player. A guy like Sweat would change the Defense and make the O account for him every play. Can you say pressure?

Lurker

Riley sucks so bad he just got Luol Deng on the cheap for two years and barring injury or collapse, almost guaranteed a nice playoff run for the Heat.

But sure, amateur beer swillers know more about how to run a professional basketball franchise, so maybe I should have checked with them before I said anything. lol

SOUP

World Cup Soccer Final: 90 minutes of no scoring.

Go Canes

We'll get Boozer after he gets amnestied by the Bulls on Wednesday.

I'd take our team over the Cavs in a playoff right now.

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2127762-after-lebron-james-departure-miami-heats-nba-debts-keep-piling-up

Also, Stephen A reported that LBJ didn't really care for Riley. Was too controlling, didn't have the vision. Mad about Miller. Wouldn't let his friends sit near the heat bench and made them sit at other end of court, etc...

I'd say Stephen A knows more than a Lurker and my original points are still valid (see that bleacher report article).

BEERicane

^by vision Stephen A was talking about having similar vision as lebron with respect to building through youth rather than cheap vets. Not necessarily didn't think his ideas for a team were wrong, just preferred a different approach.
