Laz is on QAM now. He's saying AG needs to get rid of D'Onofrio.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 06, 2014 at 04:55 PM
Laz also said regardless what we think of the coaching, go to the games and support the kids.

Golden won't fire DENO mid-season, and especially now that the Coastal is out of reach. Only way he fires him now, is if someone higher up gives him and ultimatum. Rest assured ones coming at the end of the season, if Al wants one more year here. Myself, I say purge the scoundrels out of here. If Goldie does lose his job, he can only blame himself, for not getting rid of his bro last year.

Did you notice there was not one mention of GT/UM on ESPN scoreboard. Not one!!! Not even on the scroll down below. The ship has taken on a lot of water.
McCords talk about D meetings was a riot.."you think he was talking French" "people do not know what goes on"!!!! JOKE!!!!
I do know what goes on I played when you were a twinkle in your mommys eye....and then coached longer than you been alive
What arrogance from a average guy.....I do not think any of them know a thing about D....sure did not show....
Posted by: VA Cane | October 06, 2014 at 05:15 PM
I did see a blip on Lebatard showing our guy slamming their punter....he called it a bodyslam WWF....Papi went nuts said in joking manner "you punter dont mess with the U!!!!!! The U gets you...laughing said it was the only play the U made all night!!!!!!
Then Dan said well they got the slam but GT ran them to death!!!!!
Not a big Dan and Papi fan, but even they see the deal!!!!!!!!

Miami - I grew up in Kendall and used to ride my bike to Matheson hammock. Played baseball at kland then played at ransom in 10 and 11th then gulliver for 12th. When at ransom, I ran cross country thru cocoanut grove!
Lived pretty near dadeland but the falls was my place of choice

My God! Will someone please fire this Golden guy for Butch Davis right now? We hire Butch next week and we can probably still win 7 games. Butch would be able to recruit some guys also. I know this won't happen but at the least Blake James needs to reach out to Butch and let him know he shouldn't look for other jobs. That its his come the end of the year. Since Golden didn't want to coach Randy's bowl game, if we do make a bowl have the new staff come in and get some extra practices with these kids. 2015 needs to be Butch's last hurrah! Set us up for the next 10 years. Let Butch win the 3 National Championships he should have won.

How can we put it out to Butch and beg him to not take another job before the inevitable happens? Al Golden is getting fired... fact. You can either fire him this year, or next. Either way he's getting fired. I just can't even stand listening to the guy either. ALL of the Miami media has turned on him. The fans are gone and his scheme's and otherwise terrible coaching will prevent them from ever coming back. Butch is the spark this program needs. The day The U hires Butch, there will be a great tremble in the force. Like a million college football fans just cried out at once. The U will be back, run for your lives. F*ck. Somebody just post video after video of how good we were when he was done building his masterpiece and it will be clear to you that this is the best option available. My guess is Butch can lure some mighty good coaches under his staff too. After all they see The U now, its a freaking charity case.

