Jekiri has really developed into a nice big man. I never thought he would do so. Proud of him.

I've never been to Coral Gables.. but I always read that they don't have the space. Some tropical park area I think was mentioned by Donna days ago..

Zo said it's to build a better Hecht center.

Here's a list of coaches not name Golden or Dno that should be relieved of their duties or demoted.

#1 Paul Williams - fire ASAP...Agree 1000% Maybe move Hurlie to Dbacks

#2 Jethro Franklin - fire ASAP...Agree again - thoughts on Kareem Brown moving into his position?

#3 Brennan Carroll...not able to comment on this since I did not watch WR's as closely - maybe some of the issue was Kaaya, not knocking him but maybe didn't make the 2nd & 3rd reads as quickly.

#4 Don Soldinger...LB's & Special Teams. Not known as the world beater in recruiting but gets results.

WWIM, Dalvin also wasn't penciled in as a Cane since 8th grade. Nor was he a lifelong Canes fan.

Yes, there are exceptions to that (Michel), but I don't see it happening with him. He's this years Duke Johnson, not last years Sony Michel.

Ohio_Cane

Canes up 8, 38.5 left

Canes up 10

All forms of exuberant human expression are unlawful in Coral Gables. A stadium is out. The U may find a better arrangement than the one they've got now -- it couldn't get much worse, right? -- but it will almost inevitably involve sharing space with one or more other teams.

Go Canes

Totally agree SJM, he was raw as raw can be. Larranaga has done a great, great job helping him developing his game.

Ohio_Cane

Angel to the line, up 10. 20.5 left. It's a wrap. We 8-0.

Ohio_Cane

70-61, FINAL! Canes win!

First 8-0 start since 2009.

Once the reno is done a state of the art Sunlife Stadium will be far less of a disadvantage it's been historically.

Go Canes

Good win for the Canes. Going to be a really fun season.

I am really impressed by the athleticism of the canes and the depth of the bench...weve got some ringers on this team

SJMPARMAN

JRS or Sunlife, can get loud when full. But when it is not, it hurt having sideline fans thirty yards from the field. At OB, you couldn't hear when the crowd got up for a play. Let an OL false start and it got ridiculous loud. Never heard anything like that at JRS. I am looking forward to them re-configuring it for all football. It will make a difference.

The Dude

I'm not mad at Go Canes for keeping his season tickets. Alums do that kind of thing, even when your school stops being a football school like Miami has. It's sad because Miami has so many natural advantages, you have to actually try to not win there to get where they have fallen to.

laquinton

I thought Brennan did a good job this year with the recievers. Just seems like they vanished after a good game. Coley was gone this year and that was a great question by Joe Rose.. something was up with him. Herb had a good game vs UL at the end. Berrios had flashes both good and bad..

Jethro should be gone and well as Paul Williams

Chance Womack

Jekiri slowly but surely is becoming a force. Beautiful.

These early wins will be crucial for our tourney hopes. Lets say we go into ACC play 14-0. We go 9-7 in the league. 23-7 looks pretty good for an NCAA invite. I think we can do much better than that but that is the floor. This team can beat anyone on any given night.

SJMPARMAN

TonyCane

Your first list was the most compelling. Look at the last 8 years in terms of points allowed and look at all the years preceding it. Teens versus mid to high twenties or thirty. Bottom line for me. You have to get the big uglies on defense. The beasts. The guys running backs fear to run up the middle against. We haven't had that in a long, long time.

## Former UM coach Howard Schnellenberger, who has watched a couple of UM practices and speaks with Golden occasionally, believes in Golden and likes how he runs practice but told me: “If you’re not winning, you can’t skin the cat the same way.… He needs to recalibrate and find a different way. You have to come up with something that would be new and different and positive.”

