Yep! Yearby woulda walked in the end zone on that play

@CanesAllAccess: After further review we have decided to change the nameplate font on all @CanesFootball jerseys to a traditional block letter font.

Go Canes

This is just so, so funny:

@finebaum: You all were waiting for Tammy's call. Here it is in all its glory: http://t.co/l3ZPzp17Vj http://t.co/oY6kfe3Dmd

CaneRock

not sure if it's the play calling, personnel used, or just lack of talent that causes our red zone woes

Good point. In Saturday's game, I was surprised to hear names other than Walford making plays down there...Brady,Njoku, & Herndon as a few examples.

IKR!

^^^^^I also liked how we attacked the middle of the field. We'll win a lot of games if they keep doing it.

CaneRock

Has Wyche played that much this season?

WWIN

Christopher Herndon IV is a future BEAST!!!

You heard it from me first!

WWIN

Haven't seen Wyche CaneRock... unfortunately I don't think he's going to pan out... too many players in front of him now especially with Norton here now

If you're wondering if UM can appeal Bush/Carter suspensions, ACC says it cannot. No review process. National rule. Both out 1st half @ CIN.

WWIN

Bush and Carter being out will help us build safety depth tho!

CaneRock

WWIN...I think Norton will be more effective when He drops some more weight, He's stout as hell though.

@ByTimReynolds: A FSU fan wants to fly a Golden banner. So this means FSU is behind Miami in:

1. National titles.
2. First-rounders.
3. Golden banners.

Go canes posted this good good article by Manny. I am happy with 3-0 so I love Golden right now. But the canes have to do a much better job in the red zone and on 3rd down. This is horrible and must be corrected soon. Conversions on an average rate and no overtime would be necessary. What is most concerning is that the canes have the talent to be much better.

This is an issue for the coaches and players to focus on during the bye week. Championship teams are often made on the "money downs." Perhaps, Gray, Cager Brady and Barrios should be given opportunities in these situations going forward. Golden has developed players. Corn was a RB, but now is a great CB. Across the board, he is molding future NFL players on defense and offense. The Canes still produce more NFL players than any college. Its the little things that trip us up.

Nice thoughts BWC....I fondly refer to the little things as fundamentals.

Block tackle execute don't turn the ball over, get to's, avoid stupid penalties, don't arm tackle, head always up on a swivel, have short third downs and covert them, always score in the red zone but goal is tds,...
....teach fundamentals, develop players based in fundamentals, call dynamic plays, call aggressive dynamic schemes, learn new ones, be very aggressive, develop team we concepts, save time outs, manage the game, make adjustments....these are things....and there are many more...that win titles....we can get there doing them.
Great start keep growing focus on UC

We played good until the 4th and by that time I'm driving thinking the game is over.....when I start receiving texts that Nebraska came back and took it to it...thank god I miss that heart attack lol!!

Va Cane is on the money. Golden should bring you in as a consultant. Those things you mention are exactly what the Canes need

One of my biggest complaints has been the scheme, but damn, I'd settle for these guys having the fundamentals down within their own scheme. So many penalties and general sloppiness.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Redzone woes, I think have a lot to do with the running game. While there's elite talent there, it's not an elite group, the OL especially. Maybe in a few more games it can get there. General sloppiness there.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I liked the font. It was fun.

Miami's version of Phyllis/Tammy speaks! 18 minutes worth of it.

VA Cane

I know people think I am nuts stressing these and other fundamentals, but they are the foundation of my 50 years of football. Started at 7; Dad Uncle Godfather all played college, pro, Godfather was DC in Oakland glory years. Its how I was able to play hs college fb....I drive the small stuff, the germs, the seeds of the game at my players every day...its like the strongest foudation ever built. On that I add passion, aggression, teamwork, sacrifice, pride, respect, humility, love of life and teammates....then I blend each guys unique talents skills size speed hands footwork and persona into one on that foundation....it never fails....my guys just keep winning.....we are rolling so far, but its one game at a time.
I hope UM gets back to this philosophy....if they do....unstoppable for sure. Keep working Canes!

VA Cane

I agree Dude....we struggle in RZ....you have to run it tough in close. That's another fundamental I drive into my guys....you make up your mind...mental...that you are going to be tough as hell...physical.....so you develop a physical mental toughness....nobody stops you. We need a lot more of that! Tough! I would like to see Chocolate more....especially in RZ! We are working harder getting better...keep pushing guys!

"You give 100 percent in the first half of the game, and if that isn't enough in the second half you give what's left."

"If you don't know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else."

... and finally:

"You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours."
