Right on, Vfb. Unfortunately, 1 and 2 are not happenig any time soon. 2016 at the earliest, probably 2019 though.

UpNorthCane27

Relax fellas and enjoy oregon working florida st, hopefully it continues the whole game.

No need to talk shit to one another man shit is ridiculous its 2015 fellas leave that in 2014

VfB_Cane

Beer,

I think QB is #3 on our list of priorities.
1) Hire a coaching staff with plan that actually works on the field, not just in 300-page binders.
2) Go after strong and fast players who love the physical aspect of the game for OL, DL, LB and S
3) Improve talent at the skill positions - QB, RB, WR, TE, CB

Unless we don't adress #1 and #2, we'll be stuck where we are now for another decade regardless of who plays QB or whether we have a record setting RB or TE.

BEERicane

Also, Rush hour traffic is usually pretty slow going. I'm not sure it would do the damage you were hoping for.

VA Cane

Walk into that traffic blindfolded while sleep walking in your HS cheerleader uniform. Kaaya is a good kid, has a great attitude, and I admire him. He will do ok, but this coach and staff will hinder not help him. Think Joe Y enjoys watching Cook on the big stage while he got a couple touches no mention in our debacle of a bowl game?

BEERicane

Bend don't break D does work. Unfortunatey we have a bend and break D.

The Dude

Anyone not picking Miami probably has issues with grades and couldn't make it in. #notgoldensfault

VfB_Cane

Is it really necessary to call someone "Giant Douche" over and over again because we don't agree with him?
I don't think he's right either, but we should respect for someone who doesn't take the easy way and goes with the majority.

After all, different points of view are what internet blogs are all about.

BEERicane

VfB,

I agree with that. But we are nowhere near having the playmakers to make a game manager QB work. We need a playmaking QB to resurrect this steaming pile of a team we have.

Go Canes

Co, I feel the opposite, I get a kick out if you.

Your wannabe angry street guy routine is an absolute riot.

j.w.

THanks Aero, and Dude.
Beer- Kaaya is a good, young QB. So was Jacory as you no doubt remember and Kaaya reminds me of him with some of those happy feet, short arm throws. He does appear to be the best leader we have had in 15 years, but that's just tweets, real leadership needs to be seen on the field next year. That, eliminating the happy feet under pressure, and running a two minute drill are his off-season homework assignments. I think he can succeed in spite of Golden, but we'll see.

The Dude

^^^ you're assumption is that Blake has some kind of say in the matter.

trianglecane

It's blake james, who deserves the business. Goldie is just a terrible coach with a nice salary. James witnessed this fubar of a year said..."let's keep it going".

Fire James!

VfB_Cane

Kaaya has zero athleticism, can't extend or improvise, and doesn't have a big arm. I don't see why all the love.

Posted by: BEERicane | January 01, 2015 at 06:05 PM

Because he put up some pretty impressive numbers for a true freshman considering he played for one of the worst teams in the ACC and definitely the worst coached team in the conference.

He can't walk on water, though. If he had the coaching and the talent around him that Dorsey had (who had a weak arm and wasn't much of a scrambler either) he'd win a bunch of games for us.

CoCane

Giant Douche,

I loath your football ignorance. Would you please walk into rush hour traffic blind folded?

BEERicane

Kaaya has zero athleticism, can't extend or improvise, and doesn't have a big arm. I don't see why all the love.

BEERicane

Our second half meltdowns this season were on offense.

I think Kaaya will get that fixed, big time.

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:52 PM

Y? He missed a lot of throws in that bowl game too.

VA Cane

AlPa UM satisfied with 6-7 seeason, low level bowl...FSU playing Oregon on national tv first playoff chance for NC.....you are 18....where you want to play your next 3-4 years? Just curious.

TonyCane

If his process works, there's nothing for him to worry about.

TonyCane

A sense of honor? Confidence? Belief in himself? He believes in his process, so why not take the deal?

Go Canes

Our second half meltdowns this season were on offense.

I think Kaaya will get that fixed, big time.

1miamifan

If Kaaya is all that, then put the ball in his hands, and stop playing conservative. Offensive playbook is vanilla. A month of lack luster preparation with the same results as the last 3 games. I understand why some players left including Coach Barrow. Al refuses to change his schemes. Who wants to play for this coach? As much as these kids grew up loving the U, they know that they're not to be developed. How you go from playing man coverage to zone ? Smh

mi@mic@ne

Butch is on espn 2 talking about his philosophy.. damn i cant believe he is not our coach

The Dude

^^^ he'll coach the team on how overcome the challenges of night games.

VfB_Cane

I believe this young QB is going to blow up.

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:29 PM

I guess that means he will play defense, kick field goals and return punts in addition to catching his own passes.
Not to mention all the halftime adjustments he'll be making to avoid the 3rd and 4th quarter meltdowns we had this year.

BEERicane

I don't see it with Kaaya.

The Dude

Posted by: TonyCane | January 01, 2015 at 05:32 PM

Why would Al take that deal?

The Dude

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:29 PM

It's all you've posted, you must really, really believe it. Kaaya needs to for the sake of Al Golden's reputation in areas other than Miami. What's sad is that he has to take over to compensate for the HC that is being paid millions to coach a very talented team in a below average division to a 6-7 record.

