UMike...yes, why yes indeed. I see U have your minions doing all your dyrty work for U? LOL

86Cane

I will say this though, after reading the blog through last night there was some VERY good and also some VERY funny blogging going on.

Like I tell people all the time when they ask me "How's the blog doing?" I say if Miami does REALLY good or REALLY bad it doesn't matter the blog kills. It is only when they do so-so that it slows down!

UMike

86.. they have just come to see what I saw all along haha

Let's go Canes!

I think its completely normal to have some hate (unless you are a complete Golden lover).. we all poor our time, money, energy, effort and more importantly emotion into our Canes... after so many heartbreaks its normal for hate to spring up.

dj moonbat

So, do we think the game plan for FAMU will allow Kaaya to put on his big-boy pants?

TonyCane

I understand the anger. I hate any loss. And what I have not seen is anyone defending the coaching outright. The Golden "defenders" simply argue for more time or to consider extenuating circumstances. But we all want to win and see Miami restored. Everyone needs to calm down

I think we can all agree with that and that NOBODY does it more than me, right? And I call it as I see it (See "Dumpster Fire" as RaizeCane LOL for the 10th time) but eventually U have to get over it (over yourself?) and move on. Yes, it is improtant and it means alot and it is frustrating and disappointing but it is ONLY sports after all.

I sure hope so because if I spend $300, drive 3 hours each way, sit in the hot sun and then get disappointed by UM vs FAMU there is no telling what I might say on the next blog. It could make "Dumpster Fire" look tame by comparison.

CaneRock

SOUP...seriously, you need to be a teacher.

Look, I've said this before, and I'll probably have to say it again. You Golden apologists feel besieged here (and perhaps on other blogs), but you don't need to "argue for more time or to consider extenuating circumstances."

There's only one audience that matters for those arguments -- the UM administration -- and that audience has firmly taken YOUR side on the issue. Al's got a contract that runs until 2019, and they'll have to get really, really fed up with him to buy out more than two or three of those years.

We're just a bunch of Internet yahoos blowing off steam, because otherwise the pain will consume us. We pose zero threat to Al Golden's career at UM.

So, given that your recommended course of action is the actual, official UM course of action, why can't you guys just let us be angry? Why the constant need to show us the importance of the 2015/16 recruiting classes? Why all the reminders that Al has been recruiting under a Cloud of Uncertainty? Why the links to videos of FSU playing a 3-4 defense? Why, why, why?

You won. Why can't you just be satisfied with that, and let us be unsatisfied with our loss?

Yeah, I've gotten to the point where I need to do a couple rails of angry before I can even get out of bed in the morning.

If he can't do it now, I don't see any time this year when he will.

Ohio_Cane

Very first play should be play action to duke and hitting Coley or Dorsett deep. I'll be disappointed if it's not.

I'll punch something.

UMike

deep ball should of been the first play Monday

UMike

I like A&M's offense.. ball comes out very quick and they use ALL their playmakers

Go Canes

DJ don't let the Darkside take you over.

We are all annoyed and frustrated, but you always had great humor, insight and perspective. Always enjoyed that.

You should've seen me back when I was drinkin'.

pbcfrcane13

Umike I was sooooo hoping that would be the play. That's what I would have called. So lville your hear to play!

UMike

I was ok with the swing pass on 1st down..that was the same play A&M called to get their rookie QB going. But we never really attempted to take a shot and we all now Kaaya has the arm for it. I think we will hit a few deeps balls tomorrow.... hopefully lol. I just hope we have more creativity since we have so many players that can make things happen at all positions. Also, has there EVER been a play where Gus is in that wasnt a run? If us fans know that Im sure the opposing DC knows lol

SinisterCane

I think we should be more worried about goal line defense scheme rather than a 4-3/3-4 debate

On a 4th and 1 look how far the safetys/LB's are playing off the LOS

Yes, but Gus is such an unstoppable running machine, it doesn't matter that they know it's coming.

