Get ready ladies and gentlemen, here we go again!
Last year the Canespace blog held our first ever "Four Play" event and we had a ridiculously good time and the event was a resounding success.
So this year we have decided to again, but only do it bigger and better than ever. Although after our incredible trip to Miami last year, I am not sure that it may even be possible to top it?
Now before we get too far off track, for you novices who aren't in the know, the Canespace "four play" consists of attending four UM sports events in just four days. And all of them on the warm, beautiful, tropically landscaped Uniniversity of Miami campus in Coral Gables.
That's right every year from 2013 and henceforth we will be attending two basketball and two baseball games in Miami during the month of February. This year the schedule has been expanded with two days in between the sporting events for your South Florida entertainment pleasure.
Here is the schedule as it currently stands (subject to change):
Wednesday, 2/25/15: UM baseball at 6 PM and UM basketball vs FSU at 9 PM.
Thursday, 2/26/15: Travel to Florida Keys, with a lunch stop in Key Largo and then dinner and drinks in Islamorada.
Friday, 2/27/15: All day private charter fishing trip in Keys (details TBA).
Saturday, 2/28/15: Travel to UM, basketball at 2 PM vs UNC, baseball at 7 PM.
Sunday: Travel day back to home destinations.
Now if you want to be part of this Canespace extravaganza you will need to register via email by 1/15/15. Email only your most SERIOUS intentions to: [email protected].

Damn near 40 bucks for a burger & beer?...is this true?
Posted by: CaneRock | January 28, 2015 at 08:55 AM
That article is funny. The only thing that is of real importance is making sure I have access to similar seats at a similar price as before.
The rest is just blah blah. Any experienced game-goer knows the price of anything is ridiculous at the stadium, always has been. It's why tailgating is soo important....and fun. Drink and eat all you want before so you dont have to buy anything inside, duh.

I still have 3 in stock but my inventory is running low and them suckers are hard to find!
Posted by: SOUP | January 28, 2015 at 08:55 AM
Morning Spacers....so much info to discuss!
Although I think we will lose more than a few of these 2016 kids, it is still good to see a VERY good class right now. Whoever the coach is in 2016 and beyond will need that talent.
I don't think Nike "walked away" from us because of the loosing, but I do think they may not have wanted to pay that much more for a down program. They obviously stayed with us through many ups and downs and just last year gave us new unis, so no way they just dropped us. But Adidas gave a hell o an offer and Nike probably didnt see the need to match. Oh well
I normally dont watch college bball, but great wins by our Canes!

WEDNESDAY BUZZ COLUMN
With National Signing Day a week away, UM has assembled a solid 11-man offensive recruiting class, especially at running back and on the offensive line. But there are unresolved issues at receiver.
+
### Michael Irvin told NBC-6/WQAM sportscaster Adam Kuperstein today that Al Golden "has earned the right to see this through" and UM fans "need to calm their assess down and let the process see itself through."
He said it would be foolish to make Brad Kaaya learn a new system. "Building a championship takes time and we're in the midst of a very good process."

Charles Perry is in! He's on campus and enrolled

LMAO! @ Michael Irvin. This is the same guy that said "We Back", after watching RS's team run a few gassers.
Posted by: CaneRock | January 28, 2015 at 09:11 AM
A big beer is $12 and a burger costs about $10.
Whoever came up with those numbers is probably the guy who started the "Lets make stuff up" epedemic sweeping through South Florida.
If you want real perspective, you want to know how many people give more than $1500 to the Hurricane Club?
1200
More than $3000
600
More than $15000?
200
No one is going to get screwed in this move, unless it's a tragedy to get moved 5-10 yards over if you're at the 50 in exchange for not roasting your ass off in a seat near the front.
You actually have to have a big season ticket base for anyone to get messed up. That article is stupid and written by a complete moron.

Perry's gonna be a good one. It takes a rare athlete (think RL52 & ST26) to be equally effective as He was, on both sides of the ball in HS.
Posted by: CaneRock | January 28, 2015 at 09:39 AM
If Perry played the game and went to all the camps etc he would easily be a 4-Star. He stayed committed and quiet and it "cost" him is star rating, but when your scholly is secure it dont matter.

ohio , you mention A. Talan a few times ,why is he so high on your list ,do you think he is that good ,I have checked around a few areas for info on him , is he committed else where.

Posted by: Go,GoCanes! | January 28, 2015 at 09:15 AM
They are absolutely trying to insinuate that we need to donate more to secure our seats. Whether or not we actually have to isn't the point.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | January 28, 2015 at 10:34 AM
He is uncommitted. Do yourself a favor and watch this: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1603592/...ghts/210064413
That's why I want him. Because his tape is fantastic. He's brutal against opponents.

Sheeit , young man is on everyplay just about , any reason he wasn't offered.
Posted by: Demons | January 28, 2015 at 10:43 AM
I mentioned this yesterday, does the staff do anything creative like blue shirting or gray shirting? It would seem that the scholarship reductions, as small as they are, would be managed pretty easily if they did. There would be no reason to turn away any talent.. Which I find hard to believe they do anyway.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | January 28, 2015 at 10:44 AM
bleacher report has 5 Canes going the top 45 of the draft yet this team had a losing record and is on 4 game losing streak.

Only God and Golden know. I hate it, though. He should be a Cane. My best guess is that he's too "small" at 5'10", maybe 5'11"
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | January 28, 2015 at 10:46 AM
No they're giving you the option to give more if you want to move up in level and secure better seats.
What in the world is wrong with that?
Posted by: Go,GoCanes! | January 28, 2015 at 10:46 AM
Epi, That would mean kids want to play here so bad that they're willing to go prep for a while and wait to come in the following year.
We haven't had the luxury of gray shirting, with our lack of depth and lack of winning.

Thought that, he look a little light, maybe about 190 if that much ,isn't perryman about that tall , he adds some weight and don't lose his hustle he would be crazy mad good.

Sounds like he is stubborn on how he coaches, and want his asst to coach the same way , when he is coaching at Pennsylvania tech in 2016 none of these asst's other than NO D will be with him.
Posted by: Demons | January 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM
Ohio.. A blue-shirt doesn't have to wait a year, and can be granted the Scholly as soon as he gets to campus. Wouldn't it make sense to blue-shirt a kid of lesser talent and give the 4-5 star guy scholarship immediately? Doing so pushes that scholarship to the following year, and should allow for Al to take Any talented late addition he wants. There is really no excuse to not take a talented player.
From ESPN
A blueshirt is a player who arrived on campus as a "preferred" or "recruited" walk-on and goes on to earn a football scholarship. The NCAA doesn't allow for schools to produce written promises of scholarships to walk-ons, but that doesn't stop a school from telling a prospect who walks on that an offer is coming after a certain point.
"There are a couple of different ways you can award a blueshirt scholarship," one Big 12 coach said. "We'll have some cases of a player arriving for the start of fall practices, and we'll then immediately put them on scholarship after the end of fall camp, then count the scholarship forward - against the 2015 class, for example - and announce them on the following signing day.

Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | January 28, 2015 at 11:27 AM
Epi, I hear U, but you have to have a kid willing to do that, and recruits haven't exactly been beating down our doors for the last few year. Not elite ones, anyways.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | January 28, 2015 at 11:28 AM
Oh, and we've given out a couple preferred walk ons in the last couple years. Don't ask who, because I forget names, but we have.
