reasons y Al golden is gone if he doesn't win next year; no one in the history of coaching survives past the 5th year if they r not producing in a power house program. The 2016 no. 1 class must be saved at all cost. New president.

Preach:
Saw Norton play in the high school game at the end of the season in Boca Raton. He played both ways and was very athletic. He even carried the ball as a fullback. I loved his swag and had a good ffeeling about him coming to Miami (perhaps wishful thinking). The Canes have some players on D. Despite scheme, I think the D will be very good in 2015 if they can avoid critical injuries. I think their defense will attack more and they have some players that can make plays. If Bush stays healthy, he is the leader and all ACC. DL is deep. JJ is the best safety from South Florida, and I would take Knowles over Irvin any day. We are deep and experienced at CB. LBs started to play better with Hurley. Not only will they have a top 10 defense, I expect them to be near the top in critical defensive stats like turnovers and 3rd down efficiency. A good defense can carry the Canes to a coastal division championship.

Good, thoughtful post.
I agree the we have players on D. I am curious though how, or maybe why you divorce the scheme from results? The defense is built to give up yards. I know some of you believe that I just spew negativity, but in fact the defense is bend don't break by design. It's very difficult to have an elite 3rd down defense when that defense places linemen and LBs in position to make first contact 4 yards downfield. It's even tougher for linemen to make drive stopping plays, sacks or TFLs when playing in position means standing up and holding a lineman in a gap. This isn't a shot at players or coaches, it's simply the realities of our defense.
You say you believe the players will attack more, but that is not a decision the player makes... If the player does his job, then he will read, react and make contact 4 yards out in the open field and alone.. Which is why good tackling is so important in this scheme. If the tackle is broke, there will not be help to make the stop and the ball carrier will gain those killer YAC.
So my question is what leads you to believe the D will be improved? If the argument is simply experience, I'd have to say that experience will not change the fact that executed perfectly the D will still allow 12 yards after 3 downs.
This is an honest question, I'm not trying to bust balls.

1. Cloud was real.
2. Cloud prevented us from winning 3 or 4 games in 2014.
3. We still lost another 2-3 for no reason whatsoever.
4. Well that is not completely true. We lost one game because RaizeCane was there. We lost another because I wore the wrong shirt. We lost another because it was at night and it was dark and we were afraid.
5. That is all.

Having sworn off Miami football, I am too much of an addict to not follow signing day. I think this is a good class overall, and borderline outstanding on the offensive side of the ball. The O Line signings were nothing short of outstanding. The defensive players are much better than I thought was possible under the circumstances. I got to credit the staff for the signings. Nice job.

Well this is the first time the herb has had an opportunity to speak about this so so class. It's a shame, once upon a time we had 4 stud rbs verballed and end up with one, thank god for reclassification or I guess we would have struck at that position. Got one wr and had to go to easyanna to get him. How in the hell with all the speed in the state do you not get one player? At least we got norton. It's pretty sad with all the star power in the state, all we can do is watch other teams stampede our borders and take what they want. Now I know how Travis felt at the Alamo. We have officially made it to the negative side of the top 50 teams in the nation. How far must we descend before the powers that be hear our cries for help. By the way stars do matter, look at the last 5 years in recruiting and see who year end and year out are your top teams. No they won't win every game but at least they give themselves a chance with the way they haul in the top talent.

When we were great, truly great, we didn't win the recruiting war until we played on the field. Alabama would win every year if the guys covering high school players games, and projecting them to the NFL hall of fame were correct. They aren't. 5 star talent in these guys eyes can be a predictor of result. But when you have a team of destiny out to make a name for themselves, it doesn't matter. We haven't been that team of destiny for long time.

Your not listening Linda, listen Linda listen. Y'all are thick headed big time. I was in Wally world up here in Boone NC with my U sweatshirt and hat getting all the looks. Go Canes is right about one thing, we are the game everyone in the ACC circles on the schedule. So even after they fire Golden, the next coach has to be able to motivate the players into believing that our coastal counterparts matter the same as fsu. That's hard because I had zero parties at my house other than FSU and Vagina Tech. Imagine if you a player who just lost to FSU and your coach says c'mon lets beat Virginia, yeah man fuck you. That's tough. Its like saying hey everyone we are working on Christmas day for the same pay and have to meet productivity. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

1. Yup.
2. So, if the cloud caused the losses, that means we were out talented. You watched 4 teams that were faster, stronger, tougher.... More talented than us? I'm curious which teams they were.
3. No reason whatsoever = coaching
4. Dammit soup!! Get your wardrobe straight!
5. Just a little more.....
This actually could be interesting.. Name the teams that were more talented, I along with the horsemen, can see if we can come up with some schematic/strategic changes that might've changed the outcome. We can end the debate once and for all!!

So let me get this straight...
A few months ago rumors of Willis transferring was shot down by people saying UM doesn't deal with players like him, but now it's all good??? LMAO
The only reason UM took him was because they struck out on so many other players! Another new low for em! Don't get me wrong, I like him and I'm cool with taking him but it's not UM's thing to do.

Let's look at the total number of 4/5 star players on the roster post Signing Day:
Miami 4/5* players on the roster, record:
2006: 46 (7-6)
2007: 42 (5-7)
2008: 42 (7-6)
2009: 41 (9-3)
2010: 39 (7-6)
2011: 28 (6-6)
2012: 21 (7-5)
2013: 22 (9-3)
2014: 25 (6-7)
2015: 28
Miami loses three (2 to early departure, 1 to graduation) and replaces them with 6, including the transfer of 5-star player Gerald Willis. A stronger class could have really boosted Miami's overall talent quotient, as it was an unusually low number of 4/5 star players leaving this year (due to the low ranked 2011 class). After the conclusion of the 2016 season we could see as many as 6 depart, meaning the 2016 class will have to have at least that many players just to keep even.

He also talked a lot about players getting bigger (i.e.: slower).

Wrong.

Try again, TLuv.
"James is 203 pounds right now, was about 186 at our camp, watched him grow, watched him develop, so we’re excited about him."
"RJ [Richard] McIntosh might be the most underrated player down here, a guy that we got to know when he was 245 pounds. He’s now 278 pounds, a basketball player, athletic."
"He’s doing great. He’s already 245 pounds and our trainer’s trying to slow him down."

Did we not have room for Willis in 2014?
