University of Miami juniors George Iskenderian and David Thompson were among those players recognized with NCBWA All-America first-team honors, the organization announced Wednesday.
The honor was the first of Iskenderian's career and the second for Thompson, who was named a Louisville Slugger All-American by collegiate Baseball Newspaper in late May.
A native of Englewood Cliffs, N.J., Iskenderian became just the second Hurricane to ever capture the ACC’s batting title, finishing the regular season with a .391 batting average to rank No. 1 in the league. He also led the ACC in both total hits (81) and runs scored (61) in the regular season, and ranked third in steals (22) and on-base percentage (.482) over the same timeframe.
Iskenderian was selected in the seventh round of the 2015 MLB Draft by Milwaukee Tuesday.
A junior from Miami, Fla., Thompson earned first-team All-ACC accolades by the league’s coaches after a dominant season in the middle of Miami’s offense. The nation’s RBI leader (87) and tied for the national home run lead (19), Thompson was a critical member of a Miami offense that finished the regular season ranked first nationally in runs scored and runs per game.
Thompson was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by New York Tuesday.

FROM THE ARTICLE ABOVE:
"Monk Bonasorte (Associate Athletic Director at FSU) is named in many police reports involving athletes.
(his record): Bonasorte, a former Florida State football standout (and current Associate Athletic Director at FSU) pleaded guilty in 1987 for cocaine distribution and served six months in prison. Bonasorte, through a university spokeswoman, declined a request for an interview.
'He is kind of the fixer for football,' the former staff member said. 'He knows where the skeletons are buried, but he also helps keep those football players, not out of trouble, but out of paying for the trouble they've gotten into.' "
----------------------------------
Is anyone in shock, that FSU, a major university, would hire a drug dealer? Basically, they have a gangster, a convicted drug dealing jailbird, as an associate athletic director. To me, that is shocking!
Can you imagine if Miami had hired this guy?
They are basically running a criminal organization up there, this proves it. They don't give a SH*T, they do what they want, and run their criminal organization the way they want .
The state district attorney, who's in their pocket, laughed and joked as he talks about the alleged rape of a girl, and not bringing charges against Winston. It was all a big joke. What do you expect?

What happened at PSU was an abomination. It was covered up and nobody can convince me that JoePa, and other football and administrative people, didn't know about it. It was a perfect example of a criminal conspiracy, and you can definitely call it lack of institutional control.
Personally, I'm in favor of the death penalty for that type of child abuse, so you won't get any argument from me.
They should've shut that football program down for at least a decade.

Today's game won't start until game from last night, delayed by weather, is completed.
Posted by: Go Canes | June 15, 2015 at 12:43 PM
Being a wagering degenerate. I don't believe the Hurricanes will face Arkansas this afternoon.
Matter of fact, it's been raining off and on all morning in the Herbie HAYSEED hinterlands. The rains have been light to HEAVY torrential downpours.
Oh. One more thing. My adopted home team, TINY Cal. St.-Fullerton, game with Vanderbilt is on hold this morning. The game was suspended from Sunday because of heavy rains in Omaha. The TINY Titans have a 3-0 lead over the defending NCAA Champions.
So if the Vandy vs. Titan game isn't completed today, then Miami's game will probably be postponed until Wednesday morning.
12:00 EST TINY Cal. St.-Fullerton vs. Vanderbilt, ESPN-2
3:00 EST Canes vs. Arkansas, ESPN-2
8:00 EST Florida vs. Virginia, ESPN-2

RE: The juvenile delinquency of Gator, FSU, and SEC ball players. As well as other programs such as Ohio. St, USC, Penn. St., Nebraska ( Back in the day, for instance. ) and others.
Well, it's an INSIGNIFICANT matter and what not. Simply because us in the MOMENT, REALISTIC folks, NORTH and WEST of the Mason Dixon line, KNOW the deep south is RAMPANT with CORRUPTION of the legal sort. Always has been and always will be. ENTER the tainted Florida voting matters concerning the USA Presidential election many, many, many, many, many moons ago.
In other words, it's a GOOD OL' BOY system when it comes to college football.
Chit, W-H-Y do U believe Miami, Florida Hurricane football has ALWAYS been a SCAPEGOAT in the eyes of the NCAA and the rest of major college football. Duh!!!!
Posted by: TheeMackJones | June 15, 2015 at 01:18 PM
Breaking news Cane bUbba's. The NCAA has declared that the suspended TINY Cal.St. Fullerton vs. Commodore game will start at 3:00 EST, and Miami's game with Arkansas will START at approximately 5:15 EST.
So I guess the ground crews at Ameritus park must be of the Major League level, to keep the SOGGY, rain drenched field relatively dry and what not.
All games will still be televised by ESPN-2.
Well, the good thing about these rain delays is y'all Miami bUbba's will be able to watch most of the game once y'all arrive home from work and what not.

To me the dude is just gassed by the end of the game. He's driving and missing what by his standards are basically gimmes.
No human being can expend that much energy without paying for it down the stretch.
Didn't want him to win because of the way he bailed here, but LBJ really is one of the top 3-5 players to ever put on a jersey.
His game is one to marvel at. It's beautiful to watch.

I won't disagree that he's a top 3-5 player all time, and still has time to maybe be the best ever. Depends what does the next 3 to 5 years.
I do not like the way he left, because I believe he was planning to leave all along, and I don't believe in disrespecting someone like Pat Riley and the whole team by stringing them along, when he had known he was leaving for weeks or at least a month or more, leaving the Heat stuck in the free agency market.
Having said that, I'm grateful for the two championships, but without D Wade, Bosh and other role players, we all have to remember he wouldn't have won it by himself either.
The only criticism I have is it I think he thought he could do the same thing in Cleveland, but he's not going to, he needs another superstar on his team and some excellent role players. He's having to do it all himself. Now are love and Kyrie the answers. I don't think so. They're both injury prone, Kyrie is nowhere near the caliber of superstar that D Wade is/was, and to me Love is kind of soft.
He better find himself a reliable superstar to play with in Cleveland, or this series might be the best shot he ever gets over there to win a ship for the mistake by the lake. Doing it by yourself has it's limits, and you're seeing that in this series.
You have to remember, without LeBron, Cleveland is just a big clown show. They proved it when he wasn't there.

WWIN I didn't realize bellevue was big timing! Lol we were looking in east nashville and Antioch mostly but the spot in Bellevue was the cheapest and easiest for wifey to get to school. She will be starting at Vandy in the fall and after all is the reason why we are moving there. Just can't say no to a free masters!
