Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford selected four University of Miami women’s golf student-athletes to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Team Thursday.
Sophomore Delfina Acosta, sophomore Daniela Darquea, senior Leticia Ras-Anderica and junior Kailey Walsh were the Hurricanes selected to the team.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Acosta was selected to the team after she competed in all 31 rounds and posted the team’s third-best scoring average in 2014-15. She highlighted the year by winning the Web.com Intercollegiate.
Darquea earned a spot on the team after she established herself as one of the league’s top women’s competitors this past season as she earned All-ACC honors. As sophomore, she competed in all 31 rounds, posted a 73.29 scoring average and tied for the team lead with four Top 10 finishes. Following the season, Darquea qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open.
Ras-Anderica was one of the Hurricanes’ most reliable players as she competed in all 31 events and tied for the team lead with four Top 10 finishes.
Walsh earned a spot on the team after she logged 28 rounds and posted an average of 75.82. She also tied for second at the Hurricane Invitational.
More REVISIONEST history and distortion of the FACTS. Or is that CHERRY PICKING the stat's and fact. LMFAO
Oh. One more thing. The suspensions were SPREAD OUT and ONLY one game suspensions. Also, Miami didn't suspend ALL players for the Maryland game.
Matter of fact, ONLY three of the 11 suspended players were STARTERS ( Oliver, Armstrong, and QB Harris only sat out one game ( Jacory played the entire game against MIGHTY Maryland. ).

This guy is just a clown. By writing it in all caps, do you think always being wrong is less noticeable?
This one was up there with your grand proclamation they in our history we've never had less than 50% local kids before Golden, when in fact Randy's last two classes ran about 25-35%.
Here is the truth about the Maryland game:
Miami was playing its initial game under Al Golden without eight suspended players, including quarterback Jacory Harris, linebacker Sean Spence and defensive linemen Marcus Forston and Adewale Ojomo.

Guys like you Terrance and Lurker like to talk shit about the possible new stadium just to here yourselves talk. You say things like "crappy rinky dink 40,000 stadium" but neither one of you no crap. Have you seen the stadium design proposal drawings? It's far from rinky dink, it's state of the art and beautiful. And of course I know Miami Gardens is technically in dade county but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that it's on the border and much closer to broward then it is to the city of Miami. And even though it's clear your no rocket scientist, if you still don't have enough common sense to figure that out, then your a fool. As far as the possible new stadium go's, I'll share with you all what I've heard here in Brickell. I run a very successful nightclub here in Miami and from time to time some people in the know at UM come in and I've taken care of them while there in my club and from what they've told me is that the UM administration is 100% behind this joint stadium with beckhams group. But before the partnership becomes guaranteed, UM is waiting on Beckham to pick the spot for the stadium because UM will only agree to the old OB spot and after that, what the financial split will be for both parties in the partnership. Now this is just what I've heard from some customers of mine who work at UM, so you can take it for what it's worth but these guys have never told me any BS before. So I'm just giving you new stadium haters a heads up, if the location is right and the money is right, this stadium is gonna get done. And I couldn't be happier about because as I live in Brickell, so I'll enjoy my five minute drive to little Havana to watch my canes in a stadium that's actually filled and not an embarrassment on espn's arial shots anymore of an empty NoLife stadium.

Pitt won all their NCs playing at Pitt Stadium, they never won one playing at Heinz field.

Can't we just wait until the Marlins move and take over their stadium...on the site of the old OB...and rename it THE ORANGE BOWL?!

Posted by: CaneRock | June 29, 2015 at 02:04 PM

UM Talk is actually talking about the team and the season. Or UM teams and their season. Besides we have talked this Stadium talk ad nauseum

At this point it doesn't matter where the stadium is or will be located. If Golden doesn't the Coastal Div. this yr. his ass will get flushed out of Miami

That Tony Chachere must be serious:
"Caleb Joshua Halley, who served as Chief Osceola from 2004-07 and graduated from the university in 2009, was allegedly stabbed last Tuesday by coworker Orlando Thompson at a restaurant where the two worked. The incident occurred after an apparent altercation over the amount of spice to put into some gumbo at Buddy's Seafood Market.
According to police, Thompson pulled out a wooden board while Halley grabbed a small pocket knife. Thompson then walked away and brought back a 15-inch knife. He allegedly swung the knife at Halley, causing three lacerations across his torso.
Halley, 34, died two days later, on Thursday, from the injuries. Thompson, 26, was arrested by Panama City Beach Police and charged with manslaughter."

A 40,000 seat stadium is way to small.....It needs to be around 55,000. Has anyone ever tailgated in a parking garage? I did it in Canesville when Miami played up there and it SUCKS!!! How could you not like Joe Robbie Stadium......If you went to the FSU, UF, Ohio State and Oklahoma games in past years, the atmosphere is definitely there, all we're missing is the people!!!!!!

Because higher ups on the BOT divulge strategic plans in random bars in downtown Miami.
Great comedy this afternoon.
Posted by: Lur-ker | June 29, 2015 at 03:37 PM
I never said higher ups on the BOT Lurker. Those are your ignorant words, not mine, can't you read? If you could you would see that I said people that work at UM, nothing more. I also said you can take it for what you will but like I said people hear things and share info especially in my business. Whether the stadium comes to fruition or not depends on factors that are yet to be determined. And you don't have to be an "insider" to know that lurker, all you need to do is read one of Barry Jackson's blogs over the past month.

I'll tell you what's funny, somebody saying that Shalala/UM is making a decision that's worth 10s of millions of dollars, based on what some anonymous, non-game attending fan says on a message board...now that's funny...BWAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAA! WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Interesting nugget, from Le Batard: He said the Celtics offered the Heat four first-round picks and two second-round picks for the No. 10 draft pick. Like Miami, Boston also wanted Winslow.
Posted by: CaneRock | June 29, 2015 at 05:22 PM
That's was a dumb move for the Heat! I would of taken that deal in a heart beat.
