Go Canes

There's nearly a 20 TO swing in our +\- differential.

If that continues we roll them by three touchdowns.

One thing about the fast offense they run. If we get a couple of 3 and outs or TOs their D will be gassed by the second quarter.

thirstybuzzardcane

Cinci's QB is not very accurate.....He'll make a lot of mistakes!

raizecane

If I am Miami, I wouldn't sleep on this frosh QB and not having ability to move out of the pocket.

Memphis has an aweful defensive line so the QB didn't have to extend the play with his legs. That wont be the case against us. Again, we only saw 3 quarters of this kid. He may have the potential to gain 50 - 75 yards rushing. The real question should be was he labeled a "pocket passer" or "duel threat"???

I haven't seen him play it all. To me, the question is, can he move effectively, escape, etc. Some QB's are effective in sliding around in the pocket without being great runners, but that usually comes with a little maturity and experience, this guy's a freshman.

By the same token, rolling a QB out is a good way to try stem the effects of an aggressive pass rush, but not every QB is an effective and accurate passer when rolling out.

If this QB isn't very mobile, and isn't very effective in rolling out, we should be able to significantly minimize his effectiveness, and Cincy SHOULD be out of it by the 3rd quarter (let's hope)

raizecane

They dont seem to have a running game so if we can put pressure with just 4, we can play zone and get some INT's

Fixed it for U

Boy stop!!! You have a serious problem with keeping it real!

Against BCU the defense played lights out, but against FAU the defense benefited from FAU's mistakes!

There are one or two people here who IMO add zero value to any conversations.

Ohio, I was wondering the same thing.

Get off that weed y'all! The kid is no threat to run but anyone will run if u give them a lane as big as I-95, even Peyton manning. He got sacked a few times and not once did he show an ability to want to dodge the bullet. I know our D line with linebackers can give him feats. But if we can't get to him early with our front 7, we need to start sending corn or Kirby on blitzes. U simply cannot give him anytime to sit in the pocket. Their one good position is the wide receiver position. so his ability to find open receivers when given time is more a function of his wide receivers been too good to be locked down by DBs for too long. Let them roll him out. It will be their own funeral. The kid is simply too inaccurate when he has to throw on the move or he is hurried. I say all this knowing that it's possible they've gone into the lab to work on some tricks. Watch out for 'trickeration.' Burns and corn should be licking their chops. Their pass D is worse than their run D.

Lurker

You've seen him, I haven't.

If your analysis is correct on his abilities, we should feast

AfriCane

What do u call a blitz package with corn elder and Rafael Kirby?
'Corn on the Kirb.'

No, Dude, its the new guy you're thinking of- 58Straight.

Canezitis

They all have valid reasons though for not trusting the U as a legit power right now. We've all seen the same movie for 10+ years and it seems as soon as we think Miami is back they lose to a Duke or some other team they have no business losing to and then things spiral downward. I hope it's different this year for all our sakes.

Go Canes

Thought the list would be longer.

@mattyports: Al Golden said this week he wants to redshirt these freshmen: OLBs Gordinier, Patchan; S Knowles, OLs Milo, Mahoney, Loftus; DT Fines.

Go Canes

Don't really have a problem with what the ESPN guy said.

Got to earn that respect as Canezitis said.

Go Canes

@mattyports: One area of focus for Miami during its bye week, per Al Golden: mixing in younger players with the No. 1 units. Results could show vs. CIN.

Go Canes

### Golden, asked today about UM's situation at safety with Deon Bush and Jamal Carter suspended for the first half Thursday against Cincinnati: "I think we're good there. We've been playing five all year, so,
Rayshawn Jenkins has two interceptions already, Dallas (Crawford) has [played well], I think, every game, and then 'Quan Johnson. We'll have a rotation there, and we'll help those guys on special teams by alleviating some of that pressure. We're not going to change anything. We believe in those guys. All three of those guys are really smart. We'll be deeper in the second half certainly with Deon and Jamal coming back."

### UM's running back oral commitments for 2016 are off to blazing starts. Travis Homer is averaging 7.5 yards per carry, with 441 yards rushing, six rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown. Zack Moss is averaging 8.4 yards per carry, with 345 yards, six rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns.

FYI: Palmetto-based Florida quarterback Jack Allison, planning to arrive at UM in January, has thrown seven TDs and two picks.

AfriCane

Honestly, guys, we r in a dark place as canes. Whatever the analysts say should be no concern of ours. We shouldn't look forward to rankings or awards. We should be angry, evil, blood thirsty. We should want to beat people for the sake of destroying them. As a fan base, we should go after ESPN analyst and that one ugly old black dude on cbs cohorts cable. We should tell them to take the name of our team out of their mouths. We should tell tell them to stuff their rankings and opinions and keep sucking on Nick Satan's balls like they've been doing. We should tell them to not come anywhere near fade county as their safety cannot be guaranteed. We should go dark, angry. We don't want anyone's praise or hype. Let them keeping on SEC nuts while that fat athlete infested, bad QBs conference gets put deep in a hole.
This should be the motto for Cane fans; 'Fock the world.'
I'm mad dawg!

Feeling that....

Posted by: AfriCane | September 30, 2015 at 05:06 PM

The problem with that, is I really do not think Golden has that in him. Let me reference...

1. Blowing out a FCS, asks the opposing coach if he wanted to shorten the half because Golden "has been on that end of it."

2. Victory formation when a monster come back is at your heels. Corn doesn't freelance, that's 6.

Could Goldie one day just snap and do those things you mention? Man, I hope so. I hope he realized his faults from the Neb game, and comes out pedal to the metal. Doesn't look back until he's hoisting that ACC trophy. And to think, our bball team won the conference before our football team...smh []_[]

Is it Thursday yet?

@mattyports: Listening to interview tapes. Artie Burns raved abt how nice a play Corn Elder made on OT INT -- playing zone deep third, read it perfectly.

If we're going lyrical...

Dude's just ended up like a dog been beat too much, spending half his life just covering up..

He so desperately wants to believe but this team's kicked him in the teeth too many times.

Can't blame him. Just got to let that go, enjoy the wins and hope we succeed instead of having to start over.
