WWIM...I ain't never seen a dude leave a city, without actually leaving that city. Congratulations to the Knicks on the making it to the NBAFs!

SinisterCane

If I remember correctly from the first 30 for 30 the BOT kept Tad Foote hands off the football team.

Donna is no saint, when she arrived the CANEZ where playing at a championship level and now that she outbound leaving the U with a mushroom cloud in her wake with her piss poor AD/football hires

Go Canes

The BOT was 100% behind Foote trying to tame the Canes.

For those holding on to their position, just try and imagine Mr Country Club Tad Foote handling the FIU brawl and good lord, the NCAA fiasco.

I'm not 100% certain but someone within the admin kept him at bay, anyway it worked out for the CANES football

Phillip Dorsett's contract, and his reaction to it:

The four-year deal, set by the parameters of the rookie wage scale, comes in the neighborhood of $7.3 million guaranteed. (The club will have an option for a fifth year.) Asked what it was like to become a millionaire Wednesday, Dorsett smiled.

"Honestly, I can't tell you," he said. "Because I don't play football for the money."

Uhhhhhh...Foote had an NCAA fiasco Himself, a long drawn out one like Shalala. The results?...THEE best collection of talent ever assembled in CFB...1 NC...2 straight NC appearances (should've been 3)...3 Big East Championships...2 2nd place finishes...almost all while suffering actual sanctions.

Brawls happened on His watch also, you must've forgot the South Carolina,Colorado, & SDSU brawls under His watch. Didn't matter, UM won anyway.

Alright Riles, don't eff this up...SIGN MY DAWG!:

"Though Wade prefers to stay with the Heat, where he has spent his entire 12-year career, he is now open to leaving this summer if the Heat does not raise its offer, according to two sources with direct knowledge. Wade must decide by late June whether to opt out of a contract that would pay him $16.1 million next season.

...

But according to associates, Wade wants to opt out this summer, with the hope that the Heat would give him a lucrative three-year deal that would extend past his 36th birthday.

That does not appear to be the Heat's preference. The Heat apparently would be content with Wade opting in for next season, then re-signing for good, but not huge, money for another two seasons after that.

Regardless of whether Wade opts out or not, there is believed to be a sizable gap between what Wade would like over the next three seasons and what the Heat would prefer to pay him."

Tad Foote was an awesome recruiter, he's the genius behind Butch's great recruiting.

Let's keep these awesome "facts" going!

SinisterCane

Let me be clear "Tad Foote was no friend to the football team" but the CANEZ still won in spite of him

Worth a repost:

JCane

and Columbia takes a 4-3 lead in the 6th over ECU, so far with 3 runs in the top half...potential for a big inning for them.

Ohio_Cane

Columbia leading 6-3 B-9

JCane

Columbia takes the opener of the Coral Gables regional, moving into the winners bracket vs. the FIU-UM winner. As well all know, the key to win a regional 95+% of the time is to win the first two games in a double elimination four team tnmt.

7PM...Go Canes!

@smillerdegnan: David Thompson just tied former UM star Mike Fiori (1983) with his 83rd RBI, for fourth all-time for @CanesBaseball. Canes up 6-0 after 2.

Go Canes, thank ya!

Game on WQAM and WVUM

JCane

6-0 still, the U, in the top of the 6th, with FIU having 3 hits and 3 errors.

FU is up 6-0, also, over FAMU, in the top of the 4th.

On the upset watch list, FSU is tied with Mercer at 4 in the 8th.

JCane

Middle of the 6th, FIU sits down after stranding a runner at 1st with a single. Heyward coming up to bat for the U.

The ACC has been looking pretty good so far today, with at first glance only seeing Clemson losing today (game not done yet)..and FSU still tied, now in their half of the 8th.

JCane

Heyward walks to lead off the inning, up comes Eusebio, hoping to get his 2nd hit of the game. No outs. The sac to 3rd moves Heyward over to 2nd, one down. Barr up, 0 for 3 so far tonight. Tough to top the HR he had in the bottom of the 9th to tie things up with NDU the other day.

JCane

Crap...Heyward is thrown out trying to steal 3rd. Barr grounds out, Canes waste the leadoff baserunner and to the 7th they go, still 6-0.

Will have to check back later.

NativeCane

FSU going to extra innings against Mercer tied 4-4.

GO BEARS!!!

JCane

3 up, 3 down for the U in the bottom of the 7th. FIU now has runners on 1st and 2nd, with a single and then HBP, in the top of the 8th. Suarez now taken out of the game after just under 100 pitches and Hammond is in to relieve.

UF is up 11-0 over FAMU, and FSU is still tied up with Mercer at 4 in the bottom of the 9th....now heading to extra innings.

In the regional whose winner plays the Gables winner, Oregon State beat Texas and the #1 seed, Dallas Baptist is losing by 4 to VCU in the 6th.

JCane

Good thing Canes bats were hot early in the game, as the quick 4 and 2 in the first 2 innings have had to suffice. They've done little at the plate since.

Full count to FIU's Silva, a fair hitter all season but seeing the ball pretty well tonight, now 2 for 2 and taking this AB pretty far with a whole lotta fouls. Hammond loses him, walk loads the bases, still no outs. Gotta get this inning done with fast.

JCane

Groundout to 1st, everyone moves up a base, 6-1. Full count on Gaines, and he grounds out to 2nd, everyone moves up a base again, now 6-2 with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd.

JCane

Groundout to end the threat of a huge inning.

To the bottom of the 8th we go, the U still has a 4 run lead and Kennedy will be leading off.

For those interested, FSU is up in the bottom of the 10th, still tied.

JCane

K, ground out and foul out, 3 up and 3 down. Another inoffensive Cane batch of ABs. To the 9th we go to end this game.

FSU is now threatening in the bottom of the 10th, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, still only one down.

86Cane

LET'S GO CANES!!!

JCane

The U makes a few D adjustments, sliding over Heyward and bringing in Chester to left.

Portelli with the K, one out (and FSU just won their game with one out in the 10th, 5-4).

JCane

Out #2 with another K. One more to go.

Quick 2-2 count, strike 3, Hammond settles down, strikes out the side, and CANES WIN in the opener in Coral Gables.

Next up, Columbia U., while ECU and FIU will get the loser bracket elimination game to open.

NativeCane

Good call JCane!
