NEW BLOG IS UP!

CaneRock

^^^^^^^^^^^ Me to, Sota. Hopefully they can keep it up.

The Dolphins D has made me happy today!

Go Dolphins!

CaneRock

WWIM...I'm assuming DB, but I've read that He wants to play QB, but Ryan Stanley ("Sunshine") is the starter on that team. He plays for Flanagan, His pops is the DC, and Devin Bush is the HC. His pops was the one that decleated Roscoe Parrish in that 2003 game.

WWIN

Lurker, good convo yesterday! I didn't know you had it in ya, I don't know what da hell y'all wuz talking about but it sounded sophisticated! Lol

Usually ST.. He's a flyer

WWIN

Rock, what position does he play?

Lurker

WWIM...2017.

"Freshman Frank Gore highlighted his skills in front of a nationally televised audience by rushing for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 6 carries to lead the top-ranked Hurricanes to a 45-3 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers in front of a Thursday night crowd of 44,411 in the Orange Bowl!"

Watching this game on YT, when that defense got on a roll, FUHGETABOUTIT! Here's that game, that UM defense was trying to house EVERYTHING! they got their hands on:

Is he 2015 or 2016?

Terrance Sullivan

Congrats Soup on selling the house brotha.

CaneRock

Haha, my boys played flag football against Stanford Samuels III, man time flies. His pops is a good dude also, hope we land em'.

CaneRock

Crazy stat...

The Dolphins have more yardage in pick-6s (103 yards), than they do in total offense (62).

Go Canes

@PrepForce1: Stanford Samuels III is the hottest recruit in the nation. Picked up offers from Miami, LSU, UGA WVU & Louisville in last 24 hours @SSIII_

CaneRock

If the Dolphins don't draft 1 or 2 Canes in the upcoming draft, I don't know what to say about em'.

CaneRock

TB down 10-0 to Minny.

Canes with back to back plays...Hurns with a nice catch-n-run for a 1st down, and Vernon with a sack, but it was nullified by a flag. Vernon also had a blocked FG, He's ballin' out today.

CaneRock

SOUP...Dolphins up...hold on, it's about to be 17-3 Dolphins, Bortles just threw His SECOND PICK 6.

And I think the Jets are still down, last I heard, Geno Smith threw 3 INTS in the 1ST QUARTER LMAO!

CaneRock

You ain't neva lied SOUP, Ebron goin' off like that was ridiculous.

SOUP

Canerock...after the last several years vs UNC and UVA if I never see another TE open over the middle I might be able to RIP.

SOUP

NFL scores update anyone?

CaneRock

I hope we don't use the 2013 UNC gameplan...I don't give a damn what they say, 500 yards will never be the new normal to me.

SOUP

Thanks epi! Now time for a few more?

Lurker

Oh and BTW I sold a house today!

SOUP

Go Canes...so what you are saying is that those guys were pretty good? LOL

SOUP

Have we scored on special teams this year at all?

WWIN

Could we have scored even more points vs The Hokies?

Posted by: SOUP | October 26, 2014 at 02:07 PM

YES, and we should have! Lol

Why did we start running the clock out at the beginning of the 3rd qtr?

Go Canes

@TheU_53: 2001 Canes backfield went on to rush for 201 td 28,787 yds in the NFL and still counting. #ProCanes #NFLU

Congrats soup!!

SOUP

Go Canes...we beat VT by 24 points? Wow that is impressive! I predicted we would only win by 17 and we beat them by 24. Could we have scored even more points vs The Hokies?

SOUP

Sota...I just like to mess with U! Nothing but love for U buddy.

Sarasota 'cane

We'd be partners if I hadn't got out of the business!

SOUP

Everything I ever learned about real estate I learned from Sarasota.

Sarasota 'cane

Nice try Soup! We come here to blog about what Miami needs to do to get back to winning Miami style.
Sorry our opinions differ as to how we will get there, but your constant portrayal of me walking through life with a cloud over my head doesn't translate to anything based on reality.

WWIN

Why should the Louisville and fsu games count against our record in the Coastal????

Am I the only one that thinks this?

Go Canes

Congrats Soup and the answer is 24.

I bet it's been a long time since that's happened.

SOUP

Sarasota...how does it feel to be so negative all the time? I could never imagine living my life that way, but I guess it works for U?

SOUP

Oh and BTW I sold a house today!

SOUP

WWIM/N...I would take ALL of the money donated so far and throw one massive Canespce party, U got that right!

