The modernization of Sun Life Stadium is moving ahead, and Miami Hurricanes football season ticket holders will experience a new game-day environment and amenities with the kickoff of the 2015 season.
Sun Life Stadium will be remodeled and redesigned into a state-of-the-art sporting venue with enhanced comfort for fans, significantly improved concessions and concourse areas, multiple premium seating areas, and new technology inside and outside of the stadium.
The extensive renovations will significantly decrease the total number of seats at Sun Life Stadium and will impact all season ticket holder locations.
The Renovations Plan
The majority of the renovations will be complete by the start of the 2015 season. Stadium improvements include:
- New and more comfortable seats as well as expanded room between rows
- More seats closer to the playing field
- Improved concourse and concessions on both the lower and upper levels
- Increased number of premium seating areas and enhanced club seating options
- State-of-the-art video boards in the four corners of the stadium (complete by 2016)
- Partial roof over the stadium, providing more shade and weather protection (complete by 2016)
- Renovation and update of the 200 level club concourse (complete by 2016)
How the Renovations Will Impact Your Seats
The renovation plans are extensive and sections, rows and seat numbers will change, as will the entire configuration of the stadium. Additionally, there will be a significant decrease in the total number of seats in the stadium. These changes will result in all season ticket holders being able to select their new seats during the upcoming Miami Hurricane Select-Your-Seat process.
Select-Your-Seat Process
Every season ticket holder will be assigned a day and time in which they can select their seats, accessible through our online system, over the phone or in person at the Hecht Athletic Center. The order of selections will be set by your 2014 Hurricane Club giving level and your rank within your giving level.
Your 2014 giving level is determined by your total 2014 Annual Fund contribution. Your rank within your giving level is determined by your priority points, which are calculated by your gifts to athletics, consecutive years of athletics giving and consecutive years of season ticket purchases.
If you are a season ticket holder that is a not a Hurricane Club member you selection date will occur after all Hurricane Club Members and be ranked by tenure as a season ticket holder.
Can't wait for it. I am making a suggestion that us Canespace FAM sit together this season. Go Canes

Sit together? If you guys want to sit together you better get to buying your tickets SOON!
That place is gonna be a BOOM town. ALL of the guys I've been going to the games with the last few years are renewing, and ALL of the extended group we tailgate with are renewing. That's a couple dozen people, and no reason to believe we are the outliers.
Keeping Al was GOOD business.

86, remember what I said about if/when Al lost Scarlett? Well, he did. I pull no punches until he's gone now. Thank the good lord he didn't pick FSU. D'No can't handle Cook, no way he could take Scarlett. He'll be better than Cook soon

Posted by: SinisterCane | February 02, 2015 at 09:55 PM
Patience, grasshopper. First we need that 2016 swag class -- 'cause even Al's not going to pretend the 2015 class is good enough to win that many games. And really, until they get an indoor practice field to go along with the training table, you can't realistically expect even those 2016 swag boys to win more than, say, nine games. But by then, things should probably be clicking quite nicely. We won't ever beat FSU, but c'mon -- everybody knows ESPN is going to schedule the FSU game at night.
But it's okay, because wins are hard to come by in the ACC. It's a process.

If we can replace Scarlett with Williams & Julius (package deal), add Norton AND Scott at DT, plus grab 1-2 more DB's (Lewis & Redwine?), and maybe 1 more LB (TALAN!!), I'll feel WAY better than I do right now....

Y r we blaming golden for losing Scarlett? Seriously, is it his fault? I'm asking a serious question because I'm not sure. I thought we fought hard to keep him. He looks like he flipped to the turds because of depth in our back field. He's also looking @ Walton & williams coming in.
No matter, he's going to transfer after he gets injured two years in a row with two losing seasons.
Posted by: AfriCane | February 03, 2015 at 02:38 AM
We blame Golden because blaming Golden is what we do!
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 03, 2015 at 03:05 AM
Anyway! With our losing record, I still think we r doing well with a top 25 recruiting class. Just don't know y DTs r always a problem though. Again, the issue is not even getting a 5-star. A 7-star couldnt help if we can't coach him up. What I really would like is assembly a roaster of obscure no star talent that are angry and coach 'em hard to inflict pain on college football and then stick a finger up to the recruits that have snubbed us over the last 5 years.