Watch the games!
My bad, I forgot that we are suppose to believe everything the players and coaches tell us except if they say, "we played the same defense against Duke". My bad
Posted by: WWIN | October 06, 2014 at 05:40 PM
Dude - wow I'm in agreement with everything you're saying today especially regarding butch! Heck he could bring chud in as head coach in waiting as oc, wanstead as DC, etc OR bring Schiano in as DC and head coach in waiting and keep coley and groom him properly
Posted by: AeroCane | October 06, 2014 at 05:55 PM
Look at AQM whisperer trying to convince people he has his finger on the pulse of the team over.....the actual team.
Posted by: 30CINCO | October 06, 2014 at 05:58 PM
Where did that "quit" quote even come from...why is it even being brought up...uh oh.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 06, 2014 at 06:02 PM
Exactly Aero. I want this U to start caring about winning again, but according to Manny, he doesn't get that vibe anymore. He said they're more worried about showing off their new uniforms at The U. Butch is the actual homerun hire we were promised. I'm sending out tweets to anyone that knows Butch Davis to call him and ask him to please wait for Al to be fired before taking his next job. I'm so sick of having to deal with this phony in a tie. HE STILL THINKS HIS D IS OKAY!!! STILL!!! This guy is stringing us along. Who cares what his buyout is when the next guy (Butch) is a slam dunk! So you have to bit some money... oh well, that's what happens when you screw up in business. You don't let someone continue to drive your company into the ground! You have got to make a move here. If they don't, we know where The U's heart is. It aint in winning football games. We gave Al the rope to hang himself with when he flirted with Penn State and came home with Mark. Guess what? Crack! That's the sound his neck will make when he loses to FSU and VT this year. Make a plan Blake. Call Butch, gauge what he needs. Become relevant again and be the AD that saved this program.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:07 PM
It doesn't matter if the team quit. Al quits every f*cking week when he rolls his sh*tty football team out there and tries to get jobs in the off season when he aught to be recruiting. So done with this tie that never did anything to deserve his position as HC at The U.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:10 PM
What about Rex Ryan? His style of defense would be an easier transition (from a front standpoint). Looks like hell be fired by the Jets at the end of the year.
Bring Chud to run the offense. Move Coley to co- offensive coordinator and qb coach.
Posted by: JaxCane | October 06, 2014 at 06:11 PM
What an awesome experience for the guys that are coming back, a chance to play for Butch.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:11 PM
Yep - I said it a few days ago - in the stock market, in business, sometimes you have to take 1 step back to move triple or quadruple forward! Maybe with Donna leaving we will move forward. It's sickening even listening to this Whiney loser talk. What a pos!
Posted by: AeroCane | October 06, 2014 at 06:13 PM
Rex can make a ton of money as a DC in the NFL. Butch knows this program, the area and built the greatest team ever assembled. Before anyone mentions a name besides Butch, I want you to also post a highlights video of the 2000 Hurricanes, thus showing me that you looked at that team and still decided you'd rather have someone other than Butch.
Sorry SOUP. I can't take the taste of blood in my mouth anymore. I can't bite my tongue about this staff anymore. It's nothing personal against Al. Its all about the facts. Its all about The U.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:14 PM
Does anyone have the link to Jon Linder show on 560 where Manny and him talked about the canes?
Posted by: Nick | October 06, 2014 at 06:14 PM
Its not like Al hasn't done anything for us. Like the Playmaker said he guided us through some really difficult times. But those times are over and he knew d@mn well last year he was going against the grain in keeping Mark, and then to go looking for a new job... sorry Charlie, the good graces are gone. We gave you the rope to hang yourself with and guess what you've gone and done? SNAP!!!
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:16 PM
Wow The Play Maker loves him some Al Golden. Give him time and get the right pieces and family is what makes the U, Well Big Mike, I didn't hear U make a comment about DENO, when given the opportunity, all you kept talking about is the young QB and the cloud that Goldie was under and he has earned the right. What about the Defense Mike. I think most of us, could live with Goldie another year, if he would just can DENO. You can't tell me you wouldn't want Butch, instead. When is this earning right over with?
Posted by: that was then this is now | October 06, 2014 at 06:17 PM
I understand what the Playmaker was saying and I think he's just trying to be supportive. He also criticized the gameplans too if I remember correctly. What's funny is he changed it into developing a young QB more than anything. LOL, Al Golden isn't developing any QBs Playmaker, nah bro, he's developing an abortion of a defense and is a complete amateur at doing the most basic things to win. Playmker would be the first to praise a Butch hire too.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:21 PM
TD..."He guided us through some difficult times"?
How?
By getting a the biggest payday of His career?
AFAIC, the tide public sentiment was turning against the NCAA, all Shalala & Golden did was ride it. But that's what a smart leader should do, take advantage of situations.
They gets NO! credit from me, it's people out there going through REAL! $h!t.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 06, 2014 at 06:23 PM
Playmaker is like SOUP, he's gonna do what he thinks is best to support the program. He's not going to make Al's job more difficult.
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 06:23 PM
That's fine CR. You can feel that way, I'm just saying I don't. I think Al did guide the team through 2 bowl bans and the uncertainty of probation. Now did he use that excuse to his maximum leverage and completely play it out? Hell yeah he did. He played it like a dramatic little kid when they fall down and pretend to be more hurt than they are so mommy will give 'em some love. I'm so done with the tie. 2015 NO MORE TIE.