WWIN

Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | October 26, 2014 at 09:58 AM

I think the fsu will be the biggest game of the season for us, pretty much a championship game, so I think that's why most people are looking to that game. We have a chance to really hurt fsu's season. All games will be forgiven if Golden beats fsu lol. Even if we lose to unc but come back the next game to beat fsu who would care if we lost to unc lol? Imagine the party that Soup would throw!

WWIN

Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 26, 2014 at 11:45 AM

The game plan against VA Tech was run to set up the run lol! And it didn't help Kaaya, he was off.

CaneRock

While TOP is important, I say get a big lead like we got Thursday night, and then pin your ears back & play defense. Another way you can increase TOP for us, and limit it for the opponent, is TOs and/or consistent 3 & outs. I'm tired of protecting the defense, sudden change is a part of the game.

In the words of Ray Lewis..."GET OFF THE FIELD!...GET OFF THE EFFIN' FIELD!"

Go Canes

Defensive points allowed to common 2013 opponents so far--Louisville, Duke, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

2013--159
2014--70

Think this stat gives a good indicator of the direction this program is going, especially when you consider three of the four were night games on the road.

Go Canes

Pretty amazing stat:

@philsteele042: I cannot remember another time when#1 team in the country was last in its own league (a 14 tm league to boot!) in total defense. UK got 504

Sarasota 'cane

U could be Michigan and Brady Hoke.

Posted by: SOUP | October 26, 2014 at 10:36 AM

U could also be any number of winning programs as well with the right coaching staff.

Constantly comparing Golden to Coker, Shannon, and now Brady Hoke does not suggest that UM is "on the way back".

Go Canes

Agree with every word of that fine post by Windy.

BigWindyCane1

I hope the Canes use that VT game plan from here on out. Run to set up the pass. Although Kaaya is a good freshman QB, the Canes would be foolish to heavily rely on the freshman to make plays when the biggest strength of this offense is running the ball with the best RB in college football running behind one of the best OLs.

I think that puts Kaaya in the best position to be successful, when the Canes run first and throw off of play action. When Dorset is on single coverage, best CBs in college football cannot stay with him. Running the ball also gives the Canes time of possession and gives the D some rest.

Before the VT game, I predicted the Canes would win big and run for 300+. I could tell the coaches were confident they could run the ball successfully, and I think that will be their strategy going forward. I am probably the only one happy to see Duke in the game at garbage time because padding his stats gets him and the Canes on Sportscenter, and helps him get post season awards. Bigger stats also helps recruiting. The Canes took a huge step forward under Golden last Thursday. A double digit win against UNC next week and we are looking at closing the second half of the season at 5-1 or 6-0, and momentum in recruiting. There is no one here or coming in to replace Duke and Dorset, but the Canes will be much deeper and stronger at each position. Canes should make their way into the national conversation next season.

CaneRock

Go Canes, I agree, NU & GT are gonna do what they do. But I still don't like the defensive gameplans for those games. And I hate to keep harping on it, but that Center uncovered was just, how shall I saaaaaay...CRIMINAL?!

CaneRock

Badgley & Vogel have really stepped up.

Go Canes

Honestly don't know why you feel that way Dude. Through eight games this season no one has passed effectively against us.

When you look at the overall season, GT has scored 38 or more in 5 of 8 games, 30 or more in 6. We, along with VT, are the only two teams to hold them below that number.

We've been run on by maybe the two teams in the country who do it best, but overall we're playing good D this season.

SOUP

U could be Michigan and Brady Hoke.

I have a feeling, even though I've only seen UNC play once, Miami will go back fo the prevent.
Posted by: The Dude | October 26, 2014 at 01:24 AM

I hope not, but it seems to be our MO. Against weaker offenses they play more aggressive... More blitzes, moving guys up and some press. Against stronger Os they break out the prevent, hold blocks not shoot gaps etc. Even the second half while we were nursing the lead you could see examples of this BUT we forced turnovers. Forced being the operative word as it appears the plan is to play that soft D and force turnovers. Actually it doesn't just appear so, AG has said so.. So they did what they're tought. And it worked. We've seen what happens when the turnovers don't come.

I wasn't all that impressed w UNC yesterday, but that O has put up some numbers this year. This game has me more nervous than VT did, but I'm also hopeful that we continue to see the more aggressive side of our D.

My biggest fear though has more to do with the weather. It was cool in Bburgh Thursday night, Saturday will be a different story. I shudder at the thought of having to look at Al in a sweat soaked business shirt again. Oh, the horror!!!

Go Canes

UNC is going to score Terrance. Their QB is legit.

But if we execute the same game plan we had against Va Tech, but also mix in the passing game in space offensively, we'll win this one by double digits in my opinion.

