SOUP - what ended those Q&A's with Manny and Susan that were done back in the days?

Posted by: 30CINCO | December 18, 2014 at 08:09 PM

I wonder who Go Canes and 30 used to be back in da day??????? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Old Skool

Extra benefits. I wish they were equally concerned about extra detriments like losing to Pitt, UVA and Georgia Tech.

SOUP

No, No, No that ain't it.

We did at Canespace what nobody else could do.

We had an OPEN floor for Q&A in real time with real sports reporters that was montiored and cleared of spam and haters and trolls and were able to have an open conversation on the Internet about sports that had NEVER been done before or since to my knowledge.

Those were the glory days.

They passed us by.

SO WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THIS GUY???

Was a great time with 86, raizecane & Tim .... amazing seats, where exactly can you go from there for a game - except maybe sitting in the dugout with the players?

Even then, you don't get access to all the free food & drink you want, during the game, with a waitress constantly checking in on you to get whatever you needed if you didn't feel like getting up

Everything worked out perfectly, from not even missing a beat on meeting on the highway without even stopping - to taking a little secret route I know of to get to the reserved parking lots by The Trop

Ya, it might have been through a neighborhood that you might not want to hang around in for too long - but - actually it looked better than the one I live in, ha

Dick Vitale was there as well, in his usual season ticket holding seat ... even then, we were 5 rows closer to the plate than he was & he didn't get the free food and drink

Raize, Tim & I were sitting there in between innings when 86 gets up to where we think he's going to grab some food ...

When 86 comes back, he takes out his camera and says "check this out" - and, he shows us that pic of him in the tunnel behind home plate, with the 7 girls posing around him like he's "Hugh 86 Hefner" .... I bet those chicks weren't even alive when Ronald Reagan was in the final year of being President

I told 86, at least get a pic with some chicks who have a "2-" in the front of their age

These girls were probably 1 year old when Toy Story came out .... you ask them about Val Kilmer in "Tombstone" and they think it has to do with some foreign guy with frozen pizzas

Thanks again 86, it was a badass day. Got to see Carl Crawford go yard .. BJ Upton make an amazing catch by running down a fly ball that no other Centerfielder in the game could've caught - unless it was Carl Crawford possibly playing Centerfield ...... when you see him flying from ground level, it's a whole different experience to see just how much ground he can cover in such a short time

Also is always cool to hear the buzzing of the seams from the baseball and the loud pop of the mitt .. not to forget that sweet sound of the bat when it catches a ball just right and then quickly goes 300+ feet the other way

We were closer to Longo & everyone else when they were in the on-deck circle, than basically I have ever been to 95% of the people I work with. I don't get within 30 feet of some of those people - Longo as you can tell by the pic, was insanely right up on us

Raizecane, good to see you man & Tim is a good guy as well. He even said he wouldn't disrespect The "U" while around us

Speaking of which, was funny b/c on the big screen in the outfield above right field - anytime the camera would follow a Rays player from the on-deck circle to the batter's box, you'd see my hands sneaking into the bottom of the shot and making a "U" .... Raize, 86 and Tim all saw it up on the big screen

Aspect ratio wise on that big screen, it was probably a "U" that was 20 feet wide & 15 feet tall

Solar is the man. I hope he is well.

@CanesWarningFS: Dwayne Lawson RT“@dlaw95: I want to thank all the Miami coaches for the opportunity but I've chosen to go another route in my recruitment”

Ohio_Cane

Saw this coming. Too bad. Really like Lawson but he saw the writing on the wall with Kaaya ahead of him.

Go Canes

We also have what appear to be higher rated guys in 2016 and now 2017 commited.

Can't blame the kid for looking elsewhere.

Ohio_Cane

The 2016 and 2017 kids don't have to be backups for 2-3 years lol. Hope they stick

WWIN

Whatever happened to pb???????

Lol

TonyCane

One thing that stuck out to me this season - how on earth did Georgia Tech become good this season? The trend for the Yellowjackets was clearly on the decline. We had beaten them five straight times, and the rest of the ACC had caught up to Johnsons's offensive schemes.

Regular Season:
2008: 9-4
2009: 11-3
2010: 6-7
2011: 8-5
2012: 7-7
2013: 7-6
2014: 10-3

What happened?
2012:

Da U N Houston

O no, we "let" another recruit get away.

