This Date in Hurricanes History, October 25th, 2001...
Brought to you by the UM Sports Hall of Fame:
Freshman Frank Gore highlighted his skills in front of a nationally televised audience by rushing for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 6 carries to lead the top-ranked Hurricanes to a 45-3 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers in front of a Thursday night crowd of 44,411 in the Orange Bowl!
Miami moved to 6-0 on the year with a balanced offense and a relentless defense that held WVU at bay, including safety James Lewis' 74 yard interception return for a touchdown.
UMSHoF member quarterback Ken Dorsey also looked impressive completing 16 of 27 passes for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Canes moved back to # 1 after a 49-27 victory the week before at FSU, a spot they would not relinquish, and finish 12-0 and capture their 5th National Championship with the Rose Bowl victory over Nebraska!
Sarasota...how does it feel to be so negative all the time? I could never imagine living my life that way, but I guess it works for U?

Why should the Louisville and fsu games count against our record in the Coastal????
Am I the only one that thinks this?

Nice try Soup! We come here to blog about what Miami needs to do to get back to winning Miami style.
Sorry our opinions differ as to how we will get there, but your constant portrayal of me walking through life with a cloud over my head doesn't translate to anything based on reality.

Go Canes...we beat VT by 24 points? Wow that is impressive! I predicted we would only win by 17 and we beat them by 24. Could we have scored even more points vs The Hokies?
Posted by: SOUP | October 26, 2014 at 02:07 PM
Congrats soup!!

Why did we start running the clock out at the beginning of the 3rd qtr?
Posted by: WWIN | October 26, 2014 at 02:23 PM

I hope we don't use the 2013 UNC gameplan...I don't give a damn what they say, 500 yards will never be the new normal to me.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 26, 2014 at 02:37 PM
NFL scores update anyone?
Posted by: SOUP | October 26, 2014 at 02:44 PM

SOUP...Dolphins up...hold on, it's about to be 17-3 Dolphins, Bortles just threw His SECOND PICK 6.
And I think the Jets are still down, last I heard, Geno Smith threw 3 INTS in the 1ST QUARTER LMAO!
Posted by: CaneRock | October 26, 2014 at 02:52 PM
TB down 10-0 to Minny.
Canes with back to back plays...Hurns with a nice catch-n-run for a 1st down, and Vernon with a sack, but it was nullified by a flag. Vernon also had a blocked FG, He's ballin' out today.

If the Dolphins don't draft 1 or 2 Canes in the upcoming draft, I don't know what to say about em'.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 26, 2014 at 03:02 PM
@PrepForce1: Stanford Samuels III is the hottest recruit in the nation. Picked up offers from Miami, LSU, UGA WVU & Louisville in last 24 hours @SSIII_
Posted by: Go Canes | October 26, 2014 at 03:05 PM
Crazy stat...
The Dolphins have more yardage in pick-6s (103 yards), than they do in total offense (62).
Posted by: CaneRock | October 26, 2014 at 03:07 PM
Haha, my boys played flag football against Stanford Samuels III, man time flies. His pops is a good dude also, hope we land em'.

WWIM...I'm assuming DB, but I've read that He wants to play QB, but Ryan Stanley ("Sunshine") is the starter on that team. He plays for Flanagan, His pops is the DC, and Devin Bush is the HC. His pops was the one that decleated Roscoe Parrish in that 2003 game.

The Dolphins D has made me happy today!
