The University of Miami football program signed rising senior quarterback Jack Allison to a grant-in-aid agreement on Saturday.
Allison enters his senior season at Palmetto High School after he tossed 18 touchdowns as a junior in 2014.
He is currently ranked as the No. 6 pocket passer quarterback according to ESPN Recruiting and 247Sports. He also is the No. 72 ranked overall player in the ESPN 300 rankings.
Most recently, Allison was selected as the Most Valuable Quarterback at the 2015 Al Golden Football Camp. He also went to the Elite 11 Semifinals in Los Angeles.
Herb Waters will be Kaaya's Go to guy

Totally agree. He's poised to become the next Hank or Hurns.
Tons of talent that comes together late as his maturity, route running, focus (and draft status) start to come together.

Seems to me that Waters has peaked out as a WR. If He can't beat out Berrios &/or Lewis at the slot, then IDK. Probably should've moved em' to DB.
One kid I'm curious to see though, is Cager...reminds me of Streeter.
Posted by: CaneRock | August 03, 2015 at 10:09 AM
I think Scott will be Kaaya's go to. They established a good connection last year before he got hurt according to reports and seem to have picked it back up this year.
Posted by: 30CINCO | August 03, 2015 at 10:12 AM
Im thinking Lewis or Berrios. Lewis is very consistent and him and Berrios seem to had a good connection and trust. IDC who it is as long as were scoring lol...to much talent to be reserved
Posted by: UMike | August 03, 2015 at 10:15 AM
CINCO...agree with you on Scott...only thing with Him though, is He hasn't really done anything since what, 2012? Might take em' awhile to catch back up to gameday speed. We'll see.

At the end of the day, it's imperative that Coley rebounds from last year. I think He will, which should make everybody else's job easier.

Brad Kaaya tries to manage expectations at Miami
There is an anecdote Brad Kaaya tells about Miami, one he relies on when people start asking about legacies.
As a boy growing up in California, Kaaya remembers seeing all the green-and-orange shirts around town when the Hurricanes arrived to play Nebraska in the 2002 Rose Bowl. When he played college football video games, he always played as Miami. There are still pictures of him somewhere in his house wearing Miami sweaters in high school.
"I’ve always loved Miami," he says simply.

Al said Kaaya was in great shape and that he put on weight. Does anyone know what weight he's at?
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | August 03, 2015 at 12:43 PM
Owens is the favorite to start at Sam. Grace is for sure the Will. Kirby at Mike and McCord and AQM will rotate and sometimes be on the field at the same time, with Thomas I assume. Jenkins will play DT. This pass rush should be filthy. Hopefully they 1 gap.

It's been such a long time. . . .
Trying to get excited about the upcoming season hasn't been easy this time, while it's nice hearing the players tell us things are different I just have to see it this time. Unfortunate that I see we are still going through the "everything is awesome vs. everything is awful" battle, the truth is everything is relative and nobody knows what to expect. Good to see we're getting recruits, hoping they stick. Glad to see Kaaya getting a ton of great press, sad to see the national and ACC press doesn't see more stand-outs on the rest of the team than I do. Hoping Sun Life is no longer No Life Stadium, the photos look pretty good. Lastly, glad to know the probation era is over, don't want to hear that one again ever.

I think that said from when he got on campus. Got to campus around 230. Got down to 209 or so for last year. Put on good weight now. I bet he plays at 215-220 this year.

I think you are wrong. Maybe during last season he lost weight? I'm almost certain Al said he somewhere in the 220s. Grace is supposed to play at 220+ also. It was assigned to them.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | August 03, 2015 at 12:54 PM
Dude...I will have to look..I thought I read he lost weight and got more toned or something. I just remember thinking how did he lose weight when he looked thin lol

A full year in a college conditioning program, which Kaaya didn’t have entering last year, can only help. After arriving on campus last May at 6-foot-4 and close to 230 pounds, he slimmed down to 205 by opening night. He said he has added 10 pounds of “good weight” since then. He cautions he won’t be like “Tim Tebow, running over any middle linebackers any time soon,” but said he felt sturdy enough last year at 205-210.

Posted by: Lur-ker | August 03, 2015 at 01:02 PM
I also read He got here heavy and shed a lot of non muscle weight during the season. Got down to 210 I think.
Now he's added the right kind of weight which hopefully will make him a little more mobile and add even more zip to his ball.
Posted by: Go Canes | August 03, 2015 at 01:03 PM

Btw that 97 ranking for Kaaya is absurd.
Ask the head coach of 99% of all D1 schools in the country if they'd rather have him or some o-lineman, tight end or corner ranked 57, 47 or even 27.
Which one will have a greater impact in more games next year.
Silly.

We lost 13 guys to the NFL (draft + free agent) from a 6-7 team. Of course, we could go 10-2 + but sure seems unlikely to me.