SJMPARMAN

TC

The GT offense is as good as the quarterback making the decisions. In 2008, Josh Nebitt was a legit QB and he had Jonathan Dwyer as the B Back. They dominated the front seven for over 400 yards rushing. Then GT didn't find the right QB who could throw accurately but also had good timing on the pitches. Then this Thomas kid arrives and he is good. Laskey proves a formidable B Back. They have an average defense but it plays its game of the year against us. Oh, and they also beat their rival Georgia this year as well. They were deserving Coastal champions.

It doesn't take much to win the ACC Coastal!

What happened?

Posted by: TonyCane | December 18, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Somebody thought it was a good idea not to cover the Center. And apparently Denzel was "freelancing", Al "kept tellin' Him to move up".

#thanksal

I wonder if David Thompson is willing to give football another try, kid was a damn good prospect coming outta HS.

VfB_Cane

U did a FINE job young man! How did your family like seeing themselves made famous on Canespace?

Posted by: SOUP | December 18, 2014 at 06:57 PM

Oh, they're really proud ... our family doesn't usually get a lot if media exposure in the U.S. :-)
I have to admit I'm really flattered by the "young man" part - I was enrolled at UM when we beat ND in 1989, so if you do the math ... Maybe a life full of sports makes you look younger than you are?

UMike

Canespace Rule #467
When Go Canes makes an assumption it is accurate and truthful and backed up by people close to the program. When other bloggers make an assumption it is totally made up bs.

canezilla

These girls were probably 1 year old when Toy Story came out .... you ask them about Val Kilmer in "Tombstone" and they think it has to do with some foreign guy with frozen pizzas....LOLOLOL

UMike

Sucks about Lawson, but guess we all seen it coming.

Go Canes

Rule #468

If you post something contrary to the hate mob you you're immediately called a liar, a dumbass or worse.

Just look away from the laundry list of made up crap proven incorrect here every single day.....nothing to see there.

Just keep it personal and keep chanting Bring back Butch, Bring back Butch, Bring back Butch..

UMike

So when you say people are making up stuff... are you not calling them a liar? lol

You all ready for Christmas Go Canes (assuming you celebrate, if not no offense meant)

Go Canes

9 of 10 times I try to refute with facts to the contrary. The one time I don't is usually when WW is on one of his daily trolling sessions, and even then I ignore him most of the time.

And I do celebrate Christmas and I'm ready, thanks completely to my fiancé who took care of everything. Really looking forward to this one, its the first one the two of us and all four of our kids will wake up together on Christmas.

UMike

Sounds good Go Canes... yea Im looking forward to it this year also. Last year me and my wife separated and I moved out of the nice big house and into an apt with the kids on Dec 12th, so it was uneventful to say the least.

I plan on doing the rest of my shopping (80% lol) this weekend

UMike

^^^ IDK if that is crossing the line or just funny as hell lol

Go Canes

Posted by: UMike | December 19, 2014 at 08:09 AM

As if anything on here was funnier than the little grab ass sessions he'd have with WW when they thought they had breaking news about "who I really am!!!"

Then they realized no one gives a crap and were like "Oh. Bummer."

SOUP

Oh, they're really proud ... our family doesn't usually get a lot if media exposure in the U.S. :-)

Posted by: VfB_Cane | December 19, 2014 at 04:36 AM

Well deserved and positive in every way.

SOUP

UMike...I think it was both, crossing the line AND funny as hell.

(no offense intended GoCanes!)

You guys are lucky I have worked the past 3 Christmas days all day and night it sucks being the low man on the totem pole I wish I could just do a mediocre job like golden and keep getting raises but unfortunately my job demands accountability ....

Go Canes

I have to work on Christmas.

#thanksgolden

UMike

I MAY have to work at the shelter on Christmas, but I wouldn't mind because that would mean there are boys there and not on home passes and they need some lifting up.

Ohio_Cane

I'm surprised Go Canes still posts here lol. U guys badger him non-stop haha

UMike

Ohio.. I got it the other way a couple years back when I was THE hater on the blog lol

Ohio_Cane

You're still THE hater lol jk

jsy

I was scared to post in the past fearing I would get banned for not supporting golden. I remember guys like Calvin who got it pretty hard from some ppl cuz he didn't support the golden one
