CMR - ACC Coach of the Year!

WWIN

How can a coach who went to 4 straight finals and has 2 rings suck? I thought you said CR was the hater lol

Posted by: UMike | January 19, 2016 at 11:34 AM

Lol

Could you not have done that with the team he had? It was the players not the coach!

58 Straight

What would you consider to be an "eye opening season"?

Posted by: 1mg of Epi | January 19, 2016 at 10:58 AM

1. Epic tailgates.

2. Canespace Four Play.

3. 12 wins, beat FSU, ACC title game.

Plenty of talented teams that dont go on that sort of run. Obviously he has talent, but you dont win that many games and have that sort of run with talent alone. There is a system in place. There is managing egos and multiple superstars etc.

Go Canes!

Hope this finally puts to rest the whole conversation about us having even remotely similar financials to SEC schools:

Go Canes... Until this season, the SEC and ACC teams received very similar distributions. The article you posted pegs this years SEC $ at $30mm per. Previously it was around 20. Same as ACC.

The difference is the SEC network, which was in its first year.

Sad story....

Travonte Valentine news ...

From being a sought-after high school sensation to a displaced former star trying to find his way, Travonte Valentine stumbled through multiple college programs over the past two years before landing at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Tuesday.

Valentine left LSU in July of 2015 after a tumultuous beginning to his collegiate career. The gifted 6-foot-4, 350-pound defensive tackle met adversity head-on from the onset, after the SEC took the rare stance of overriding the NCAA's academic qualification process, deeming him ineligible to play his freshman season.

Things only got worse from there as Valentine initially struggled in the classroom at LSU, did not monitor his weight and violated multiple team policies, which ultimately led to his dismissal from the program. Valentine later landed at Arizona Western College, but not on his feet.

After working himself back into shape and becoming more active in the rotation for Western Arizona, Valentine once again found himself in trouble with coaches at his new program. Valentine was arrested for his involvement in a physical altercation, leading to his dismissal from the program, despite the charges being dropped shortly thereafter.

Valentine recently visited Akron, but was told that he would have to attend a junior college because he did not finish the semester at Arizona Western, leading to his enrollment at MGCCC. Valentine will have to complete the year as a student before becoming a part of the football team in 2017. He will have two years of football remaining once he complete his academic studies at MGCCC.

I've got Richards to Miami. I'll wait until/if Bruce keeps that in-home with Richt and his OV on the 29th

A lot of mostly meaningless blog chatter.

My attitude is this: you're either with us, or against us. If you sign on NSD great, thumbs up. If you don't, buh-bye, didn't know you anyway

Go Canes!

Don't know why Richards would choose Auburn of all places.

Two very average to poor QBs there and a coach who's an eight win season from being fired.

We'll see I guess.

Lur-ker

It's all about the action, boss.

That seems about right. T-Rob just left Auburn, and the coaching staff there is on thin ice. Richards should come to Miami, where he will be part of a loaded WR class. The competition will make them all better, like the old 1999-02 teams.

These commits to Miami also would mean a GREAT CLASS! Would just need a couple of OLs to round things out. CMR seems to be working twice as hard as the old staff did.

AfriCane

Bruce is getting annoying.

CaneRock

A combo of Bruce,Harmon, & Williams ain't bad...Harmon's HLs look legit.

AfriCane

I say we go to Nigeria to recruit WRs. Now those r some boys with swag. The sec don't know about those boys yet. So there's no competition .

CaneRock

AfriCane...why not Houston, I heard there's a lot of Nigerians there?

AfriCane

Watch all our Undrafted WRs this year go out and ball like Huns & the 2 cornerbacks with GreenBay Packers.

AfriCane

LOL CR! Now how did u find that out. But my guess is the UH & all the other Texas school got first dips on them. Just look for the jerseys with fucked up last names like ufomba, jekiri, odowgu, etc...

Hahaha! Nigerians are the best man, some great people come from there... and I know this girl from Nigeria, easily one of the most beautiful women I've ever met, super smart too. Her Dad is a dentist and her mom is a lawyer. Nigerians seem to always have positive attitudes and work their asses off.

Lur-ker

Chapelle says you needed to finish that off with: "...and they're so well-spoken"

AfriCane

The dude, those r all the positive stereotypes of Nigerians, along with great soccer players, most of them on European leagues
But then there is the credit card things.

Literally SMH

"At Miami, they took away some of my quickness," Chickillo said. "The only thing they cared about was me gaining weight. I feel like the Steelers gave me back something I lost. I'm having fun playing football again."

CMR - ACC Coach of the Year!
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | January 19, 2016 at 12:30 PM

Big-O is broadcasting from the senior bowl(?) this week. Today he mentioned that he spoke with several scouts about UM. The consensus was that over the last few years Miami players were among the weakest and most out of shape. They went as far as to say that Miami may have been the worst team in all of CFB in terms of S&C.

The second worst team, according to scouts.....Georgia.

Now before you start yelling that this is nothing more than the standard big O negativity, keep in mind that nobody has been higher on CMR than O. And also that while he may be negative, he's also been right. He did mention though that by all accounts the S&C program appears to have been significantly upgraded.

Regarding Richard Gordon, why did we ever use a tight end as a kickoff returner?