Good question/point.
From what I've read, Jimbo lost Scarlett, too...the FSU crowd thought they had em' locked up. If you believe these "we let this kid go, to make room for this kid" stories, then FSU let Frasier go, to make room for Scarlett...so Scarlett actually trolled 2 schools LMAO!
With Williams still in play, UM's in a better position at RB recruiting heading into NSD.

If UF finishes how I've read they're reportedly slated to finish...and if UM adds the players that you mentioned, then recruiting for the Big 3 can be ranked like this in the end:
1.UF
2.UM
3.FSU
BTW: I don't see FSU having a strong finish this year.

Marcus Lewis:
"Defensive back Marcus Lewis was scheduled to announce his commitment on Tuesday February 3 but some other schools have come into play. The Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga stand out had narrowed down his extensive offer sheet to Kentucky and Miami but now Florida State and Texas have become major players for the Rivals100 prospect. Lewis is tentatively scheduled to announce some time on Wednesday evening but there is a possibility he takes an official visit next weekend and announces a commitment next week. He could still use his last two official visits.
There are a number of bits of information to consider. IMO Kentucky was the favorite over Miami but Florida State poses the biggest threat. Florida State becomes a much bigger threat if the Noles miss on Iman Marshall and Minkah Fitzpatrick on Signing Day. He could possibly commit to Florida State without taking an official visit.
Texas just officially offered Lewis Monday night and some more research needs to be done by Lewis before the Longhorns are considered a serious option.
Going to be an exciting few days."

Posted by: AfriCane | February 03, 2015 at 02:38 AM
I'm not blaming him for losing Scarlett. I'm blaming him for allowing Scarlett to guide (or even dictate) his approach to the OTHER two running backs who now aren't in the class -- despite the fact that there were persistent rumors that he was playing games.
Also for losing 7 games last season in the course of a pathetic collapse, which is not a good way to help your recruiting.
Posted by: dj moonbat | February 03, 2015 at 07:04 AM
I am seeing a pattern with these recruits, we find them ,then other schools start getting videos of them , signing day comes and they start bailing in an around signing day , its like we are prepping them , I wonder to what extent are these young guys relating their departure from their commitment, and how does an 18 year old tell a grown man he changed his mind after all the time and money put forth to get them to sign, also what's the response from said grown man.
Posted by: Demons | February 03, 2015 at 07:05 AM
I understand the process of visiting other schools , but when a parent or just a kid tells me he is going to do other visits that's the process, but when a parent or kid tells me he is 100% committed , and then at the last min changes your mind , don't blow smoke up my A&& and tell me you liked it better there , we all dam well know their money , the toys and gifts are way bigger ,when you see a yout standing next to a 2014 challenger bama running back henry , you wonder how in the hell does a 19 year old afford such a car.
Posted by: Demons | February 03, 2015 at 07:12 AM
This is like dating , you go out with a woman , all of a sudden she don't want anything to do with you , do you as a man want her to come tell you well I met someone else because he has a better car , better job , junk is bigger , , or would you rather her call or text you that its over end of story .

We will never see that. Al can't coach that way. DTs don't come here because they're asked to to plug holes allowing a LB to make a play. They aren't supposed to get in the backfield, sack a QB or make a play. Why would a DT sign up for that?
Al knows how to coach slow kids w less talent playing faster naturally talented foes. That's why we use the schemes we use, and that's why defensive talent stays away (mostly).
The quicker u guys realize Al is incapable and the quicker the entire fan base demands some change, the quicker maybe something happens. Maybe.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | February 03, 2015 at 07:43 AM
If we looked at this from any other perspective than being a Miami Hurricane, we'd be looking at losing players as in "saving another human being from the education of Al Golden."
Oh, and a friend of mine (who actually cares about recruiting) linked me to this on CIS:

We have to win to keep these recruits, and IMO change the scheme to get DT's and quality defenders, but Golden cant win, sooo
