This blog is to announce that Willie Will In Missouri (also know here commonly as WWIM), and formerly as Willie Will In Nashville (WWIN), has officially been fired as my agent. Simply put, the time has come to move on.
Now, let it be known that WWIN/WWIM represents many, many famous and popular bloggers here on Canespace. His ability to represent them in contract negotiations and defending them in difficult times cannot be questioned.
However, after taking a recent trip to the 305 and the University of Miami campus in Coral Gables, I have to formally announce that I have a new, and much better agent, to represent me at Canespace.
This particular agent has a much better history and reputation in representing high profile athletes (much like myself in the blogging world) and he definitely offered better perks that WWIM could never match.
So with that I introduce my new agent, and to let you know former UM DE Allen Bailey approved it, my new agent is the one and only...Drew Rosenhaus!
We threw up "The U", then did some other business, and then walked away very happy. But that is what happens when U follow the traditional Canespace rules:
U show up, U stay until the end, and then very good things are going to happen!
Wow:

Preston Brown 108 (967 snaps)
Chris Borland 100 (454 snaps)

Straight from Shaq Quarterman's dad:
Up Voted! 6 Down Voted!
Nobody is committed until NSD...There is always a possibility to flip ....Shaq included... But I'm here to tell yah Shaq is Miami's to lose... If Miami went 6-7 that still would not rattle Shaq's commitment...The problem would be if the BOT decided to replace the current staff with someone we don't get the warm and fuzzy with ...no track record ...he could flip... Shaq will visit UF Auburn Alabama and would like to see LSU Michigan and Ohio State ....again recruiting is open until NSD..We will go to UF Saturday and be in Miami next Wed Thur Fri and Saturday. This a decision that he will have to live with..I'm here to help...and try not to influence with any bias...he is getting all these Cane gifts...I tell him somebody will be wearing it regardless....

This is what the hoops team needs to get out of it's players for maximum success next year...
Point Guard
Jaquan Newton needs to beat out A-Rod and become the starter. Newton is just as quick but bigger, more athletic and has a higher ceiling. A-Rod has shot under 40% his entire college career. As a red shirt junior, he shot his worst % ever. It's what happens when you give a bad shooter the green light to jack up bad shots. He built a state of the art chimney for santa to slide down with the bricks he put up this season...
Shooting Guard
Lecompte is a 5'10 SG. He doesn't have the vision to be a PG. So Burnette and Palmer need to develop and bury him at end of the bench. Burnette is 6'2. Palmer is 6'5. They both have more talent and potential. McClellan needs to get aggressive. I didn't see any other Guard in the ACC with his combination of size, athleticism, perimeter shot and defense. If he steps up, he'll be 1st team all conference and a 1st round draft pick.
SF
Davon Reed has the potential to combine with McClellan and be the best wing tandom in the ACC and maybe the country. He's 6'6, athletic and shoots the 3 at 40%. He has the same problem as McClellan. Not aggressive enough. He needs to bring it next year.
PF
Kamari Murphy will be eligible next season. He's. 6'9, athletic and brings a ruggedness and hustle that we haven't had since Julian Gamble. Omar Sherman will provide depth a stretch 4 game that should improve.
C
Jekiri has improved every season. He blocks shots, rebounds and hit the 10 - 15 ft jumper. If he adds a couple of post moves and start dunking instead of laying it up, he'll be a problem. Uceda is a junior. He is what he is. A stretch 5. Hopefully he can be more consistant.
If the team makes these improvements. They will go dancing in 2016 and make a deep run. Even deeper than 2013...

Lady Canes open up on 3/20 vs. Washington, in what would appear to be a competitive game, with #11 seed going up against #6 UWash in Iowa. Interestingly, the lady Canes are in the bracket with NDU as the #1, with NDU being from Miami's conference and having a loss at the lady Canes' hands. The Canes would have to go on a crazy out of their mind streak for that to matter though, as they wouldn't get to the Irish until the elite 8, and would have to likely get through the #2 from their bracket, Baylor, to get there. Unfortunately, I think the U is good, well-coached and overmatched. There is a decent shot at one win, but I wouldn't bank on a big run. Still, they're in the tnmt, so kudos and good luck...

CANEZ play the 3rd hardest schedule
http://www.philsteele.com/Blogs/2015/MAR15/DBMar13.html
Posted by: SinisterCane | March 16, 2015 at 09:34 AM
Strength of schedule in CFB is bunk. There is too much turnover each year for year over year comparisons and the talent differetial between leagues is too great. 6-7 in the SEC is not 6-7 in the ACC. There are even large differentials between divisions.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | March 17, 2015 at 09:08 AM
Whether it's bunk or not U can't call it a candy arse schedule either. And let's not act like the ACC is the Sun Belt now it ain't the SEC but it ain't bottom feeders either. So it's also Bunk when the SEC plays 4 lollipop non conference games but no one complains about that though. Smdh.

Morning Spacers
Posted by: SinisterCane | March 17, 2015 at 09:37 AM
Sorry TS but the ACC-C is the bottom feeder of the power 5. The fact that you have to look to the sunbelt to make your comparison I think says it all.
That the SEC refuses (mostly) to schedule quality OOC games is not a good look. One of the things I've always loved about our canes is the anybody anywhere mentality.
My comment was really meant to point out the silliness in comparing one squad to the prior years version, which can go both ways. There will be a number of teams who are better this year than last, as well as teams better last year than this. Not to mention that victories (or losses) aren't 1:1. These comparisons while sometimes accurate can just as often be an exercise in futility.
It was certainly not my intention to offend you. If you would like to talk thru these feelings I am here for you.

Is Joe Robbie Stadium/Pro Player Park/Pro Player Stadium/Dolphins Stadium/Dolphin Stadium/Land Shark Stadium/Sun Life Stadium about to have a name change? It should.
On January 18, 2010, the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Financial reached a five-year agreement for the naming rights to the stadium formerly known as Joe Robbie. That deal paid the Dolphins $7.5 million per season, for a total of $37.5 million. Counting the years since that deal, it should be set to expire this upcoming weekend.
The timing was perfect for the Dolphins, who were coming out of a one-year contract with Jimmy Buffett and Anheuser-Busch for the stadium to be called Land Shark Stadium after Buffet's beer, and for Sun Life Financial, who put the name on the stadium just weeks before the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl were held in the stadium. At the time, the benefits to Sun Life Financial, in terms of exposure and name recognition, was estimated to be worth $26 million.
Of course, Sun Life Financial could renew their agreement with the Dolphins, but at the end of 2011, the Canadian based company pulled most of its United States based operations, and said they would not be extending the agreement.
Jumping back to January 13, 2015, we should be days away from the naming rights agreement ending, and Sun Life Stadium becoming something else. Whatever that is, from reverting to some form of Joe Robbie Stadium/Dolphins Stadium/Dolphin Stadium or if a new naming rights deal is in the works, the name of the stadium currently undergoing major renovations should also be updated.

Well Sun Life will stay the name this season and by the Fall of 2016 before the start of the 2016 Canes and Dolphins Football seasons. Their will be a new sponsorship name. BOL the Orange Bowl wasn't on our campus either but that was funny as hell hahaha. Good one the Dude hahaha.

They have plenty of talent...
McClellan 4* top 50
Burnette 4* top 50
Reed 4* according to scout.com
Newton 4*
Sherman 4* top 100
Murphy 4*
And the lone recruit coming next year SF Anthony Lawrence Jr. is a 4* top 100 player.
The rest of the team were 3* coming out of high school. It's not on the level of UNC or Kentucky but it aint no slouch...
