Miami Hurricanes sing to Carter Hucks on day of transplant

The Miami Hurricanes released a special “birthday” video on Thursday for 8-year-old Carter Hucks, the Make-A-Wish youngster who spent time with the team last month as it was preparing for the Cincinnati game, and then again at the Virginia Tech game.

Carter underwent a bone marrow transplant Thursday in a South Carolina hospital, and was doing well, according to UM. He underwent chemotherapy treatments earlier this week.

Ohio.. can a kid go to JUCO for like a semester and the transfer? I never heard of a 4 year JUCO lol... do they redshirt in JUCO?

It's being talked about on CIS:

"You have 5 years to play 4 years of football. since he redshirted since playing at Gattaca per the article. he will then have 4 years left"

"im guessing because Gattaca is a Junior Club and not an actual school it is a redshirt.

Washington will have four years to play four, after having used what equates a red-shirt year at Gattaca."

Washington replaces Bowman Archibald at TE in this class. There's still room for 1 more TE this year, tho. *sideeye to Devonaire Clarington*

Just heard on the radio FSU is opening as a one point favorite in Vegas. The guy said he expects professional money to start pouring in on the Canes.

Interesting.

Ohio_Cane...that Washington kid looks good, looks like Bubba Franks.

Agreed! I don't know where this kid came from, or HOW U can be a JUCO and have 4 to play 4, but he looks really good. Kid could challenge for a starting job next year. Big boy can move at 6'5, 250.

Raize i'll be flipping back-and-forth between the OSU and Bama games.

Any night where those two douchebags coaches have the chance to lose AND get knocked out of the national championship picture will get all of my attention.

Good blog SOUP. BB team should be exciting to watch this year, especially with that talented Guard lineup. That Uceda kid looks good, good footwork for a 6'10" kid...Omar Sherman has a good stroke from beyond the arc. Lookin' forward to watchin' em' this season.

JUCO TE Jerome Washington committed to UM last night. 4 years to play 4 somehow. Wow...
