So Walford leads the all TE's in the ACC in the major categories, but is second team... oh ok

@ChristyChirinos: AG on the James Coley to Kentucky rumors: "Wow...that's absolutely not true at all...you're hitting me with it, no question about it."

UMike

I think Coley has been handcuffed a lot this year also coaching under a HC that plays not to lose..

6-6

I don't trust anything PR coming from UM. They do want to sell tickets you know.

For the past decade, all I can say is, their actions speak louder than their words. If the brass wanted to win, then the []_[] would already be doing it.

Did not know we still needed to rebuild to beat UVA and Pitt. We want national championships but at least give us the coastal and we still haven't done it. We've been in the ACC since what?

Go ahead. List the coastal winners and show me how the []_[] is in it to win it?

Golden put all his eggs into the Kayaa basket by not red shirting him. Handcuffed him against UL for a loss and is obviously building for 2015 cause I think even he knows 2015 is definitely his last shot. What would you do if we go 6-6 or 7-5 next year and Golden is still here for 2016?

LMAO!

UMike

In 4 years at Miami Golden has ONE... ONE win against a team that finished 8-4 or better, and that was this years Duke team. That is truly sad.

laquinton

Yeah if he is the Head Coach next year it's ACC or bust. We can b truth that process

Ohio_Cane

Did Golden get another extension yet?

UMike

lol Ohio

UpNorthCane27

Im so tired of the success lil brother (Fswhoo) having all of the success because they know that football matters and you have to make good hires and spend that cake.

Im done with Al golden, Dno, Williams, and jethro.

UMike

I keep asking myself how we manage to get worse as the year goes on, like last year, where we have an end of the year collapse, and then I remember other coaches are just smarter than ours and simply watched our game films.

raizecane

UpNorth - what makes matters worse is that FSU has had 3 DC's in 3 years and still ballin

This is the stat I've been flogging all season -- and it wasn't at all a sure thing that Duke would finish 8-4 or better until fairly late in the season.

Four seasons, and one victory over a team of any quality whatsoever. And it's Duke.

I think it's safe to say that without the lengthy contract, the confident speaking about The Process, and of course The Tie, we would have had the 'going separate ways' press conference yesterday morning. (See? I didn't even mention that Al's w****!)

"ACC or bust"?

"Next year"?

REAL TALK!...this clown couldn't even win the MAC with the team we had this season.

laquinton

Per his radio interview Golden thinks we all need to R-E-L-A-X . He said the defense went from 90th to 15th. Redshirted some guys, Hamilton,Moore . Lost some guys, Figueroa,Mohammed,Jenkins and did a great job.

dj moonbat

I love how careful the Beast is not to just open his piece "So last night, Bernie Kosar's all hammered and he calls me to talk about the whole Golden situation."

laquinton

4 years. In this day and age I myself think every coach gets 4 years. With Golden he could make a case for 5 but this year was by far his worse with better stats. Man its gonna be a long off season

UMike

the D numbers again are a lie, I dont give a shyt if we jumped up to #1, we obviously couldnt stop BAD teams at the end of the year. We had a good run against 3-4 bad teams to make those numbers look good... any decent coach that game plans for our D will expose us because we are incapable of adjustments

This "D scheme" couldn't even win the MEAC!

Exactly.

UpNorthCane27

O hellllll noooo 90th to 15th means he's proud of his girlfriend No'D!!!...

what about not stopping the run at nebraska, gtech, and pitt?

they threw the ball a combined 32 times!!!!! which means on average 10 times in each of those games and we were still defending the pass and backpedaling safeties SMDH!!!!!

I swear im about to lose it i just can't udnerstand this shytttttttt

CaneRock

And I wouldn't exactly crown Kaaya just yet, even Jacory had a comeback win against UVA His FM season. And that Lawson kid has a lotta upside, would like to see Him push Kaaya next Spring/Summer.

Join the club.

I talked a lifetime Canes fan last night by phone and he 'bout blew a gasket.

CaneRock

And He has the nerve to say the OLine depth was part of the problem...but Pitt kicked yo' @$$ with 2 Sophs & a FM on their OLine.

