CanesFest Set for August 29th

University of Miami coaches and student-athletes will be on full display as the department will play host to its annual #CanesFest celebration on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 4-6 p.m.

The event is open to the public and will allow fans to gain access to the Hurricanes’ athletic facilities, including the Schwartz Center, Greentree Practice Field, Cobb Stadium, the Knight Gym and UM Sports Hall of Fame.

#CanesFest also will feature an autograph session with UM coaches and student-athletes from various sports, including members of the 2015 Miami Hurricanes football team. The official #CanesFest poster is the only item that student-athletes may sign during the autograph session.

Fans who are looking to obtain autographs from this year’s football team must pick up a voucher to gain access for football autographs. Fan autograph vouchers will be distributed from 3-3:45 p.m. in front of the Schwartz Center.

Coach and student-athlete autographs will run from 4-5 p.m.

This year’s #CanesFest will feature
-Interactive games
-Pictures with Sebastian and the Miami Maniac
-The inflatable field goal kick challenge courtesy of the Orange Bowl
-Giveaways for kids
-A chance to run through the helmet the football team runs through on gameday
-Photo opportunities with the new uniforms
-New adidas gear will be on sale courtesy of the UM Bookstore
-The UM Sports Hall of Fame will be open from 3-7 pm

Food will be available for purchase from Pizza Zilla, Che Grill and Jefe’s Tacos from 3:30-6:30 p.m. outside the Schwartz Center.

Fans planning on attending #CanesFest should park at Ponce Garage where buses will transport fans from the garage to the Hecht Center from 3-7 p.m.

Good article above, one of the few so called experts to predict us to compete for the coastal and come in second behind Gtech. He points to the continued deficiencies of goldens defense as the anchor that's continuing to weigh this program down. Maybe with Kaaya we can just out score people but if Al plays that bullshit conservative offense again like last year to save his butt buddy Dno, then it won't matter how good Kaaya is because the O will never be on the field. Our coach couldn't care less about the university of Miami football program because anyone who sacrifices the good of the team to help out his incompetent buddy keep his job is a scumbag in my book. When someone puts out comments like "butt buddies" and "scumbags" about real people then it shows they have no real intelligent thoughts to put out. It's phony internet fake toughness and and about as relevant as the "I played the game" BS. Lots of people played the game, doesn't mean they're qualified run a college defense.

I always thought the spirit of canespace was to stay away from the personal insults. Guess these are ok again. It's one thing to criticize the coaches and their defense, call them incompetent, or whatever. They're in the public eye, they're paid big bucks, and it comes with the territory. I have zero problem with that.