Hmm

The Dude

All football news should be projected as how the kid will help the next coach, like this: JaQuan signed his financial aid agreement, I'm stoked this kid will be here in 2016 after the new president fires Al Golden and Blake James and The Dude becomes a fan again because they hire a real football coach and care about winning again.

jcane

Angel wasn't on tonight, hitting 2-9 and 1-5 from beyond the arc. No problem. In comes Burnett to pick up the slack. McClellan continues to impress, and clearly wants to be a highlight reel. Every Illini run the U would counter with a run of their own rather than letting Illinois catch them in the second half. Are there areas to improve? Absolutely. I'd like to see better offensive rebounding, although with a lot of funny bounces with long 3s, well...harder to do. However, I often wasn't seeing much effort on these boards, leading to some Illini breaks. Some guys are still raw and improving, although as said earlier, Jekiri has showed major improvement, even since last year. He's becoming quite the garbageman, picking up the scraps for a few strong easy buckets. The team shows a lot of discipline, a lot of trust in using a team approach, doesn't turn the ball over much, and should continue to improve as more players return. BTW, props to Norland from providing us Burnett and Duke!

Agreed with SMJ bigtime. If we get through the pre conference schedule undefeated, and likely the only big test there is Providence, probably 500 in ACC play will be good enough, as long as 500 includes a few quality wins (ie can't get run over by every top 25 ACC team while just beating the FSUs in the schedule). It's looking more and more like a 23-24 W mark could be had if they keep growing and avoid the injury bug.

Night all.

Great logic.
Posted by: Go Canes | December 02, 2014 at 10:46 PM

There is no logic at all in blind loyalty. None.

Ohio_Cane

Looking like Jim McElwain will be FU's next HC.

Ohio_Cane

Are U guys arguing over whether or not another person should or should not buy season tix?

Good grief.

Canes hoops is Undefeated. Talk about that instead.

SJMPARMAN

Blind loyalty isn't necessarily illogical and most who have some form of blind loyalty have that because they have some form of love for the person or thing they are passionate about. It can get ya in some tricky situations for sure but it can also get you places you never been before. Just sayin. Life isn't a one size, shape, color, pattern - to each their own.

This I agree with

If blind loyalty were logical, they wouldn't have to use preface "loyalty" with "blind"

The Dude

Anyone know who's in the running for the presidency? Is George Clinton still an option?

1mg of Epi

How can there be any other option???

Ohio_Cane

If UM is going to stand by Golden and not force his hand on D'No, I can see Al making a couple changes after the bowl game.

I'd like to see Paul Williams gone, as well as Uncle Jethro. 2 positions that need some new blood.

The Rock should be the next president,

Seriously, why would you change anything when they are doing exactly as Al wants them to? Al thinks his staff is great. He thinks his scheme is great. He thinks he is great. What would bringing in anyone in short of a new DC do whens Al is the guy that runs the scheme with Mark? You could have Pete Carroll coaching the DBs and guess what? Same old sh*t.

Go Canes, what makes you think Al will be gone with another 6-6 season next year? Miami's administration signed him up until 2019. Is the contract somehow easier to swallow a year later?

Miami is making its relationship with its fans toxic by not making a move. The Canes will be booed relentlessly next year, Al will have things thrown at him. Every home game will have banners, they're going to get ripped in the bowl games too.

If everybody keeps going to the games and buying merchandise like normal do you think UM will ever make any changes? NO

I'm hoping this was just Blake giving Al the vote of confidence before they fire him because they're working out a deal with Butch and will announce Friday.

The Dude

When should we file the paperwork WW? Before or after bowl game. I'm already rooting for any team that is playing an Al Golden team so I can keep hearing how ridiculous he is as a HC. Should I give the admin a week? 2 weeks?

The Dude

I want the hatred for Al to be so hot that it burns down the admin building. I want people raging on the phones. Flying banners at every game. If The U wants to destroy the program, then the fans need to stop their BS by making Al's life a living hell.

We'll give em till the 15th of this month. Then we'll file if no changes are made

Glad to see JJ is sticking with the Canes... no doubt in my mind he will be the best backpedaling safety to come out of Miami in years
