Terrance Sullivan

Oh Lawd!

Ohio_Cane

Those predictions were LEGIT! Lol

Lur-ker

Brissett ended being a turd (b4 xfer to NCST), in fact that was his top school for a long time. That was kinda weird. Wisconsin (???) but no Florida??? Doesn't sound right. In the end it was between us and the turds. Unless my memory all went to sheeet

TonyCane

You're right Lurker. If I'm not mistaken he declared for the Gators dying a basketball game.

TonyCane

During a basketball game

Wow the suckling in this flashback is GD/TS levels of delusion. Maximum LULZ on their way in the next four looking back on Goldens not gold standard girls.

orange 'n green in the vein

Dorsett Perryman chickbust.

29th 1st round, 16th 2nd, 36th 6th, that's all the haul in a non top 25 at the time consensus list from this year.

*****'s don't matter anymore in evaluating what fatso kept on board for this or the next class, the results are final.

Lur-ker

OGV - you're straight up insane. I know your life is a mess, and you're angry and bitter about it, but maybe if you tried harder you wouldn't be such a horrible disappointment to those around you. Poor, delusional, and retarded is no way to go through life, sonny.

At the same time, you do accomplish something. I get the guilty pleasure of laughing at your miserable existence, the same some way people laugh at circus geeks and pinheads.

AfriCane

Go, that wasn't my intentions. But I'm reading some big pronouncements about richt and he hasn't coached one down yet. I hear the same thing about every new coach we get. I mean, is a 'wait and see' attitude too hard to adopt?

Go Canes!

For some, one of the best things about sports is the feeling of optimism that comes with every new season.

When you couple that with an inarguable upgrade at every coaching position and what appears to be a very strong ending to a difficult recruiting transition, I'll take what is perhaps over exuberance.

Ain't nothing wrong with that imo.

If that's not your thing that's cool. Just like some people are into recruiting and others aren't.

At least you're not a condescending s**t bag about it.

Dont see the big deal in letting people get pumped up about whatever they want to get excited about.

After all, spring practice is only what, about 45 days away??

Can't wait!

UMike

Im excited, but also cautiously optimistic. Just been let down so many times the last decade, its hard to fully believe. I see all these 10-2 predictions, which is doable, but the games still need to be played.

UMike

Ohio...here ya go...

Ahmmon Richards - Miami
Randrecous Davis - Miami
Javon Wims – Georgia
Eli Stove - Auburn
Latrell Williams – TN (Miami if not pushed out)
Romeo Finley - Clemson
Marcel Southall - Oklahoma
Briston Guidry - Arkansas
Kobe Jones – Mississi State
Shyheim Carter - Alabama
Tyler Byrd – Miami
Henry Miller - Miami
CJ McWilliams - Florida

Go Canes!

I don't know if we can get to 10-2 next year with that brutal October schedule.

But under Richt his program is being elevated to heights it hasn't been at for a long, long time.

Think NSD will show that.

UMike

But under Richt his program is being elevated to heights it hasn't been at for a long, long time.

Posted by: Go Canes! | January 29, 2016 at 06:44 AM

This is what I mean. Im excited too, but how can you make this statement when we havent played a single game under Richt? The excitement might be elevated, but the program itself hasnt dont anything yet under Richt except get a few commitments.

I think I would be happy with a 9-3 record (or better if we can) and no loses to teams we shouldnt lose to. At least one win against a legitimately good team and no blow out loses. That would show dramatic improvement and set the tone in recruiting, especially if we can beat FSU or a high ranked ND team.

Go Canes!

Sam Bruce about to go on WQAM.

Lur-ker

I happy about the new coach and the changes being made, especially on the recruiting front with an emphasis on selectivity.

By the same token, 10-2 with a new coach and staff, in a transition year, is not a cakewalk. Not a fan of these ultimatums being set like 11-1 or 10-2 is the floor.

It's important to not this is not a well oiled machine. YET.

We have a whole new staff learning to work with each other, and in a new, city, in a new school, with different people. Some of them have been together in the past. But the staff, the specific staff, has never worked together as a unit.

There will be a transition period.

Also, these are brand-new coaches and the players. They will also have to adjust and adapt.

Historically, no matter the coaches previous record of its ability, the first year generally tends to be the toughest. Look at Sabin. Look at other coaches.

Having said that I have a feeling, and it's only just a feeling, that Richt will have a pretty good year next year. But at the same time I wouldn't be surprised with three or four, maybe even five losses, either. It's a transition period.

I hope for the best, I hope 14-0, but I also understand that there could be some bumps along the way during the adjustment period.

UMike

Good post Lurker. Good points.

TonyCane

I've said it before..in their first years at USC and OU, Pete Carroll and Bob Stoops went 6-6. In his first season at Alb, Saban was barely .500.

U Meyer is the outlier....he took over a stacked Ohio St team in a weak overall conference.

UMike

CMR will have the benefit of Kaaya and UNC will be without their best player from this past season. I think we have the talent on D to be a lot better with a new scheme. We could easily win 10 games, but like Lurker stated this is new for everyone. You have to wonder how many of these players have been softened by Golden and the previous staff. Its not just the schemes they need to change imo

WWIN

We finally, allegedly, have a Heisman contending type QB in his JR year and we suppose to be okay with losing 3-5 games??? Forget about the names... the only tough teams we face are Notre Dame and FSU!

It was Tom Herman's first year at Houston last year... what did he do? What about McElwain at Florida? Or Harbaugh at Michigan? What did Urban do his first year at OSU?

Go Canes!

Very valid points by all.

I'll add we'll have a vastly improved play calling OC in Richt. That alone may add a win or two.