TonyCane

Miami could take a different approach and offer Golden a limited contract extension. Give him a new, three year deal for 3.5 million per year that scraps the 10 year, 2.1 million deal annually. If the process is truly working, they would renegotiate again 18 months later. And if it is not, it reduces the hit that the Canes take if they go in a different direction.

Go Canes

And a great QB diwn the stretch as opposed to an average one is worth 3 wins plus.

Go Canes

I'm not trolling.

I believe this young QB is going to blow up.

Donna doesn't want to leave a financial issue on the hands of the new president by taking action and firing Al, yet she's totally willing to leave this toxic situation on their hands. Miami is frozen in the moment. Poor leadership.

Posted by: The Dude | January 01, 2015 at 03:50 PM
Agree with you. She is missing the forest for the trees on this one; by taking no action, she is dooming this program for not just next year, but the next four years with every recruit we miss. Fans quit on Golden, players quit on Golden, alumni quit on Golden, and now recruits are quitting on Golden. She f**ked this one up royally. Now is the time to fix it, or at least stop the damned bleeding.

The Dude

In Sandpoint which is just a little north, there is a pretty fun amusement park called Silverwood and of course Coeur d'Alene has a world class golf course.

Go Canes

What a comeback by Michigan State.

The Dude

My wife says don't skimp out on a camera either.

The Dude

A great idea would be to make sure your vehicles have 4 wheel drive. The snow can be real slick and the 4 wheel/all wheel drive can go a long way. SUVs are nice because of the extra cargo space. In Idaho we hunt and fish, hike and camp, ski and snowboard, everyone has a dirtbike or snowmobile or atv. When you buy your house, make sure you get a little extra space for all that extra gear you'll surely accumulate. Oh, and a garage space for every vehicle you drive regularly.

The Dude

Posted by: Canezitis | January 01, 2015 at 03:44 PM

My daughter loves the snow. We just went sledding and she loves it. She's 1. In the summer we like to hike and camp. There's just a billion places to do that up there. Coeur d'Alene can be expensive in some places, I mean like anywhere you can spend money. My uncles house is just shy of a million. He's a real estate broker of some kind. My other uncle lives in Post Falls which is really close and on the way to Spokane. Its suburban living for the most part with easy access to the outdoors.

RCCF

Why cant the players make demands of change?
Why cant the alumniCanes buy Al out?

The Dude

Dude, we're moving from the desert in SoCal, so getting used to the winters might be interesting, but we might prefer that over 115 degree heat for 5 months. Can you be outdoors year round, things to do for small children? Any neighborhood you'd recommend?

Al Golden is getting killed on Twitter today.

https://www.canesinsight.com/content/2612-The-Work-1-1

**This might be tough for Canes fans to swallow. From everything I have been told on Tim Irvin, his heart is in Miami, but it is unlikely he winds up here. Multiple people around the Westminster program tell me that Texas and Auburn are basically his final 2 with Miami on the outside looking in. As I've posted on here a few times, Irvin's biggest question about Miami is his potential position coach Paul Williams.

**Miami has felt for a while that they would hold on to Jordan Scarlett despite rumors of a decommitment swirling since around the FSU game, but that seems more and more unlikely by the day. The school to look out for here is UF. Miami knows they are a real threat and Scarlett has been telling kids that the Gators have made a move for him. The end of Miami's season really hurt their chances with him. The Canes will get his first visit so unless they lock him up their and he shuts down his other visits, it will be tough to keep him.

**Potential decommitments from Scarlett and Dexter Williams leads to an interesting situation - would Miami make another run at Jordan Cronkrite? That is within the realm of possibility. Communication between the two sides have not been active recently, but there is no denying Miami likes his talent and character a lot. The real question is would Cronkrite listen? I think there is a decent chance that he would, although Miami would really need to clear the air about what happened earlier in the process. There is a chance those bridges might be burned, but we won't know until Miami reaches out. JaQuan Johnson has been in Cronkrite's ear all week at the Army All-American bowl practices.

Nothing but chicken wire around the hundred mile border. Here comes the under the radar not rated and juccos to fill out the rest of the slots we have left in recruiting. Here comes the late pushes for players we should have been onto a long time ago. Here comes another class devoid of defensive play makers and no help at wr. Welcome to another year of 6-6 at best great, just ffing great!

Watching the Baylor, Michigan State game two well coached teams it makes me sad to see the state of the []__[] right now. Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 01:25 AM

Yes, we're finally going to be rid of phony leaders like Duke and Denzel -- probably the only two players on the roster who consistently played at a level that could have earned them playing time during the glory years.

There's an essay that you ought to read, by Princeton philosopher Harry Frankfurt:

http://www.stoa.org.uk/topics/bullshit/pdf/on-bullshit.pdf

It begins with the fantastic opening line "One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit." And it goes on to provide a thorough analysis of what bullshit IS: statements made without regard for their truth value. Lazier than lying, where the speaker tries to represent something falsely, the bullshitter seriously doesn't care what the underlying reality might be.

Everyone should read it. Blog participation will never be the same.
