What do you need to know? It's beautiful, the city has plenty to do, you need a love for the outdoors.

AeroCane

Could we just fire Golden today, and if not Butch, bring on lane Kiffin as HC with wanstead or Randy as his DC; bring Mario back as asst HC, rumph as DB coach, etc etc

Surfercane

Thanks Ohio! I'm still hopeful that the New DC will make a splash and close strong on recruiting trail! No mo D'No.

The Dude

Al Golden is getting killed on Twitter today.

The Dude

Golden has in fact become the cloud.

Canezitis

Dude, we're moving from the desert in SoCal, so getting used to the winters might be interesting, but we might prefer that over 115 degree heat for 5 months. Can you be outdoors year round, things to do for small children? Any neighborhood you'd recommend?

The Dude

Donna doesn't want to leave a financial issue on the hands of the new president by taking action and firing Al, yet she's totally willing to leave this toxic situation on their hands. Miami is frozen in the moment. Poor leadership.

RCCF

Why cant the players make demands of change?
Why cant the alumniCanes buy Al out?

My daughter loves the snow. We just went sledding and she loves it. She's 1. In the summer we like to hike and camp. There's just a billion places to do that up there. Coeur d'Alene can be expensive in some places, I mean like anywhere you can spend money. My uncles house is just shy of a million. He's a real estate broker of some kind. My other uncle lives in Post Falls which is really close and on the way to Spokane. Its suburban living for the most part with easy access to the outdoors.

The Dude

A great idea would be to make sure your vehicles have 4 wheel drive. The snow can be real slick and the 4 wheel/all wheel drive can go a long way. SUVs are nice because of the extra cargo space. In Idaho we hunt and fish, hike and camp, ski and snowboard, everyone has a dirtbike or snowmobile or atv. When you buy your house, make sure you get a little extra space for all that extra gear you'll surely accumulate. Oh, and a garage space for every vehicle you drive regularly.

The Dude

My wife says don't skimp out on a camera either.

Go Canes

What a comeback by Michigan State.

The Dude

In Sandpoint which is just a little north, there is a pretty fun amusement park called Silverwood and of course Coeur d'Alene has a world class golf course.

Agree with you. She is missing the forest for the trees on this one; by taking no action, she is dooming this program for not just next year, but the next four years with every recruit we miss. Fans quit on Golden, players quit on Golden, alumni quit on Golden, and now recruits are quitting on Golden. She f**ked this one up royally. Now is the time to fix it, or at least stop the damned bleeding.

AeroCane

JW - you make way too much sense

WWIN

Y'all know damn well Donna is doing everything in her power to win championships! If not, they wouldn't use the slogan "Building Champions". Tell em Soup!

Kaaya takes command of this team.

Royally indeed. We are about to strike out on a bunch of good players.

Gosh...this hasn't been this dark here since the earliest throes of the Shapiro scandal.

Let me guess they only lose to FSU? Kaaya needs to take control since your boy Al refuses to.by the by you're just trolling now.

The Dude

Gosh...this hasn't been this dark here since the earliest throes of the Shapiro scandal.

Posted by: TonyCane | January 01, 2015 at 05:22 PM

And this is the brightest, most rational of all sites Canes related on the web.

Go Canes

I'm not trolling.

I believe this young QB is going to blow up.

Go Canes

And a great QB diwn the stretch as opposed to an average one is worth 3 wins plus.

TonyCane

Miami could take a different approach and offer Golden a limited contract extension. Give him a new, three year deal for 3.5 million per year that scraps the 10 year, 2.1 million deal annually. If the process is truly working, they would renegotiate again 18 months later. And if it is not, it reduces the hit that the Canes take if they go in a different direction.

The Dude

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:29 PM

It's all you've posted, you must really, really believe it. Kaaya needs to for the sake of Al Golden's reputation in areas other than Miami. What's sad is that he has to take over to compensate for the HC that is being paid millions to coach a very talented team in a below average division to a 6-7 record.

The Dude

Posted by: TonyCane | January 01, 2015 at 05:32 PM

Why would Al take that deal?

BEERicane

I don't see it with Kaaya.

VfB_Cane

I believe this young QB is going to blow up.