"Do you think Duke should be bench for a week due to his recent fumbling problems?"
Hell no. Even Marty Scorsese's made a bad film.
"And EFFF that kiss A$$ Joe Rose he needs to grow some balls or take Golden's sack from his mouth and start asking him some tuff questions"
Joe Rose is the Justin Beiber of radio. I haven't listened to that stooge in years, since his days of fellatio with Randy Shannon.
"Laz is on QAM now. He's saying AG needs to get rid of D'Onofrio."
Isn't that that creepy guy from Cutler Ridge who stalks high school kids at practice?

Follow the rules 360. Tell me at least how Mario is a better candidate that Butch? Cause I don't see it. He's another project HC. He will not inspire confidence in everyone like Butch would. Alabama's line has struggled under him a lot.

In a nice note Greg Olsen catches 2 TDs, including winning TD, as his son attends game. Very heart warming.....this makes one appreciate life. Greg Olsen is one of the great guys from UM, he is a fine player and a winner. He is a fine parent, and may God Bless his family. He is using his son's situation to help others struggling as well. Good good man and family. Hope KO will get the help he needs and get back on track in life. Very Nice!!!

Well said VA. Have stayed away since the game, disappointed and sad the way it went. However, I will be at the Cincinnati game I think. Who is going?
Posted by: CGNC | October 06, 2014 at 06:45 PM
Mario, would be no better than Golden. Okay the dude is home grown, it don't make him a world beater. Butch is the man but make no mistake, if it happens or don't happen, the defensive hire and the ability to bring in some talent to our front 7 is the key, to this programs ultimate progression. The spread option gives these mediocre teams a chance to be competive but it's defense that wins you games 80% of the time and that's where the mediocre teams shouldn't beat "U".

TD..."He guided us through some difficult times"?
This is a question I have a hard time understanding as well. AL stated over and over he wasn't involved in the investigation. Other then coach the team for a little over 2 million dollars what did he do? It's not like the team overachieved.
When you say he lead us through what does that actually mean?
Deal with Negative recruiting? That's been happening before and will continue to happen.
Wasn't it the lawyers and Shalala who handled the grunt work of the investigation
Posted by: JaxCane | October 06, 2014 at 06:47 PM

That's a fair point. Al had to deal with negative recruiting and had to put on a happy face. He shopped himself twice for a new job.

...y'all didn't want him here either. ;-)
Posted by: Darth 360Cane | October 06, 2014 at 06:55 PM
Putting on a smiley face and looking for a better job is Al in a nut shell. Check his track record, that's all he do. This was easy. Then he parlayed the investigation to an unwarranted extension.
Posted by: JaxCane | October 06, 2014 at 06:58 PM
That's all fine and dandy 360. I wasn't calling for Butch to be fired because I was like 14 in '98. I had other things on my mind. I'm saying after his track record and what he was able to accomplish here, it makes him the most attractive option. If we fire Golden, I'm sure the buyout wont be comfortable for The U. Butch comes cheap enough for us. Also Miami really isn't that attractive anymore. Not right now anyways after a string of coaches have run us into the ground. Butch wants the job. Butch wants any job. God forbid he comes recruiting in our back yard and starts plucking more Giovanni Bernards from us also. TC always like to say its an arms race for 4 and 5 star guys. Well Butch recruits those guys as well as anyone and has the best eye for talent in the college game. Butch recently visited Alabama and talked about how hard their practices were, he said they were old school, no music, just relentless practicing. Guess how everyone describes a Butch Davis practice?
Posted by: The Dude | October 06, 2014 at 07:07 PM
In the day and age where college football is, I want to have the most aggressive defensive coach in all of football and that's Rex.
Posted by: JaxCane | October 06, 2014 at 07:08 PM
Al may not read the media like he claims, well he only does when he can make a point, lol. But I guarantee you someone at The U is. We need to bring this up on every message board on the internet. We need Susan and Manny and everyone writing about it. Force The U's hand. Fans have had enough of new uniforms, smart looking ties, excuses and no winning. Its not like we were Auburn 10 years ago. We were Miami for Christ's sake. Miami. This thing has to have a bottom.

Guy on tos saying if Michigan can't get Harbuagh they might go after Schiano. Dude, I love butch like the next fan but my 1st choice would be Schiano cuz he would put the fear of god in these boyz like he did @ Rutgers & like Saban @ Bama. Would love 2 see someone bring in Mike Shula as oc / asst head coach & Dorsey as co-oc. Ed Orgeron as dc, and ALL of the turds defensive assistants. Now THAT is a bomb azz coaching staff, am I rite?