First things first let our Canes beat UNC for Homecoming Kelly Tough Green Out and become bowl eligible before we go worrying about FSU peeps. We will have 2 weeks to talk FSU after the UNC game. One game at a time peeps. Go Canes! Beat UNC.

Va Tech -15
Pitt -18
UNC -26

Morning all, let's not look past UNC, one game season. They have a much better QB than VT! If we play the way we did against Duke and VT we will win by 10! Please play an aggressive style D and make tackles Canes! Let's go Canes!!!

Dude on a Pale Horse

I dont know CR, I guess I think he's overrated.

CaneRock

TD...He's physical:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzGAQSDlSW8

And a lucky SOB, that sucka's had 2 crashes riding motorcycles.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Is O'Leary really all that? I know he scores a lot and has good hands, but I've never thought of him as fast or physical. I'll give him crafty. Winston likes to go downfield, we have to keep guys covered and force the ball out of his hand early. Exotic blitzes and straight up beating their OL.

Go Canes

USC goes down.

Go Canes

We're going to see a lot if Grace against O'Leary I think.

He's got the size and speed to give him trouble.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I have a feeling, even though I've only seen UNC play once, Miami will go back fo the prevent.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I think Winston does a pretty good job of finding all of his guys. Best to get a hat on him, maybe Perryman can give him a concussion in the 1st qtr.

CaneRock

I'm just going off the CCRs, but from the looks of it, Carter seems to be our best TE coverage man, put His butt on O'Leary when we go man to man.

CaneRock

Take Green and O'Leary away, you win half the battle against em'...but that's easier said than done.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Well against VT I finally saw the team I thought we were capable all year. We can't slip against UNC, and I dont want FSU to lose on Thursday night @Louisville. I want to be the one to knock them off.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I think 7 WW, I think Kaaya was 7 of 15 but I cant remember.

Also field position against FSU will be a big thing. Especially in regards to where we put Wintson.

CaneRock

WWIM...I know BK had less than a 100 yards passing.

WWIN

I think we'll beat em!

Dude on a Pale Horse

Also Dukes 20+ yard gains on VT will be 10 yards on FSU. Not that Duke can't break loose, it will just be harder. Yearby and Gus will have to help carry the load, and for God's sake, no turnovers! We need every advantage we can get. If we dont pressure Winston, we are in trouble. It has to be more that just McCord and it will be a team effort to bring him down because he's really strong in the pocket and has great improv skills when the play breaks down. Mark will need to bring the kitchen sink and Al cannot let the O go into a conservative shell.

WWIN

How many passes did we attempt against VA Tech?

CaneRock

SJMPARMAN...I agree, if Duke's hot, feed em'. This team is starting to look like a run to pass team.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Posted by: SJMPARMAN | October 26, 2014 at 12:35 AM

We can only ride Duke and the running game to a point. We clearly beT VT upfront all night with our OL, FSU is another animal. We will not beat FSU without throwing the ball as their front 7 is better. We have to win down field and keep the FSU defense on their heels so we can run Duke. Unlike last year, I'm not sure if FSU has someone that can consistantly cover Walford. We need good Clive to show up.

CaneRock

TD...didn't know all those guys played together...yeah, they had a stick then LMAO!

SJMPARMAN

True story

Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse of Louisville has informed its customer that the raw bar will not feature crab legs this weekend as a precautionary measure, as Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles are headed to town to take on the Cardinals.

SJMPARMAN

We can't try to be Notre Dame and beat FSU. We have to have the VT game plan. Ride Captain Ride on that Duke train. FSU vulnerable against run somewhat and you would rather attack their front seven than their back four again like VT. We'll have a better feel for FSU next Thursday. I think Louisville has a chance of making a real game of it.

Dude on a Pale Horse

CR,

Ole Miss with McCluster, Mike Wallace, Snead was very capable '08-'09.

CaneRock

WWIM...with Duke & PD4, I'd say our chances are good. If ND almost did a number on em', I know we got a shot.

WWIN

Rock, what's our chances against fsu?

Go Canes

@YahooForde: Ohio State escapes. And is even less Playoff-worthy than before the game.

CaneRock

And real talk, I like our chances against either Mississippi team.

Go Canes

Ohio State about to go down to Penn State in OT.

CaneRock

Ole Miss has a great defense, but I've never been impressed with their offense. When's the last time they even had a good offense, the Eli Manning era?

SOUP

Golden sweats less?

SOUP

Canes got this?

WWIN

On a side note. Carter Hucks' mom is pretty hott!

WWIN

Yeah we know all of our 3 loses this year was due to circumstances, and circumstances only!
