There's definitely a problem with your spelling. Sorry, I've always wanted to be a spelling nazi. ;-)
Well, at least Tim Reynolds is reporting "prominent" people are not happy. So how's this new pres thing going to all work out? Anyone candidates yet? Hopefully someone from the south that loves football. Am I right?! ;-)

Omar did go in...from a poster on CIS:
-He said what did Al do to deserve the job. What he did at temple only merited him coaching the next tier of schools
Temple was kicked out of their own conference.
-Kids don't want to come because they dont want to play for a coach that wont develop them.
-He said that Al absolutely cannot coach
-His coaching style is cancerous
-He has created a disaster
-Can't develop at all
-He is destroying Miami's program
-Firing Coach No D is not the answer
-His recruiting is watered down.
-NFL execs are not happy with what he is doing with the players...Thinks he put too much weight on Perryman
he can't even cover in space.
-Says NFL exec's believe there is talent on this team.

Showed something different from the TO? Night game? What did you expect the TO to do throw the bomb?......what it always does...run the ball.
The excuses are not valid. We are like pigs wallowing in the mire. Very sad, but we are right where we have been since the Fiesta Bowl Fiasco....KD11 on his knees at the end foretold the future.....nothing has changed really.....very sad and disappointing for a fallen program....and these players.
Hope and Change has become Despair and Stagnation...now theres a t shirt with a UM symbol on it!!!! For sale starting tomorrow at 9 am!!!!
This is not hating it is facts. I am not saying hang Sweat Pa from a palm tree, but something has got to change. The game plans are not working; they are not even close. I ought to know and see it; so do you!!!!
In a nice note Greg Olsen catches 2 TDs, including winning TD, as his son attends game. Very heart warming.....this makes one appreciate life. Greg Olsen is one of the great guys from UM, he is a fine player and a winner. He is a fine parent, and may God Bless his family. He is using his son's situation to help others struggling as well. Good good man and family. Hope KO will get the help he needs and get back on track in life. Very Nice!!!

Golden is the most weak minded HC to ever lead the Hurricanes.
So let me get straight it's harder to play out night with no sun than to play in the scorching daytime heat. That's sound a crybaby northerner excuse but that would explained why Golden sweats so much like he just snorted 4 lines of coke before kickoff

I didn't want to go through another change, and another three to four years of waiting.. That is why i was hoping that golden would turn things around.
Golden has failed. If he pulls out every game this year, I still would have to thank hard about this fella.

triangle, at least the next coach wont have to actually rebuild, he will simply needs to correctly use the talent here and continue the recruiting efforts. Golden has brought in talent, including a good QB.

Don't think Kaaya ever needed Coley to "get him to stay" when Golden was flirting, but Kaaya is Coley's find and get, no doubt.

"triangle, at least the next coach wont have to actually rebuild, he will simply needs to correctly use the talent here and continue the recruiting efforts. Golden has brought in talent, including a good QB."
I agree wholeheartedly. With depth issues at DT, LB, and TE aside... this is a very good group of players who would thrive under better circumstances.
"When they rereleased The Exorcist I was in HS. Saw it with my GF and jumped out of my seat when the phone rings. I was on edge bad. Scary movies F with my dreams. I cant watch them."
The most frightening film I have ever seen was Event: Horizon. I was fortunate enough to see it in theatres. It's also on Netflix (methinks). Oddly enough, I've never heard it mentioned.
Although, it's not a film... the most frightening thing I've ever seen (besides D'Onofrio's defense) was 2 Girls 1 Cup. I lasted only 15 seconds.
Posted by: LB | October 06, 2014 at 09:50 AM
Actually, from what Kaaya has said, Shalala was probably more instrumental in bringing him in than Golden.
Not saying Golden didn't help, because these kids love him.

Coulrophobia, or fear of clowns, seems to be relatively common. A quick Internet search revealed 16,100 results. There are even websites dedicated to the subject, such as Ihateclowns.com, where coulrophobes gather to share their thoughts.
Clowns are common characters at Halloween events such as Universal Orlando's yearly Halloween Horror Nights, which featured a killer clown as its main icon for several years. Clearly, the fear is real.

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | October 06, 2014 at 10:36 AM
I always look for positives in everything. After this game, it is VERY hard to find those.
I felt Golden would get till the end of the season to make changes at the DC spot if needed, seems like he won't get that long. It will cost him his job if he doesn't.
There is still a second half of season to be played. While it feels like gloom and doom at this moment, there is still a chance, slim chance, but a chance to win the Coastal.

Soupers, I'm grinning from ear to ear. Not because of some sophomoric "I told you so" or because I want my team to lose (madness).

$10 million. Cost of firing Golden with 5 years remaining on his contract. That number can be offset by $ he gets in his next gig. But $10 million is a working number. $20 million to hire the next coach ($4 million per/5 years). That gets you an upper echelon HC. Remaining $5 million goes to hiring a staff. Give or take a million.
To conclude, firing Golden ends up costing UM $35 million. That's a huge whack for a private school. You can do it cheaper but that doesn't really get you anywhere. Therein lies the problem. A coaches buyout is if he takes another job. UM may have language in Golden's deal post-extension that insulates them. I'm not sure on that.
My overall point is, even if there is buyout protection for UM in Golden's deal, you are looking at $20+million to make all the moves.
My friend @ByTimReynolds tells me UM has buyout protection in Golden's deal and I trust Tim.
Still would be an enormous investment for UM. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it. Just pointing out the size of the financial undertaking if they do. Making it an above the AD decision. Final UM pt. IF they fired Golden, they would also have to do something they've never done going back to when Howard was the coach.

Do staff members have buyout clauses also?
