The harder I work, the luckier I get. If winning was easy losers would do it. Soup, you will be successful, put in the time and hard work and you will reap the rewards! Go Canez!

Soup you hope we beat the Tarheel's?
We gon beat da tar out of em!
Posted by: WWIN | October 29, 2014 at 10:22 PM
I really hope we blitz the mess out of NC. The way to neutralize a running QB is to make him run. Some say sit back and force him to throw, but I see the more one dimensional you can make them the worst they play.
Posted by: Da U N Houston | October 29, 2014 at 10:33 PM
Uhhhh - not sure about that strategy. Guy's slippery, quick, also has quick feet and can run really well.
He starts picking up the blitz on your blitz heavy strategy, and we'll get torched repeatedly.
Blitzes are ok, but in a straregic way. This team isn't yet ready for us to be comfortable that missed/pickedup blitzes are going to be handled on the back end.
If it was up to me, I'd play them straight up, some blitz, some run blitz, but not frequent. Man Press them? Sure, at least some of the time, zone too. Kind of what we've already done in a few games.

WWIM...I forgot you coached AAU, I didn't mean to generalize ya'll like that. But I'm not feelin' this dude...at last year's 1st parent-coaches meeting, all this dude talked about was raising $12K. I was like..."We didn't have to raise $12K last year, why do we have to raise it this year?" Point blank, this dude's tryna hustle, He's not shakin' me down!
Posted by: CaneRock | October 29, 2014 at 10:58 PM
We have the talent edge offensively and defensively. We have like an 80-20% disparity of our offensive talent against their defensive talent. We will win every game if we run for 165 yards as a team. I sense another strong game by the Duke, Kaaya hits the throws he missed last week, and we roll to a nice win for Jim Kelly. They might have a slight edge on offense versus our defense, say 55-45% only because the QB is a special player. The line is 15 and that is a tad high to me but we should be favored by at least 8 points because of their defense struggles.
I hope people go to the game and support Jim Kelly, Jim Kelly single handedly brought this team from obscurity to immediate relevance. In 1981, Kelly engineered wins against Florida, Houston, Penn State, FSU, VT and Notre Dame in one season. Phenomenal accomplishment.
I am older now but I still remember in the loss to Texas at Texas that same year when we were royally robbed by a phantom call for PI when Eddie Brown made a break from the corner, barely touches him, caught the ball 20 yards down the field later for what would have been a tying TD but for the flag, that literally threw out of the refs pocket when it was clear it would be a Miami TD. But I am not bitter at all.
Kelly was the man. You took notice by his play. That started the beginning of the program as one of excellence and led to all the success later. He deserves the fan support for his heroism at UM, and for how well he has lived his life since the diagnosis. Class act, Class QB.

I want to say what a great job the pitcher for the team from the winning team did, but alas, I don't have expressed written consent.

SJM:
Great run down memory lane with Jim Kelly. Also, that 1981 win over Penn State was on the road, their homecoming game and against the then #1 team in the country. That game was amazing.
Trivia question of the day would be who Jim Kelly's backup was? For those who need the hints, he's pretty well-known now as a coach, and he played his hs ball in Palm Beach county.

You know I was just messing witcha! Lol
But it's shady people everywhere, even the cops! Lol
And it's a LOT of shady AAU coaches, I definitely know that! I coach HS basketball too so I got a inside look on both sides!