Lurker

The first play last game, next game, or any games doesn't matter. Sometimes with a green QB, like a kid who 3 months ago was at his high school prom, you want so short sure pass to calm him down, give him confidence, and let him shake the nervousness off.

What matters is what plays you call in the flow of the game.

Last week the offensive playcalling was poor because if what was called in the entirety of the game. If the defense dares you to throw because of their calls and formation, you have to be willing to call plays to stretch that in the flow of the game.

It's about the playcalling the entirety of the game.

SinisterCane

Gus should be moved to FB, I've never seen a BIG RB get knocked on his A$$ as much as Gus

UMike

Lurker.. I agree..seems Coley doesnt have a good feel for it... like calling certain plays to combat a certain defense... almost like he is just calling to see what works like its Madden lol

UMike

Was it last year where we had formation with Gus at RB and Lewis spread wide? I must of seen this formation 50 times during the season and every time was the same play. I mean, that is optimist league stuff lol

UMike

That is why I like A&M's offense.. they went on the road with a rookie QB (not a true freshman I know) and they called a great game against a good defense. They used all their weapons, I think like 11 different players caught passes or some crazy number and the timing of the plays was great. They used USCe's aggressive D against them.

trianglecane

I hope the first play is to duke off of 74's hip... to the house. He deserves it!

I hope dorsett and coley run from the same side, with coley underneath and dorsett deep, choose your poison.

I hope the d plays more of a man zone, than a spot zone..LOL! guard that spot..

Really just frustrated with what I feel is a lack of courage by the team, and a lack of innovation by the staff.

DO BETTER CANES!! <-- smh.

SinisterCane

Anybody reviews on the new Madden 15?

30CINCO

I need to see the O Line redeem themselves. Kaaya's jersey needs to be squeaky clean at the end of this game.

I've been seeing that pic floating around ont the web, I actually gave whoever's responsible for this incompetent scheme the BOTD, and thought it was photo-shopped. I checked YT to confirm my suspicions...suspicions denied...sad :(

CaneRock

The passing game in the Louisville game was as highschool as they come. The completion to Walford was a simple "SMASH" pattern, typical Cover-2 beater...WR runs a hitch, TE runs a post-corner. It's a simple hi-lo stretch on the CB...if He sinks under the post-corner, throw the hitch...if He squats on the hitch, throw the post-corner.

The crossing route to Dorsett, was a 3 level vertical stretch. Simply, you send three WRs long, medium, & short against the FS & CB. Dorsett was the medium WR on that route. Same thing with the 1st INT...BK made a good decision, but He made a cardinal sin..."NEVER UNDERTHROW A WR RUNNING DEEP & AWAY FROM YOU."

The one where He missed a wide open Dorsett, was a simple inside-out read on the flat defender. He never went OUT on His progression, stayed locked in on Coley.

I teach my son those progressions...again, HS $h!t.

CaneRock

But next time they see a Cover-2, on the "SMASH" pattern, I would suggest to Coley to check release a RB up the middle of the field.

That way, you have a 3 on 2 advantage with your TE,WR, & RB, against the CB & FS. And 2, 2 on 1 advantages with the TE & WR on the CB, and the TE & RB on the FS.

We actually scored on this concept on the 1st TD in the UF game, and the 2nd TD of the FSU game.

Steve Spurrier was notorious for this concept in His "Fun-N-Gun" offense.

thirstybuzzardcane

So what should be the final score of the game tomorrow that will make everyone happy?....I'm calling 52-10. If we don't beat them by more than 21, it's a failure!

CaneRock

The FSMU game is a cash out game for FAMU.FAMU is maaaaaaybe one level above SSU. If we don't put 70+ on the scoreboard, it's a failure. If we can't get in our practice squad, it's a failure.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I saw in Al Golden's interview on the 3rd he said he was overriding Coley on the playcalls on Monday.
