The moment you have all been waiting for have finally, and mercifully, arrived.
Talk is cheap and easy.
It is now time to walk the walk.
Time to put up or shut up.
The shorts and shirts give way to pads and helmets under the Labor Day lights.
Your Miami Hurricanes take the field tonight in Louisville to show UM fans and the entire Nation what the 2014 team will be made of and what they will be able to accomplish under head coach Al Golden.
Golden enters his fourth year as the lead dog in Coral Gables. It is time for his team to live up to it's bark and have some serious bite if they are going to be successful in the ACC this season.
A convincing win starts the season off on the right foot, satisfies the fans for at least one week and sets the stage for a potentially breakout season for the Hurricanes.
A loss, while not crippling, puts a damper on the Spring and Summer of hope and expectations derived from excellent recruiting, improved talent and depth on the roster.
Coaching, leadership, game planning and execution will be the key operative words of the day as Miami looks to extract some serious revenge (you can forget what the politically correct say) from the same Louisville team that spanked the Hurricanes badly in the bowl game at the end of last season.
Tonight on a national stage under the lights at Papa John's Stadium on Monday night your MIami Hurricanes will tell you if they are back all the way, half way there or not ready for prime time.
We can't wait to see the message they send.
Canespace Prediction: Miami 41, Louisville 30.
Our O-line has to be sbell shocked with the constant pressure they're facing compared to what they've practiced against...

Their attacking with time left we didnt and gave the ball back. Mentality will feed into the players.

If U think this is any slight resemblance to Miami Hurricanes football you are either dumb or sleep walking.

can't open it up with a true frosh getting his first start. Jimbo even said they plan plan on opening up the offense for Crab Winston at FSU this year

I don't fault the players. The coaching sucks! Something has to change....

Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | September 01, 2014 at 09:45 PM
Defense has carried the Canes.
The offensive game plan is PUTRID!
Posted by: 86Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:46 PM
My impressions.
Kaaya:
Hes a frosh QB that is getting a ton of pressure. The shit play calling is jolding him back. Some bad passes but pressure is messing with him. 2nd half i want to see him be allowed to throw it down foeld in non 3rd and long situations.
Dno. The same coach better players. Their OK.
O: WTF play calling. Our O is better than this bit the WR screen play calling is killing us. And Coley catch the ball.
Posted by: Cane Since 1982 | September 01, 2014 at 09:46 PM
Half-time grades:
O - D+ ...two plays is about it...
D - C+ ... hanging in there, but UL missed two easy long gains
ST - F ....poor punt fielding, kick coverage, penalties
Coaching ....I have no idea what our O or D game plan is...
Posted by: longtimecanfan | September 01, 2014 at 09:46 PM
What was the halftime score last game?
Just a little perspective.
Posted by: Lurker | September 01, 2014 at 09:47 PM
OL was thought to be weak coming out of training camp.. We know it's a FACT
D has ben better..McCord should be pinning his ears back and rushing. How many times have you seen Louisville DE Mauldin covering a receiver?????
Assume play calling is based on weak OL...Flowers or Feliciano get hurt look out! mcDermott getting owned by Rankin DT
Posted by: Habane | September 01, 2014 at 09:47 PM
Kaaya not bad, Duke needs a block. The OL is slow and sluggish, pick feet up don't shuffle.
Block!!!
D has not done a bad job, got to keep pressure on QB. Eli Rogers was way too open on one play. Dammit stop the offsides penalties...HS play!!!
Stop throwing that stupid shit out to the WR...down the field with the ball.
Posted by: VA Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:47 PM
U can't just recruit, U have to COACH.
Coley ain't coahing a lick and got his QB hit HARD like 7 times in the FIRST half.
#Clueless
Posted by: 86Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:48 PM
Hey guys, long time no talk:
It's too early to tell, but here's what I see:
+:
- Kaaya is doing as well as can be expected, perhaps better.
- Good punting.
- Perryman is a one-man wrecking machine.
- Duke seems to be getting warmed up.
- Secondary is solid.
- Jenkins in two plays did more than the DT's did in four games.
-:
- Right side of OL looks bad, especially on pass protection... and it's hurting Kaaya.
- The only pass rush getting generated is when Perryman is blitzed... leaving the middle wide open.
- Penetration is lacking.
- The side to side plays don't work when Cardinal LB's have that speed.
- Four plays by the defensive line to sway the game. Better than last year, but still not enough to win a conference.
Too early to tell, as Louisville is just as flawed. I'll try to be back more.

O-line has sucked, Coley play calling sucks. Should be up by TD. Petrino will let his D win the game. Need a TO score or ST score

He must be worried that he might actually be held accountable to wins and losses?
Posted by: The Dude | September 01, 2014 at 09:50 PM
On ST if you looked 44 for LVille held the heck out of our guy....but no excuse for that play.
KLick it out the EZ every time they cannot do that. Get a leg son kick it deep
Posted by: VA Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:50 PM
All of the LBs look fat and happy, and REALLY slow. Duke looks fat and slow. The OL looks TERRIBLE. They are lost and confused and weak.
Posted by: 86Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:51 PM
Lots of things we can do better but hey we got the 2nd half lets not get too down we are in the game!!!!!! Get tough boys!!!!!!
Posted by: VA Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:51 PM
LB is in da house!
Posted by: 86Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:52 PM
OK. Here's the Hurricane combo mix for the 12er% bus. (After MANY hours of tireless experimentation... )
1/4 fresh Pineapple juice
1/4 100% Cranberry juice
1/4 Malibu BLACK (70 proof) Coconut Rum
1/4 Southern Comfort.
Vault it!
(Basically... a health food drink... ) It works... That is all.
Now, if we could just get some PUSH/BLOCKING on 'O," and some RUSH/PUSH and tackling on 'D.'
Posted by: roachcane77 | September 01, 2014 at 09:52 PM
Can someone check with the driver of the 12% bus and see if the right rear is a little low?? LOL
Posted by: raizecane | September 01, 2014 at 09:53 PM
Let's just go out and score on the first series.
Posted by: The Dude | September 01, 2014 at 09:53 PM
I give the Defense a B+
Held them to 7 pt's
3 sacks, 1 FF and about 3 hurries
Posted by: SinisterCane | September 01, 2014 at 09:53 PM
Here's my worry, this is typically were the other team adjusts to us and rolls us, whereas we come out with zero adjustments.
Posted by: The Dude | September 01, 2014 at 09:54 PM
Posted by: SinisterCane | September 01, 2014 at 09:53 PM
Yeah, some wide open WRs out there though.
Posted by: The Dude | September 01, 2014 at 09:55 PM
Why can't we just dominate, score, get turnovers and have a 21 point lead and be happy? No because that would be too easy.
Posted by: 86Cane | September 01, 2014 at 09:55 PM
Lets go Canes!
Score more in the second half.
Or else!
