University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame member Coach Ron Fraser will be honored with the Dedication of a "Larger-than-Life" bronze statue in a ceremony outside of Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field at 4 PM on Friday. We hope you can attend to document this honor for The Wizard of College Baseball!
Also, Coach Fraser's second National Championship team, the 1985 Hurricanes, will be honored in a pre-game ceremony before the Canes take on FSU.
I just have to wonder, was Muschamp the only coach to do a worse job than Golden?

There were a ton of teams that underachieved this past season, not just ours.

Sorry to shut down the call, as I don't give up the Canes easily, but tonight isn't their night. Hope I'll be proven wrong.Posted by: JCane | April 25, 2015 at 08:48 PM
I know J, had a bad day on the job yesterday and couldnt bear the strain of watching that beat down.

This is true but the Canes have underachieved for several years while supplying the NFL with draftable players, additionally all those team that underachieved made changes "TCU"

Canes get swept by FSU, death by errors.
Apparently they had nothing left in the tank after the 17 inning marathon friday.
The despicible Mike Martin is no doubt gleeful for ruining the Wizards weekend but he can have his small victorys because even though he is 3rd in NCAA wins and 2nd in winning percentage he has 0 National Championships.....lets hope it stays that way!
The Canes however since 1973, have been one of college baseball's elite with 23 College World Series appearances, winning four national championships (1982, 1985, 1999, 2001) and advancing to the NCAA regionals a record 42 consecutive

Dem Canes!!!

4-0 Da Good Guys. Go Canes. Beat the Noles.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | April 26, 2015 at 01:42 PM
Now this is a game I can live with. Collins with a 2 run shot in the 4th makes it a 10-0 game, with the Canes scoring in each inning so far. Abreu had a 3 run shot in the 3rd. Good power showing so far today. Nice to see them come back without their tails between their legs after the heartbreaking loss Fri night and the next day beatdown. Let's at least send a message, and hopefully jockey for better regional/superregional positioning with a good ACC tnmt showing.

Iskenderian singles, bringing home Eusebio, now 11-0 in the 5th. The problem is that no matter how much we batter the Noles today, they still get the series win. Sigh.....

Is the BB game on TV?
Posted by: CaneRock | April 26, 2015 at 03:14 PM
Eusebio struck out to end the 6th, leaving two runners stranded. First inning without a run put across by the Canes. 11-0 in the 7th, FSU up with a hit batter on base.

12-0 Canes avoid the sweep.

Native hits it on the head. Mike Martin is a despicable, bitter old fool
Posted by: Lurker | April 26, 2015 at 04:42 PM
Wow, I guess I was watching a repeat of the end of yesterdays game which I gave up on.
Glad the Canes avoided the sweep after all?
Posted by: NativeCane | April 26, 2015 at 04:53 PM
Much better game to follow today, Native.
Unfortunately, the only place to watch in south FL seemed to be on the computer on ESPN 3, although I'm sure there were other ways to downstream the feed.
I don't bother discussing Mike Martin any more. Too many years of being annoyed by him. It's easier to hate the opponent when you hate the coach though! Bobby Bowden didn't quite bring out that feeling the same way, although Spurrier certainly did.
Nice way to avoid the sweep today, in dominating fashion. Happy Sunday all.

How is Antonio Crawford eligible to play at WVU next year? Shouldn't he have to sit out a year?

Ant Cane:
As far as I know, Antonio Crawford (hmmm, your initials) has to sit out next year, but will be elgible the following season, which works in his best interest, as WVU has 3 senior DBs who should be done after 2015. He found a good situation where he can learn from folks who should be happy to teach given that they won't lose PT, and then will be a senior at a position of need with lost depth. Good luck to him. AG released him from his scholarship, and since WVU and UM aren't scheduled to play, hope all goes well and things work out as he'd hope.
