Edge's nephew played one year of high school and had 9 Interceptions (I think). That is amazing. I never heard of that happening before.

Digging deeper:
Miami has the highest rated class in the ACC Coastal.
Next highest class is Duke at 28. UNC 33, VT 37, Pitt 38.

What about snelson? Has he signed? ESPN has us ranked 18.

Signed with UCF

I like how this class ranking wasn't inflated with just a bunch of recruits. Quality trumps quantity no more Walmart recruiting like golden did.
According to 247 10/18 recruits are 4 stars not bad at all
Posted by: Jsy | February 03, 2016 at 03:18 PM
If stars matter as much as they say, the Canes should be coastal division champs for 10 straight years

Stars matter but so does coaching which is the reason why the Dukes and uva, unc, vt can hang

decent class. time for coaching and winning to take care of future classes.
Posted by: USAFCane | February 03, 2016 at 03:38 PM
There it is:
Richt: "As you all know, it took me a minute to get the staff together," but said he didn't want to rush the hires for recruiting's sake.
Posted by: Go Canes! | February 03, 2016 at 03:39 PM
Lets walk a little before we run, we can start with walking all over the Coastal. We have the best class in the Coastal, the most talent in the Coastal and had the splash hire of the off season. MR needs to hold every coach to exceptional standards and cant be afraid to bring in quality coaches if he gets a chance. If Diaz can do what I think he can, no reason not to own the Coastal next year. Lets do this.

i think this class is way better then decent USAFCane.... would we have been better with some dt's and other ol's yes for sure but lets think about this for a second we got some playmakers in this class.
Posted by: UpNorthCane27 | February 03, 2016 at 03:40 PM
Rumph being shut out of his own school is a warning sign, hes on my radar.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 03, 2016 at 03:41 PM
Far better class than 2011.
Posted by: TonyCane | February 03, 2016 at 03:45 PM
Fsu signs 6 o-line and 3 dt's and Texas signs 5 dt's and we struggle to sign 2. This has got to change but we did sign 6 I- linemen last year.
Posted by: Herbieibis | February 03, 2016 at 03:48 PM
Exactly TonyCane

Interesting:
Richt notes that Miami doesn't have 85 scholarships yet -- "I think we're back to full speed ahead next year."
Posted by: Go Canes! | February 03, 2016 at 03:49 PM
The Probation ends in October 25th.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 03, 2016 at 04:02 PM
Mark Richt gives "credit to the prior staff" and says they did "a wonderful job"
Kind words, but if true, he wouldn't have the job right now.
Posted by: VfB_Cane | February 03, 2016 at 04:03 PM
I guess we can throw out the whole we could already be at 85 talk from prior years.
Posted by: Go Canes! | February 03, 2016 at 04:05 PM
Stars matter but so does coaching . . . .
Posted by: Jsy | February 03, 2016 at 03:29 PM
Great players are more apt to produce great teams than great coaches. But great coaches are more likely to recruit great players, I guess.
Posted by: nemo2002 | February 03, 2016 at 04:06 PM
I think he's strictly talking about recruiting, the rest is Christian charity
Posted by: Lur-ker | February 03, 2016 at 04:07 PM
I am sure we will finally see real football this fall!

I like what they did this year, considering we have new staff. Now go produce on the field, most important
Posted by: Jramos | February 03, 2016 at 04:19 PM
Interestingly Miami has more ESPN 300 recruits (10) than a lot of the higher rated classes. So if Richt would've thrown out offers to a bunch of *** DL and CB, he would've posted class ranked somewhere around 10-12.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | February 03, 2016 at 04:24 PM
I'm concerned about him as well, Dude.
Posted by: j.w. | February 03, 2016 at 04:36 PM
D Line to work with
DT’s:
Gerald Willis (DT) 5 stars
Kendrick Norton (DT) 4 stars
Anthony Moten (DT) 4 stars
Ryan Fines (DT) 3 stars
Courtel Jenkins (DT) 3 stars
Tyreic Martin (DT) 3 stars
DE’s:
Chad Thomas (DE) 5 stars
D-Jax (DE) 4 stars
Al Muhammad (DE) 4 stars
Scott Patchan (DE) 4 stars
Pat Bethel (DE) 4 stars
Joe Jackson (DE) 4 stars
RJ McIntosh (DE) 3 stars
Again, potential talent is there with the star rating these kids have. We have some star power sprinkled with depth. Some others schools may have more, some with less, the difference is coaching.
#Enough to win the Coastal!!!!!

Can someone prove or deny the talk we Canes fans hear about academic requirements for UM...vs...the SEC schools and others? I was just wondering if it keeps U from recruiting certain players we feel should be "in the mix " for? Just curious. ..thanks.
God's blessings on all of you and these young men and go Canes! ! !

Love this statement by Richt
" I want all of our FB alumni to feel comfortable to come back home" This is huge, get those guys on the sidelines again, like back in the old days. Nice to have a coach that will push to get the alumni to contribute.
