THE GAME
Miami will face Dowling College in exhibition action Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in the BankUnited Center. Tickets start at $10.
THE SERIES
This is Miami’s first meeting with Dowling College.
THE COACH
Head coach Jim Larrañaga has a 561-383 overall record in his 32nd season as a head coach. He is 91-49 in his fifth season at the University of Miami, with a 41-29 mark in ACC play.
THE QUOTE
"This is going to be a fun year and we are excited to hear that our fans are getting behind this team even before the games begin by purchasing season tickets in huge numbers. Our players and coaches are working extremely hard to take Miami basketball to the next level." - Head Coach Jim Larrañaga
MIAMI PREDICTED TO FINISH FIFTH IN ACC
Miami was predicted to finish fifth out of 15 teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season, as announced by the league during Operation ACC Basketball in Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 28. North Carolina was picked to win the league, followed by Virginia, Duke and Notre Dame.
MIAMI SETS SEASON TICKET RECORD
With unprecedented excitement surrounding the 2015-16 University of Miami men’s basketball team, Hurricane fans have responded in record numbers, already setting a new program high for most season tickets sold.
Fewer than 650 seats are still available for sale, after accounting for seats already sold as season tickets plus those held for current UM students and team use.
“When we first arrived at Miami, we were told it would be tough to sell out the BankUnited Center and it would be hard to build a basketball fan base,” Head Coach Jim Larrañaga said. “But in four short years, we have set all kinds of records with both sellout crowds and student attendance.”
Boom.

Larranaga is the Pimp Daddy!
Best coach we have BY FAR aside from the UM women's BB coach because she is a great coach AND hot! She can't help herself.

Terrence,
I doubt I'll be able to make the Canespace weekend in February. That's looking like it'll be the time for a product launch that yours truly going to be responsible for. If it turns out that I can make it, I'll get a place wherever I can
That said I will be there for Alabama in the Spring in a big way. Whitewater rafting, hunting hawgs, juggling chainsaws, cracking beers and fishing for stumpknockers with some red wigglers. I'm good. Hell if we're gonna be near Birmingham that's my unofficial neck of the woods, but staying there is out of the question. Bibb County is dry. No way I'm drinking chai instead of Corona.

CaneRock... I wonder how old the pimp was when we hired him?

WW:
Coach L just turned 66 and is in his 5th season at the U.
Soup:
What do you think the odds are Steve Walsh returns in some capacity? I had heard a while ago that he'd love a shot, although it would depend on what level of offer. Obviously he is a former player who has had enough involvement at the h.s. level in different areas of the state (ie Newman and IMG) to be linked into the pulse of h.s. players/recruiting. I'm not sure we could have two former U QBs (ie if Dorsey were to return) on the same staff at the same time given how egos go, but I suppose right now anything is possible.
On an ACC side note, I saw UNC top point guard Marcus Paige busted a finger on his non-shooting hand and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

OldSkool Oak Mountain State Park is in Shelby County. So that would be a blast. Totally understandable on Canesspace Trip. Good luck My Canes Brotha.

I love Coach L as a motivator and teacher of the game of basketball. Coach L is a great coach and I support him and the positive, winning culture he has established at UM.

Coach L is amazing. He finds players to fit his needs, teaches the game and motivates like nobody's business. He gets lesser known guys to compete pretty well with the 5 stars of Duke, UNC, etc.
As an unheralded coach in a less popular sport, how about our lady volleyball team, taking down #17 FSU tonight, 3-1, and still undefeated at home.....

Kudos to LADY CANES! What a fabulous week we have had.
THANKS 86 for using the GREAT AND FABULOUS PHOTO of all of us, when I flew down for the football game and you made me a special member of CANESPACERS. JUST THE BEST TIME FOR THIS OLDER ALUMNI.
I will try to fly down next year for a repeat at the DUKE DESTRUCTION AT SUN LIFE.

Post from a TOS poster
I can not verify this but a poster on TOS has stated he knows one of the 8 guys the U contacted before they named the 3 bot members on the search committee. He says Butch has already met with Blake twice and that he has support of big donors with promise of more donations to come. There has also been tremendous feedback for Butch from the fans, alumni and students. That he will be announced as head coach during Thanksgiving .This does jive with recent reports of Paul Dimare and Schwarz (Schwarz Center) backing Butch. Again I can't confirm this but this is a long time poster with no history of fabrication.

Unless Mario can coordinate an offense, I don't think he's coming back.

When is Butch's birthday?

If Butch REALLY wants the JOB and not just the MONEY, he ought to be willing to accept the same salary that Al Golden was making, subject to the following caveats:
1. Annual incentive pay for meaningful, quantifiable results; and
2. Money to pay the OC and DC at least $1 million each.

Sinister- it's bullsh*t. Its the old C6vette character doing his thing, always something too good to be true. He reads a lot, makes a lot of half-truth, half-guess posts, mostly something so vague that it can be interpreted so many ways that he can't help but be partially right. This one is a little more specific than usual, but its not real.
