It's horrible! On second thought, u may be better off just nailing your feet to the floor. Less painful.

More good news. These two, along with Johnson who's already signed his financial agreement and wants to enroll early, are going to be very good ones for us.
@CanesWarningFS: Miami commit Mark Walton made a HUGE jump in the new rivals rankings. Went from outside top 100 to 61st overall & #8 RB. Top in Canes class
@CanesWarningFS: Dexter Williams also made a big jump, went from outside the top 250 to 114th.

Go Canes.. I agree. IMO Spence is underrated and should be a universal 4-Star. Maybe it is off the field.
Posted by: UMike | December 02, 2014 at 03:09 PM
And maybe Spence thinks UM isn't very good, and somebody at UM wanted to get ahead of the story of his decommitment.
Posted by: dj moonbat | December 02, 2014 at 03:14 PM
He probably told em he's a pass catching WR not run blocking like Malcolm Lewis!
Posted by: WWIN | December 02, 2014 at 08:22 PM
Well, I sucked it up and listened to th whole Joe Rose/AG interview.
Yeah, he's EXCITED by the direction of our defense. Thinks they're doing great on halftime adjustments... Can't explain what happened on kickoffs, but our PUNT coverage was outstanding. Blah, blah, blah.
It's ALL GOOD folks, nothing to see here. He and his boys have it ALL UNDER CONTROL. Everything's getting better.
Same old "coach speak."
20 minutes that just confirmed everything we've ALL been saying here. No changes needed... we're getting better!
Oh yeah, he WAS disappointed by the whole 6-6 record thing...
Jeesch!

Roach... Disgusting isn't it?! It's absolutely maddening. They think we're all suckers. They really think we're stupid.
Keep lying to the recruits Al. Sell that dream! I'm praying when you're gone next year you leave the cupboards full..
Next year is going to be an embarrassment... Just like this year.

The Dude
The only guys Golden needs to convince that he is a winner for now are the players.
What bloggers think of him right now isn't going to make a lot of difference.
I for one am eager to see the new personality of the team.
Posted by: solarcane | December 12, 2010 at 10:34 PM
I agree 100%. He'd better not give a sh*t what I think. I dont matter. I'm just saying in my opinion he's got a short leash. If we wanted 8 or 9 win seasons we should have just stayed with Shannon or even Coker for that matter. 7-6 under Coker is the same under Shannon and the same under Golden. Its just different packaging. I'm not gonna give the new guy alot of time. The talent is there. NOW F*CKING WIN NOW!

Where's the rest of the good news?
Posted by: WWIM | December 02, 2014 at 08:42 PM
It's all good news to Go Canes. The man's got to be under serious pharmacological management, 'cause he's not like any sports fan I"VE ever met -- nothing gets him down for more than 24 hours.
Posted by: dj moonbat | December 02, 2014 at 08:51 PM
Man, our Safeties be 1000 times better by talent alone next year. Now we just need a DB coach to take them from talented skills to talented players. Pay coach T-Rob.
Posted by: Da U N Houston | December 02, 2014 at 08:56 PM
The other good news was Johnson signing his financial papers. Every indication is he's going to enroll early at a position of major need.
Unlike some of you I will be renewing my tickets and will be going to all the games. So forgive me for considering that information and our commited recruits climbing the rankings good news.

23-15, the #15 U is leading the #24 Illini with 7 min. left until the half.
Now back to the regularly scheduled Golden bashing...life's too short to spend time on this, too, all, just like wasting time at the games if it just causes you chest pain.
Go, Coach L!
Posted by: jcane | December 02, 2014 at 09:36 PM
now 25-15, with 5:30 left til halftime. Gonna go back to watching...
Posted by: jcane | December 02, 2014 at 09:37 PM
Here's a list of coaches not name Golden or Dno that should be relieved of their duties or demoted.
#1 Paul Williams - fire ASAP. Dbs can't cover find the ball or tackle with the exception of Bush. Not sure we would go after T Rob. However I believe Mike Rumph could do better than this guy.
#2 Jethro Franklin - fire ASAP. DL don't shed blockers, command a doubleteam, or beat their man off the snap. Kevin Patrick will be a very good choice to replace him
#3 Brennan Carroll - demote to special teams and he can keep his recruiting coordinator title. Wrs don't get open consistently enough with the speed we have at Wr there's no reason we can't keep the chains moving. Also he has turn our wr into smaller blocking tightends. There are better options in college football for a Wr coach. Particularly Lamar Thomas.
Tell me what do y'all think Canespace.

