Lots of young talent, but plenty of it... and geez the secondary is deep!

Posted by: UMike | August 08, 2014 at 09:38 AM

Aside from Deon Bush, who in that secondary has really shown us anything? Maybe Tracy Howard, although I'd say his results have been mixed. The rest, though, are almost completely unproven. Sure, they're probably better than Highsmith. But beyond that, we just have to watch and see.

UMike

dj.. I didnt say they should be all world, just saying there is plenty of talent there, especially at the safety spot.

New article I wrote for WOS. Please click and comment:

OldSkool...U will want to see this one!

Dude on a Pale Horse

I never like Corn Elder @ CB and from the looks of it, he's having a real tough time in practice. That said, I see what the staff must see, he has really fast hips and is one of the quickest turners I can remember. I think in time, he can be really good there.

UMike

When I had my 2nd interview for this new job, there was a framed letter from President George H. Bush, that he sent to a lady that worked there back in 1991... I have to take a picture of this paragraph that read..

"We must not allow ourselves to be measured by the sum of our possessions or the size of our bank accounts. The true measure of any individual is found in the way he or she treats others – and the person who regards others with love, respect and charity holds a priceless treasure in his heart."

UMike

Whats scary... its possible they could move Gray to safety and him be the best safety on the team lol

Dude on a Pale Horse

Papa Bush droppin the knowledge.

Feeling Happy?

UMike

I might get that tatted on me.... once I get skinny of course lol

Dude on a Pale Horse

Totally agree about Gray. He might be a better safety than RB. He just has freaky talent in a frame that can play RB, WR, S or LB.

UMike

I HATE to do it... but Gray is similar to Sean Taylor in many ways

Dude on a Pale Horse

NOOOOO!!!! Why UMike, why? Why did you just do that? Why? Lol.

Yeah, I think the same thing, I've said so before, that statement is one of the hardest things you will ever type, lol.

Lurker

Dude, the U of Ohio. Unless you weren't saying that.

86Cane

I ALWAYS want the most talented guy with the ball IN HIS HANDS. If U put him on defense they just schemem away from him and he basically becomes irrelvant.

Unless of course U are Sean Taylor and then nobody can ever make U irrelevant.

EVER.

UMike

Dude.. I know man.. I know!!! I swear, even when you talk to fans of other schools, they always, at least in my experience, always praise Taylor as one of a kind. I know a few SEC fans and they couldnt say enough about Taylor when is name was brought up. Once in a lifetime player and I was blessed to see him play.

Mountain Cane

UMike, I think the new scholarship written offers are a bit different than you think. As I understand it, the school can issue a written scholarship offer after a certain date based on the prospect's class standing. . It is binding on the school for 1 year of education.. The student is not obligated so it is kind of a one way street.

What does the school get? They get different levels of access and contact than if they hadn't made the agreement.

Bottom line is that before national signing day, the student can walk and the school is committed.

Va Cane

U Mike,

Thanks for the post of that comment. G H is a remarkable kind man. That is a great saying, and we can all learn from it. Since leaving office he has been quiet, helping people and does not criticize other presidents. Amazing what he does at his age; hope I can be that way. Thanks for the words!!!!

UMike

Mountain.. I understand all that, and I see all the beneits of the Grant-in-Aid agreement, but I was readying a few places that if said player does not attend that school after signing the agreement, the school is in violation. It may not even be true, but a lot of people are talking about it. Just not sure how THAT PART works... if true.

UMike

NP VA... When I read the letter I just knew I wanted to remember those words.

Va Cane

ST 26 what a great guy. One thing I never concede; he was never a Redskin though he played for them. Should have been in Oakland the way he hit!!!!!

Always and Only a Cane....few guys we can say that about!!!!!!!

UpNorth.. tSully will probably get off the hook cause ima have the kids with me lol

Mountain Cane

Umike, there is no school violation if the kid chooses not to attend. The school can't renege.

KYcane

Don't forget my man #37 Ladarius Gunter in the defensive backfield.

Only 3 star but plays higher.

2013 (Junior): Played in 12 games, making 12 starts at cornerback ... Missed Pitt game due to injury ... Tallied 46 tackles (36 solo), 2.0 TFLs, forced fumble, three interceptions and six PBUs ... Terrance Sullivan

KYCane are U still in for the GT game my brotha

KYcane

I think we are going to see LG#37 & DC#25 lay the wood to some folks this year...hopefully to a receiver and not a RB making it past the LB's.

Whats scary... its possible they could move Gray to safety and him be the best safety on the team lol

Posted by: UMike | August 08, 2014 at 10:18 AM

I think he should move to LB. He's already 6'2" 222Lb. I guarantee he will add another 20LB of muscle under Swasey! This guy is going to be beast!

Terrance Sullivan

KYCane! Awesome its gonna be a blast.

thirstybuzzardcane

I thing Gray is already scary @ 6'2" 222LB without even 1 day of weight training @ U TOUGH!

Cane Country

Gray is best suited at RB to start out. Can be used in third down situations where he can be a threat catching passed out of the backfield.

Also take a look at my take on Brad Kaaya and his chances of winning the starting job.

Va Cane

Good to see you on the blog Canesteeler, hope all is well with you and yours. I am looking forward to a great season for our boys; if we work hard, make ourselves a few breaks, and have a little lady luck, we should have a good year.

We have a sayin here though...If is the middle word in LIFE and if a bullfrog had wings, he wouldn,t whomp his ass every time he jumps!!!!

WWIN

I would like to officially announce that I will be ending my long standing partnership with WWIN and seeking a new agent. I appreciate the years of good service, but feel it was time to move in a different direction.... as in the opposite direction of a Heat hater!!! lol

Posted by: UMike | August 08, 2014 at 06:10 AM

You still don't comprehend what a lifetime contract means???? Lol

Hey don't get mad at me, if Spo is a good coach than Larry Coker is too! You send the same hate to AG and D'no but now you wanna go all Go Canes and 30cinco on me?

UMike

WWIN... you really gonna compare Spo to AG and D'No? cooooooome on man!! lol

86.... Tsully is lucky I will have the kids lol

WWIN

UMike, what da hell did Spo do???? Coker really won 2 ships just like Spo did, so why isn't Coker a good coach?

UMike

Now about these Canes lol

86Cane