#U-Tough?...nahhhhh, U-Soft

UpNorthCane27

Forget about Hugh freeze leaving to any other school, just signed a contract extension with Ole Miss.

Go Canes

I think a lot of anger is warranted but I think it's being aimed at the wrong parts of our team.

The problem with this program and it's coaching staff is their inability to do whatever it takes to win on a given Saturday.

Everyone keeps railing on the yardage give it up to GT etc...when in reality that's just what they do. If I had to guess Tech probably had more rushing yards against 80% of their opponents this year than they did against us, including the 400 they dropped on ninth-ranked Georgia this last weekend.

The problem is when truly great teams like Alabama and FSU give up 40 points they score 50. When they only scored 20 they give up 17.

In today's game great coaches find a way for their team to win any type of game, be it a shootout, defensive struggle or surviving an error plagued mess.

The Pitt and UVA games were a microcosm of that. We must have left 20 points on the field against Pitt. Perfect throws bouncing off a face-mask, ridiculous penalties at the worst moments, wide-open receivers being overthrown by 5 yards and a defense that never got off the field on third down. Against UVA we gifted them 11 points but couldn't overcome those errors and outscore them and win like a great team does.

Those kind of mental and physical mistakes reflect a team who's coaching staff is not preparing it's players to win by whatever means necessary every single week.

So yes the defense this year was much much better than last years. So was our offense for the most part. But neither was at its best when it counted the most.

All of that points to coaching, not scheme.

UMike

Go Canes, I agree with most of your post, a lot of great points. However in regards to the GT game we didnt have to give up all those yards just because that is what GT does. We play them every year, we know what is coming. We got beat over and over by the same exact plays because we refused to adjust. Most stubborn staff in the country. I almost wonder if the staff doesnt make adjustments because if they do and they work, they can no longer blame the players.

CoCane

I told yall 4 years ago. Golden thinks he is a genius. He truly believes he has designed the holy grail of defensive schemes. That's why he blames the players when it doesn't work and that's why he won't adjust. Yall are thinking too hard. It's soooo simple...

UMike

CoCane.. I have believed the same for at least a couple seasons now.

The Dude

So if I plead not guilty to a ticket and the officer doesn't show up, I get out of having to pay it? What if he does show up, then what?

I think this is largely right. He and D'Onofrio have developed a defense that supposedly has reads for all the possible scenarios -- and who knows? Maybe it actually does.

What this means is D'Onofrio can call WHATEVER, since it all comes down to guys making the right reads anyway, whether the play succeeds or fails.

Now, if you're serious about WINNING, you would make sure your players were always making the right reads, or you would simplify the defense until they always made the right reads and you would handle some of the if/then complexities in the form of playcalling from the sideline.

The Dude

Remember when he was hired? So underwhelming, I'm not surprised at all about our results. We got exactly what we knew we were getting, a guy that couldn't win the MAC, with the best players in the MAC.

UpNorthCane27

heres what pisses me off!!!

A school like Wofford gave up 226 rushing yards to Gtech thats almost 100 yards less than what we did smdh...

now rushing yards don't mean shit if your not getting first downs, but they were getting first downs on the same exact run plays over and over

Go Canes

Guess good as gone may have been a stretch.

@KyleTucker_CJ: New Story || Miami's James Coley not candidate for Kentucky OC. Where is Mark Stoops in the hiring process? Latest: http://t.co/VDxSfieWsS

WWIN

When was the last time anybody seen one of our DB's break on a slant or out route?

Go Canes

Same thing with the post saying everyone wishes they'd have signed somewhere else:

@F5_Jackson: We Finna be in that ACC championship next year. Finish the bowl game .. Then it's on every single getting ready for next season #LovemySquad

CoCane

The Dude,

If he shows up, you're f*cked. You gave up jurisdiction the moment you handed him your license. It's his word against yours. The "judge" always takes the cops word. Unless you have clear evidence you were not in the wrong. If you don't have that clear evidence and the cop shows up to court, just pay up and get it over with. If the cop doesn't show up to court, the case will be thrown out...

SinisterCane

You have a 50 percent chance he will not show up.

The dude,

To add on to what my boy COKE said, that cop ain't missing the court date at all dem boys have to make that money for the city and department.
