As blogs go, Canespace really isn't something all that special. It is just a place where some Miami Hurricane fans happened to find their way together.
We have laughed, loved and at times cried at time by how our team's played, how their performance did or did not match our standards, and even how our own lives and issues may have intersected with the sports events of the day.
And in spite of our differences, there is always one thing that brings us back home. The fact is that we ALL bleed orange and green and we all want the Hurricanes to win. Well, that and the fact that we ALL love "The U".
Let us remember that going forward on this blog in the spirit of understanding and cooperation so that we can move our dreams towards the more important vision of many more victories and the national championships that will follow.
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!
GO CANES, AND GO CANESPACE...
45 points in 2nd half, most of it in last 8 minutes. Phenomenal effort. And those refs were ridiculously bad. Great job C-A-N-E-S!

Wow! Can't believe that second half, or more so, the last ten minutes. Officiating? What you gonna do? However, some crazy bad shot selections most of the game, and no 3 point shooting....but great rebounding and FT shooting. At least they found a way to fight through a game that barely saw a bucket for the U a 1/4 of the way through the game, just like happened vs. NDU, except this one the U found a way to win. Great to see Coach L and the team get the trip to MSG and the NIT semifinals. It may not be the NCAA tnmt, but they've won 3 games against very solid competition and beat a very good Richmond team on a poor shooting night on the road. So, to paraphrase Soup from the diamond, CANES WIN!

I felt like we should have been a tourney team. We were 10-8 in the ACC and the three bad losses were balanced against four solid wins, Florida, Syracuse, Duke, and Pittsburgh up there when they knew their season was on the line. Super close calls against Louisville and if I remember correctly, at UNC. Our loss in the ACC tourney was to the champs and we lost be 7 lower than everyone else lost to them. But the committee favored the big 12 and we got shafted. I think our wins in the NIT coupled with the conference performance in the Dance showed how wrong the committee was.
With Rodriguez, this was a pretty special team at times. But they have been pretty good even with him on the bench. Jekeri has been a beast on the boards, and on defense. Larranaga needs to send him to Hakeem Olajuwon over the summer because if he ever developed a solid offensive game around the rim he could be very dangerous next year.
I hope we can seal the deal in NYC. It would be nice to be champion of something in football or basketball again. Go CANES.

Word of caution to SOME bloggers...
Do NOT fall back into your old ways (a few seem to be headed that way). Be positive, future focused and brave. Do not return to the same old conversations, those are done and history.

I had to step away from the game, but it's good to come home, log in to CaneSpace, and find out that the CANES WON! YASSSSSSSSSSS!

Do Not think for one minute that this is just going back to what it was a week ago. It is not. I trust Ohio and UMike to run the show but if it returns to a cesspool of hate I will shut it down in 3, 2, 1...

Hoping I don't jinx it, but an NIT championship trophy would look nice in the trophy room

Coach L threw the hammer down in the second half...completely adjusted in every facet; benched starters dogging, went full press and ordered attack mode......for the win. Great coaching job in a nerve wracking game.
I'm telling u all that these Bball games since L arrived are a much better product than the Fball team....by far.

Thanks...I thought they played a good 1st half, they did a good job on the defensive boards, but those shots just weren't falling. When Richmond hit that last second layup, I thought it was gonna be 1 of those nights. But it's good to hear that the kids rallied back. On to the next one!

Soup my apologies if that was directed @ me. I was reflecting on if we had gotten coaching right with the inside promotions of Coker or Shannon just like Oregon. Wasn't trying to start on that path.

And also, u shouldn't shut the blog down for rogue bloggers. U ban them. More fair to the others.

Best comeback of the year in college basketball. Very impressive! This is how a team learns how to be a winner. They fought hard, stuck to coach L's plan, andnever gave up. I am proud of this pperformance. This team has found its identity.

@mattyports: On Stacy Coley, who last scored a TD in a game 481 days ago and dislikes that fact intensely: http://t.co/3hADqOKh0L http://t.co/MmzQhauWv1

@AustinSapin: #Canes are now 9-3 in their last 12 games. Their only 3 L's came vs Louisville, UNC & Notre Dame. All 3 of those teams are in the Sweet 16.

Three straight wins in the NIT are tough. Would love to see that NIT banner hanging from the banners at the BUC. Canes are very capable of winning the NIT. Everything starts on D.
