Get ready ladies and gentlemen, here we go again!
Last year Canespace held our first four play ever and it was a resounding success.
So this year we have decided to again, but only do it bigger and better than ever. Although after our incredible trip to Miami last year, I am not sure that it may even be possible to top it?
Now before we get too far off track, for you novices who aren't in the know, the Canespace "four play" consists of attending four UM sports events in just four days. And all of them on the warm, beautiful, tropically landscaped Uniniversity of Miami campus in Coral Gables.
That's right every year from 2013 and henceforth we will be attending two basketball and two baseball games in Miami during the month of February. This year the schedule has been expanded with two days in between the sporting events for your South Florida entertainment pleasure.
Here is the schedule as it currently stands (subject to change):
Wednesday, 2/25/15: UM baseball at 6 PM and UM basketball vs FSU at 9 PM.
Thursday, 2/26/15: Travel to Florida Keys, with a lunch stop in Key Largo and then dinner and drinks in Islamorada.
Friday, 2/27/15: All day private charter fishing trip in Keys (details TBA).
Saturday, 2/28/15: Travel to UM, basketball at 2 PM vs UNC, baseball at 7 PM.
Sunday: Travel day back to home destinations.
Now if you want to be part of this Canespace extravaganza you will need to register via email by 1/15/15. Email only your most SERIOUS intentions to: canespace86@aol.com.
in my opinion, every RB decommit is a space for an extra DT. screw this RBs. Miami sends them to the NFL so no need for us been toyed with.

Not a recruiting guy but hasnt this been expected since Scarlett commited?
Seen for a while that we wouldn't be able to keep three right?
Posted by: Go Canes | January 02, 2015 at 06:56 PM
^^^ no. Miami wanted all 3. It's why Cronkrite was out.
Posted by: The Dude | January 02, 2015 at 07:03 PM
Well, I'm African American though I am not from Africa good sir.
Sucks about losing another commit. But only thing they are doing is coming up with that dumb ass slogan for the year sooo yeahh.

Yeah, Go, of COURSE they knew that they were going to lose one of them the whole time. They never even wanted this Williams kid anyway. Everything is going according to plan. It's got nothing to do with the Great Implosion of 2014.
Posted by: dj moonbat | January 02, 2015 at 07:23 PM
That's not what I'm saying. I've seen it discussed on here for a while that it was unlikely we'd be able to get all three to stick, that we'd likely get a decommit from one of them.
Last week a lot of us were discussing which two of them we expected or hoped would stick.

Yeah, the two guys we have now are the ones we wanted all along. Until Scarlett decommits -- then that Walton kid is going to be even better than he is now.

AlPa is not the only turd DS is leaving the new president.
From the Palm Beach Post..
This is a long read & not very flattering to the Administration. Just a few of the paragraphs.
"Long before the University of Miami announced in May that its Miller School of Medicine had financial problems big enough to force layoffs of about 900 full-time and part-time workers, there were signs of serious trouble.
As far back as October, billionaire car dealer Norman Braman wrote in a memo to fellow UM trustees that he and colleagues had been receiving anonymous letters for months “outlining a host of wrongdoings, mostly at the medical school.” Braman and others closely tied to the school warned UM officials the medical school was spending too much, too fast in the push to build a world-class medical center.
The expansion was occurring just as healthcare revenue — the foundation for much of the medical school’s expansion — was starting to dry up, with lower rates of reimbursement from insurers and cuts in federal and state funding.
The medical school also had major problems of its own. According to internal documents, the school suffered from bloated staffing, a faulty billing system and prices that sometimes ran much higher than at other South Florida hospitals. Internal controls apparently were weak at best: A whopping $14 million in expensive cancer drugs disappeared from a UM pharmacy over three years before an employee was charged with theft in June 2011."
EARLY WARNINGS OF TROUBLE . . . AND HOW THEY WERE DISMISSED
Signs of problems with UM’s finances go back to at least June 2011. That’s when the Chronicle for Higher Education ran an article: Fast-Growing Strategy Has Its Costs at U. of Miami. The story noted that the “expansion is looking overambitious to some” and quoted several anonymous faculty members as saying UM “promised too much and is now hustling to cover costs, even if it means taking from the poverty-plagued population that it pledged to serve.”
Shalala decried the article shortly after publication as “a shocking example of irresponsible and lazy reporting.”
"Behind the scenes, others were raising alarms. In October, Braman, a longtime UM supporter, wrote a scathing letter to fellow UM trustees: “Poorly conceived decisions by the medical school administration have put the university at significant risk and, at the same time, injured Jackson Memorial Hospital.”
Braman said UM “looks nothing like the strong institution it was five years ago,” and blamed “the poor performance of the medical school, a half-billion dollars of new debt and the depletion of almost all our cash reserves.”"

This financial trouble with the medical school seems much more serious than the financial issues with Golden.
Everything i am reading leads me to believe Golden will coach in 2015, so we must hope that we can get the best class possible under the circumstances. Canes can still close with a decent class and have a good season next year. Even a top 20 class is good enough. Only FSU and Clemson will have better classes. A few coaching changes are still possible and

And even with the departure of its talented upperclassmen, the ACC coastal is still winnable with a more united a focused team that knows who they are (and aren't). But some asst coaching changes are in order.

Miami is sending out all of these awful tweets with pictures of players from a 6-7 team. Spouting propaganda and insulting their fanbase's intelligence with crap like #wegotnext and #empirerising. Go Canes and Miami are basically trolling the fans.

Every year it's the same crap! They tell us, next year will be better since the seniors who didn't buy in will be gone and we have new leadership. LMAO
So I guess the rising seniors don't have any say so in this? So next year's seniors are stepping down and handing the keys over to two sophomores??? LMAO
