Junior cornerback Artie Burns was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week following the Miami Hurricanes’ 30-20 victory over Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon at Sun Life Stadium.
Burns received the award after he tallied a career-high two interceptions, including one late in the fourth quarter, which helped seal the Hurricanes win over the Hokies.
Burns currently leads the team with five interceptions on the year. His five picks are the most by a Hurricane since Sean Taylor had 10 in 2003. In addition, Burns’ five interceptions ranks fifth nationally.
The Hurricanes return home this weekend as they welcome sixth-ranked Clemson to Sun Life Stadium. Kickoff is set for Noon and will be aired nationally on ABC.

Jimmy loves retirement but whoever he would endorse is A okay with me. He tried giving AL help last year to no avail.

Tom Luginbill and Mike Bellotiti on ESPNU Film Room just talked about the Miami Defense and showed on film how they are actually playing "very fundamentally sound" right now. Wish that would translate to wins though.

@ChristyChirinos: Jim Larrañaga clearly excited about the record number of season ticket sales for Canes hoops. But, as always, he wants even more fans there.

I hope he has a good time. Won't it be great if the canes pull the upset and win, and he can have that good feeling, high fiving , etc. There's always a lot of love after we win a big one - granted there haven't been many recently, but hoping for one

Can somebody tell me what happened to Colin Kapernick? I know Harbaugh isn't there, but how do you regress from looking like you're right up there with Aaron Rodgers to looking like a rooki that has no clue? It ain't all coaching either, these are grown men.

Duh?
### New UM president Julio Frenk twice has been asked about Golden’s future during Board of Trustee meetings, including Thursday, and twice said he will leave the decision to athletic director Blake James, according to someone in attendance.
That's in line with Frenk's philosophy of giving his top administrators the power to make the decisions they are entrusted to make.
A high-level Trustee said he believes Golden will be at serious risk after the season without a strong finish over the final six games.

It's coaching. I hate to be the guy to say it, but if you've ever been involved in trying to win a game, you'd know how much coaching matters.

Always played sports. Played multiple sports. It's a passion for my entire family.
Makes me wonder. Because coaching matters only up to a point. You're either a self- motivated person or you're not. A coach can't ever motivate an unmotivated person if they don't have it in them. And what I seem to be seeing in Colin is complacency. Losing your mojo is on you, not the coach. The team is way worse without Harbaugh, but Kapernick sucking is on him. Zero leadership.

Also, SF threw away a bunch of their good players. Players matter. Especially in the NFL

We all know mcdee not great for us, but I don't care who you are, chit tastes good. Just even a plain cheeburg & fries. That's why I try not to drive by them. But nothing beats an old school krystal or White Castle

Dammit Lurker now you sold me on Krystals... headed there now!
Two thumbs up on this post! And you right about Krystals... the one by my house been so good lately I emailed them about it last night lol!
But for some reason I can eat whatever I want but never gain a pound... but doctor told me I got high blood pressure last month... she thinks it's from my eating habits but I told her it's from Golden lol!
Posted by: WWIN | October 22, 2015 at 11:27 PM
Patrick Willis was the heart & soul of that SF team, when He retired, that was it. Plus it's hard for any coach to live up to the legacy of Bill Walsh in that place.
And BS that a coach can't motivate, kinda hard to get up for a game when your coach is telling you to, "Don't rise to the occasion", or, "Trust your training". Yeah, that'll get my blood pumping.
