Even as well as this game went, the kickoff coverage still has me holding my breath each time. All year long there has been way too much open space for the opposing return man.

I think we ALL feel that way? The angles and alleys are all wrong.

KYcane

We need Carter Hucks around full time. He is such an inspiration.

Was anybody else impressed with the athleticism Gus Edwards showed on that catch he made?

SOUP

Did anybody pick Gus The Bus Edwards as their LOF?

Dude, too funny! Lol

I wanna move back to Nashville so bad, although after last night's performance I started back looking for houses in my old area

I will have to say that 2 men/women with 2 different opinions should be able to talk without one of them name calling or getting smart with the other. If you love Golden that's your choice and if I don't like Golden then that's my choice.

For the record, I would 100% LOVE to have some continuity with our coaching staff, it's not good to keep changing coaches, it's better for the players. So I hope that Golden and D'no gets it together so that they can stick around. I WANT THEM to SUCCEED here, I NEVER hope they lose or go against them.

Soup,I want to let you know that I really appreciate this Canespace blog especially since you put the kids to bed. Now I can read about football and get the good and valuable information that I seek from the real canes fans. I also want to thank the guys that search and report all the Miami recruiting information. I live in California now and been a canes fan probably
longer than anyone one else on this blog.
When I call and talk to friends in Miami I know more then them about my beloved Miami Hurricanes.
If they make a bowl game I hope to be able to go. Hopefully meet some more of the Canespace family there. Thanks to all of you. I new in heart they were going to beat VT. It was nice to see.

EVERYBODY on Canespace is a REAL FAN! Let's get this clear, NOBODY wants the team to fail. Just because some people don't like the coach or coaches does not mean they want the Canes to fail, some of these people even believe the Canes will never lose a game and they are being called fake fans and haters. And the people that call themselves real fans don't even believe in the team and predict loses.

Somehow if a lower res version of Canespace existed in 1999, in the days of 54k modems, I strongly suspect that there would have been a similar version of the Canespace War after week 5 of that season.

WWIM/Dude... I'm thinking about maybe writing a book too! "The lost art of satire and sarcasm: how to understand tongue in cheek humor".

Was thinking id offer it for sale here are on the blog, there's a few who need it i think. Maybe we we can get a deal if we print all of em at the same shop.

I hear there's another book in the works called "the art of ignorance." Oh? What's that you say, it's called "The art of ignoring". My bad.. "The art of ignoring".

A couple 3* guys... Don't know how much stars matter, but are you hapy w that class or do you feel some recruits you'd like to see here are slipping away. I know it's way early for recruiting, I'm just curious and am not gonna pay for a recruiting site.

the days of 54k modems

Posted by: TonyCane | October 25, 2014 at 01:36 AM

Remember that weird dialup noise those modems made that would end once the connection was established?

There was actually a canes board back then, it was called grassy. This was way before message boards were common. I remember going there once or twice. Never posted of course, and don't even remember what was even discussed. I think that one eventually evolved into the scout Miami boards.

I've never really posted hardly on a canes boards until Canespace, mainly because this board is well moderated compared to others. But I've been posting on a couple of boards, financial and industry specific, for a long time. Like 6 or more years.

I used to visit a couple of the yahoo company message boards. Those are so poorly moderated the tripe and hate speech is completely out of control. I mean everyone here is an angel compared to what I read there. So bad, there was really no useful information to be had.

The Dude

Posted by: 1mg of Epi | October 25, 2014 at 01:49 AM

I think with where we are right now we have to find a few 3 star gems. Golden I think does a pretty good evaluation of who can play, Jenkins for instance was only a 3 star and the kid is obviously talented. From what I've seen of our DL guys is that their developmental guys, but we have 7 committed to play OL and that number seems really high to me. I think things will shake up before its all over.

Make sure you book on sarcasm is in LARGE font. I hear that helps.

Lurker

Make sure it's really sly and clever, too. Don't use too many big words, either.

The Dude

Other 3 star guys or less under Golden include Feliciano, Perryman, Armbrister?, Waters, Walford, Gus, Pierre, Gunter?, Dallas, Gray. Oh yeah and Crow!

The Dude

Kaaya was a 2 star lol!

It got pretty ugly up in here.

If I recall correctly, U, Sarasota, Ohio and I (maybe a few others) went down swinging in defense of Shannon until the very bitter end.

That's what makes this new scenario SO HARD to endure. We have been through this twice already, once with Coker, then with Shannon and now trying to hold back the detractors when it comes to Golden.

I don't know if I can make it through another failure and transition period. Which is why we ALL hope and pray that he figures this thing out by the end of this season or at the very latest 2015.

If the VT game proves to be the game where they turned the corner and get back to playing WINNING football and beating teams we are supposed to be CONSISTENLY, then we will be able to look back on these days and LOL.

If not...well, I do not even want to THINK about the final outcome.

I really believe UVA has a decent squad this year. They barely lost to
UCLA, gave BYU and their QB all they could handle, have beaten decent teams and played tough all year.

Should be a good game.

It was not good. Canespace turned on Shannon after the Virginia Tech loss. There were constant reminders about the negative points being asserted about the regime (favoritism to one HS, terrible recruiting ties, poor player development). 2010 was supposed to be the year that Miami contended after the promise of 2009 - the top rated 2008 class were now juniors - but they were seemingly regressing - being blown out by the Hokies and Seminoles at home and losing to the 3-4 Cavaliers on the road. People were not taking it well...

Some Hokies quotes after the game on Thursday:

“He’s got a good offensive line in front of him,” Beamer said. “And I don’t know if I’ve seen a guy run as reckless and quick as he does. He’s in that hole quick and out of that hole quick. I was impressed with him. We knew he was good. We saw it first hand tonight [Thursday].”

"I was scared to death of Duke Johnson and he proved why tonight," Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster said. "He's just a great football player.

“He’s a great back, probably the best in the country,” Tech defensive end Ken Ekanem said. “He’s a slippery guy. We knew who he was coming into the game. We just couldn’t stop him.

“Their backs were making great cuts – cuts we hadn’t seen before,” Tech defensive end Ken Ekanem said. “They have great backs, and they were making great cuts off their backs. On the backside, we weren’t flying to the ball like we should have done. They’re great backs, so credit goes to them.”
