Quite often on Canespace we see photos of Sun Life Stadium, pictures of players and numerous photos of Canespacers having a great time tailgating.
Here are a different set of photos, taken on campus during an away game in November 1991. A specific game that lives on in Canes lore: Wide Right I.
The game was of course close, and at one point I was so disgusted with FSU's lead that I turned it off and began playing Madden. But I tuned back in during the fourth quarter, in time to see the comeback and then to witness FSU set up for what they had hoped was a game-winning field goal.
The rest on television was history, but here's what happened at the U.
The reaction was immediate. Hundreds of rolls of toilet paper streamed from the dorm windows of Hecht and Mahoney, blanketing the trees below. The campus echoed with cheers, and students milled out to gaze in wonder at the debris that was raining down around them.
Impromptu celebrations took place, as members of the surrounding Coral Gables community cheered along with students. Needless to say, the mess left behind was considerable, as was the celebration!
On October 10, 2015 Miami will again make a special road trip.
And let the reaction to our victory be equally as raucous!
Just sent in some on campus photos from a very memorable Canes win.

Remember that day well, we were hunting off swamp buggys on a 20,000 acre piece of private land in central florida. Right before kickoff we stopped in an oak hammock called the buzzard roost and my buddy Wayne pulled out a small black and white tv and hooked it to a car battery and with wire hangars and tin foil managed to dial in the game.
We had a 20 dollar bet which I dont think he ever paid me, I was so happy when that kick sailed wide I ran around the buzzard roost hootin and hollerin.
Those were fun times and I miss em!
Dem Canes!!!

86..did someone else grab it, or are you just not using it any more? Even if you fail to renew and it expires, you should still have "first dibs" on it.

Finally the NFL schedule comes out tomorrow night. I am hoping my Ravens play the Dolphins on one of the Canes home games especially like the day after the Clemson game on October 25th that would rock or even November 22nd the day after the season home finale against Georgia Tech.

Latroy Hawkins warming up against my Padres. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while.

No way to predict the future, but to automatically assume their angry words won't turn into action is to totally ignore history, especially in that region.
By the way, they've already '"started something". They support terrorism throughout the world.

That's not exactly a provocation for war. Fact: Iran Fs with that carrier, Iran will be severely hurt.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | April 20, 2015 at 10:28 PM
Hawkins is throwing 94 y'all. He's 42.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | April 20, 2015 at 10:30 PM
95.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | April 20, 2015 at 10:31 PM
I wasn't suggesting war, nor would I advocate it. Not now.
Then again, supporting groups (financially, logistically and morally) that want to destroy us can easily be interpreted as a provocation to war.
So you see, provocations are in the eyes of the beholder. Because we tolerate their bull in the hopes they'll become more moderate doesn't mean their basic philosophy will necessarily change. I hope they change. I hope they become more moderate. I hope they're not actually developing nuclear weapons. They have many smart young people, that don't necessarily support their totalitarian regime. But unfortunately, their ruling radical theocrats are aggressively anti-western, espousing a well stated goal of our and our allies total destruction.
Long term, imo, they're one of our greatest threats. If it is found out sometime in the future they've developed one or more nuclear weapons, Katie bar the door. Because then it's out of our hands. It's on.
Posted by: Lurker | April 20, 2015 at 10:46 PM
My whole point is that an attack on that carrier surely ruins their way of life.