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:29 PM

I guess that means he will play defense, kick field goals and return punts in addition to catching his own passes.
Not to mention all the halftime adjustments he'll be making to avoid the 3rd and 4th quarter meltdowns we had this year.

The Dude

^^^ he'll coach the team on how overcome the challenges of night games.

mi@mic@ne

Butch is on espn 2 talking about his philosophy.. damn i cant believe he is not our coach

1miamifan

If Kaaya is all that, then put the ball in his hands, and stop playing conservative. Offensive playbook is vanilla. A month of lack luster preparation with the same results as the last 3 games. I understand why some players left including Coach Barrow. Al refuses to change his schemes. Who wants to play for this coach? As much as these kids grew up loving the U, they know that they're not to be developed. How you go from playing man coverage to zone ? Smh

Go Canes

Our second half meltdowns this season were on offense.

I think Kaaya will get that fixed, big time.

TonyCane

A sense of honor? Confidence? Belief in himself? He believes in his process, so why not take the deal?

TonyCane

If his process works, there's nothing for him to worry about.

VA Cane

AlPa UM satisfied with 6-7 seeason, low level bowl...FSU playing Oregon on national tv first playoff chance for NC.....you are 18....where you want to play your next 3-4 years? Just curious.

BEERicane

Posted by: Go Canes | January 01, 2015 at 05:52 PM

Y? He missed a lot of throws in that bowl game too.

WWIN

Gosh...this hasn't been this dark here since the earliest throes of the Shapiro scandal.

Posted by: TonyCane | January 01, 2015 at 05:22 PM

It's sad that things got worse when the cloud left! SMH

BEERicane

Kaaya has zero athleticism, can't extend or improvise, and doesn't have a big arm. I don't see why all the love.

CoCane

Giant Douche,

I loath your football ignorance. Would you please walk into rush hour traffic blind folded?

VfB_Cane

Kaaya has zero athleticism, can't extend or improvise, and doesn't have a big arm. I don't see why all the love.

Posted by: BEERicane | January 01, 2015 at 06:05 PM

Because he put up some pretty impressive numbers for a true freshman considering he played for one of the worst teams in the ACC and definitely the worst coached team in the conference.

He can't walk on water, though. If he had the coaching and the talent around him that Dorsey had (who had a weak arm and wasn't much of a scrambler either) he'd win a bunch of games for us.

trianglecane

It's blake james, who deserves the business. Goldie is just a terrible coach with a nice salary. James witnessed this fubar of a year said..."let's keep it going".

Fire James!

The Dude

^^^ you're assumption is that Blake has some kind of say in the matter.

j.w.

THanks Aero, and Dude.
Beer- Kaaya is a good, young QB. So was Jacory as you no doubt remember and Kaaya reminds me of him with some of those happy feet, short arm throws. He does appear to be the best leader we have had in 15 years, but that's just tweets, real leadership needs to be seen on the field next year. That, eliminating the happy feet under pressure, and running a two minute drill are his off-season homework assignments. I think he can succeed in spite of Golden, but we'll see.

Go Canes

Co, I feel the opposite, I get a kick out if you.

Your wannabe angry street guy routine is an absolute riot.

BEERicane

VfB,

I agree with that. But we are nowhere near having the playmakers to make a game manager QB work. We need a playmaking QB to resurrect this steaming pile of a team we have.

VfB_Cane

Is it really necessary to call someone "Giant Douche" over and over again because we don't agree with him?
I don't think he's right either, but we should respect for someone who doesn't take the easy way and goes with the majority.

After all, different points of view are what internet blogs are all about.

The Dude

Anyone not picking Miami probably has issues with grades and couldn't make it in. #notgoldensfault

BEERicane

Bend don't break D does work. Unfortunatey we have a bend and break D.

VA Cane

Walk into that traffic blindfolded while sleep walking in your HS cheerleader uniform. Kaaya is a good kid, has a great attitude, and I admire him. He will do ok, but this coach and staff will hinder not help him. Think Joe Y enjoys watching Cook on the big stage while he got a couple touches no mention in our debacle of a bowl game?

BEERicane

Also, Rush hour traffic is usually pretty slow going. I'm not sure it would do the damage you were hoping for.