Canes up 35-24, 40 seconds left in 1st half
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 09:51 PM
37-24, 19 seconds left. Timeout Illinois
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 09:52 PM
37-24 at half. Canes up. Deandre Burnett leading all scorers with 12. Freshman is good.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 09:54 PM
Really impressed with the Canes..well coached .. coach L is developing talent for the NBA..I think more kids are gonna wanna play for him..

@vrp2003: The Canes won in Charleston and Charlotte w/out Burnett, Reed and Uceda. Burnett back now, Reed soon, Uceda in January. Team can get better
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 09:58 PM
larranaga is a heck of a coach and has put together a very good team.
Balanced with several excellent ball handlers who can penetrate and either pass or create their own offense.
Ball never sticks, that's huge in the college game.
Posted by: Go Canes | December 02, 2014 at 10:00 PM
If there's a better back court than this Canes team, I haven't seen it yet.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:02 PM
Canes are disciplined in their offensive movement and get the ball quickly to the weak side...that creates space for the big men and lanes to drive...you can see that Coach L is a detailed coach...
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | December 02, 2014 at 10:05 PM
This team is loaded at the guard position. I didn't realize that Uceda was coming back in January until the other day, which will be huge, as the front court will be the main area of need coming into the ACC action in 2015. Burnett is going to be a good one.
Nice little 8-2 run going into the half to pull further ahead after Illinois inched their way back in. Hopefully Coach L and his staff will be able to handle halftime adjustments and share this technique with other select coaching staffs!
Posted by: jcane | December 02, 2014 at 10:06 PM
Illinois comes out on a 7-0 run.... Timeout canes.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:13 PM
9-0 run. Rice to the line for the +1. Canes up 4
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:18 PM
We scored! 4 mins into 2nd half 12-4 run now. Canes up 5
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:20 PM
Golden: I’m looking at every facet of it, Joe. Other day we didn’t cover the ball well on kick offs. Punt coverage was good all year. Kickoff coverage post FSU wasn’t as good.
Posted by: SinisterCane | December 02, 2014 at 11:24 AM
Can't speak for punt coverage but kickoff coverage has been HORRIBLE!! all year.
Posted by: KYcane | December 02, 2014 at 10:23 PM
Dre Burnett esta en fuego! 17 pts already. Season high. Canes on 7-0 run. Up 10. 12:50 left
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:26 PM
Burnett is hitting some clutch buckets tonight, including a few 3s. Sherman needs to work on his left. When you have the open lane underneath, don't take it and then get forced to while throwing up an ugly shot....not hard to see. I'm sure coach L is working on it.

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 02, 2014 at 10:30 PM
Jaquan Johnson is the best safety the Canes have signed in a while. JJ is a real difference maker on D. A real leader. He will make the whole defense better.
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | December 02, 2014 at 10:32 PM
Omar has shot a few too many 3's. Hasn't made one.

Could not agree more. Our WR's really regressed this year. I swore Coley had to be hurt, but looking back, he was running simple routes. PD4 just flat ran by people, never any play that u say to yourself "dayum that was a great route".
This is why our pass offense sucked against teams that played off and defended the deep stuff.
Posted by: Da U N Houston | December 02, 2014 at 10:34 PM
And right when I say it, Sherman hits a 3 lol
Illinois were on a 8-0 run. Canes by 7

Should money raised be allocated to an on campus stadium or new coaches? I know I'm in the minority, but can you name one, ONE top program who shares a stadium with an NFL team. NONE. Coincidence?
Plus, it's a lot easier filling a 50k stadium then Sunlife. Yes, I know winning brings people out, and we are putting out a bad product right now, but be real folks in SoFo have multiple options for a Sat/Night.

Great logic.
Posted by: Go Canes | December 02, 2014 at 10:46 PM
Let me add a thought here. The UM remains on double secret probation by the NCAA until October 2016 I think. The AD and the BOT have faith that Golden will not commit any type of recruiting violation that would invoke the death penalty before then. And believe me, we commit a major violation again and we would definitely get it. So maybe the university isn't thinking about Al in terms of wins and losses but is more concerned with riding out the clock of probation. This is the only reasoning I have for why a move wasn't made (and I don't expect one to be). Their thinking, Al may suck as a coach but he ain't going to death penalty us. We hire some coach we don't know, and he screws up, we got the death penalty stuff over our heads all over again. They don't want to go through that again.
Posted by: SJMPARMAN | December 02, 2014 at 10:46 PM
Johnson has stated he wants to enroll early which is why he likely signed his agreement so early. Additionally, Cook may not have signed but everyone else who did the same thing did sign.
So it worked out pretty damn good.