Thank God summers are paradise here, so that will be enjoyed every day. Otherwise I'd be...it September yet??

UMike

Go, I agree. I am definitly excited about Richt calling the plays. I believe he has something to prove and is hungry. Will be such a nice feeling not watching amateur hour on Saturdays.

WW, I dont think any of us are "okay" with losing 3-5 games, Lurker is just saying he could understand why it COULD happen with all the transitions. But even with the transitions, I dont think we lose more that 3 games.

WWIN

Last I checked we still play in the ACC COASTAL... and all I ever heard was... "if we had a coach with half a brain we'll win the COASTAL every year"! So does Smart Mark have half a brain at least?

FSU is just a one man show to me... and we coulda beat them WITH Winston! The ONLY real team on the schedule is Nosuch Dame... three loses in the regular season would be a disappointment to me

Go Canes!

Agree WW.

If it wasn't for that brutal October...

Playing at home then going to VT five days later for a Thursday night road game would be tough for any team.

Good thing is we basically have half the season to get things smoothed out.

Ohio_Cane

Prediction time, I guess. I'm down. Here we go.

WR Ahmmon Richards – CANES

WR Randrecous Davis – CANES

WR Javon Wims – UGA

WR Eli Stove – AUBURN

WR Latrell Williams – CANES

S Romeo Finley – CANES

TE Jovani Haskins – CANES (Decided last night)

OL Tre Johnson – CANES

DT Marcel Southall – OU

DT Kobe Jones – MISS ST

DT Tyreic Martin – CANES

ATH Shyheim Carter – BAMA

DB Tyler Byrd – CANES

DB Henry Miller – CANES

DB CJ McWilliams – UF

Kelvin Harmon - NC State (I don't think he's a take. Yet. If we do, we lost out on Wims/Davis/Richards/Williams, IMO)

Ohio_Cane

^^ I left out Guidry because he reaffirmed he's 100% to Arky

UMike

WWIN, I get that. Good points. Still, to me this year is more how we play and if we lose how we lose.

UMike

Ohio...I was going to leave him out also, but I already had him. Williams is an *** lol

Lur-ker

We may go 10-2. I wouldn't be surprised.
We could go 8-4. I wouldn't be surprised.
Not even taking into consideration injuries and the like.

And there are some depth issues as well as defensive backfield concerns.
Also, don't forget, this is going to be Richt's first time being OC and playcaller in several years. At Georgia, he wasn't calling the plays for several years.

Mike is right about a hangover from the previous staff. That's what I mean by players going through a transition period themselves, not just only the coaches.

I'm 100% sure, though, that our record with Richt will be better than it would have been with Golden.

As far as McElwain at Florida. LOL. The "offensive genius" from Colorado lived big off of Muschimp's defensive recruits with an offense as limp as a 90 yr old man. Let's see how the swamp Donkey does going forward. His first year MAY have been a fluke. Kind of like Muschimp's first couple of years at Florida.

"we suppose to be okay with losing 3-5 games???" Well, since you're ok with Harbaugh losing 3 games his first year at Michigan. Facts, yo.

Tom Herman. First year ever coaching. Let's see if he doesn't lose 3-4 games his second year ever coaching.

Urban is an all time great coach, with way more talent than Miami in a weak conf that year as Tony said.

Notice you didn't mention one of the GOATs, in Saban, and his records the first year at several institutions.

I guess the role of advocatus diaboli still belongs to OGV, who thinks Kaaya is a phony, while others have him as a Heisman contender. And he doesn't like Kaaya's buddy Berrios either.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I know a guy who played for Meyer at Utah. He said Meyer was the best coach he ever played for... and the biggest asshole he's ever known, lol.

Hahaha! Well there's that, but who walks SB every morning?

VfB_Cane

Did you guys know Cam Newton is BLACK?!?!?!
Posted by: The Dude | January 29, 2016 at 09:21 AM

Isn't a panther supposed to be black? Otherwise, it'd be a jaguar or a leopard.

UMike

Will be interesting to see Kaays numbers under Richt with the different offense, play calling and hopefully a run game.

UMike

TD... you need to make it to the GT game...Im sure TSully has a pull out couch in his hotel in ATL lol

Lur-ker

Black panthers are actually very rare and that color is a genetic mutation which results in melanism in either leopards (Africa, Asia) or cougars (the Americas). I'm not sure if Pumas/mountain lions have ever been discovered that are melanistic

So a black panther is either a leopard, or a cougar, two distinct species, living on two separate continents

But they are super cool looking

Hahaha, Cam is a black panther then. Better not tell Fox News, lol.

Maybe when my girls are a little older.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Jaguars can be black I think.

Go Canes!

When they are, they are called panthers. See Lurker's post above.

Dude on a Pale Horse

^^^ we're all big cat experts now, lol.

Go,

Summer is pretty much great everywhere.

Dude on a Pale Horse

SD is best through every season.

BigWindyCane1

Kaaya will not be a serious Heisman candidate if the Canes loose 3-4 games. Kaaya is a Heisman candidate because the Canes will win 10 or more games. Saban did not have a QB like Kaaya his first season. Even Mark Richt in 2001 his first year at Georgia, was 8-4, with a freshman David Greene starting.

The Canes will be a well-oiled machine by the time October rolls around, and they will be better on both sides of the ball and up front. Their most experienced position coaches are OL and DL, and they will be better up front. CMR will make a big difference

Lur-ker

Actually substitute Jaguars for cougars. Cougars is just another name for Pumas/mountain lions also known as the American lion, ranging from NA through the Central American isthmus down into SA.

Only one or two Jaguars have ever been spotted in the southwest (U.S.). More common in Central America and South Amerixa.
