Lurk dawg...even next year and the year after that and after that there will still be knuckleheads like Byrd playing hat games not only with UM but almost every other school out there.

I mean who REALLY knows what Byrd was thinking except Byrd? He may have been planning to go to UM then went on the Tenn trip and got laid and paid with promises of much more to follow and said SEE YA!

Add this to your NSD jargon:

The first rule of holes, when you're in one stop digging, applies to fixing the problem you're way low estimating Mike.

It's more like half reaches that never contribute to unacceptable results with four or less future pros which will always get you beaten worse than any team in program history the longer you delay getting that fixed wherever it's starting our even finishing...

raizecane

Texas jumps from 32 to 11 per ESPN. I would say Charlie is doing just fine considering there was a rumor he would be fired.....

UMike

IMO the staff was fighting up hill for Byrd. IDK his family situation, the if Aime and his family are like family to Byrd, that plays a huge role. Ariz said he was genuinely unsure. IMO, in the end, family won. Cant fault a kid for that.

Jsy

I honestly have no worries about dline at this point. Especially with coach kool. If u look at what he was working with at Missouri he only had 1 really highly ranked dline recruit Sheldon and the rest were 3 star guys very similar to Martin. I'm more than happy knowing that we have a true teacher on the d line. And they guys we have currently are much better raw material that what he ever worked with at Missouri. My concern is really just CB it's like we have a million safety but few CB

SOUP

1. I hope that won't turn out to be the story of our 2016 season.

2. Otherwise, the bus will look all crashed and burned.

1. Hate to break it to you but it COULD be. We have no idea how bad it is or how many of these players that were Goldenized can be recovered. Going through Re-hab is a bytche.

2. I just got that bad boy outta the shop. She's all shiny, pretty and even has the "new car smell". But one more crash and I fear she's headed to the junk yard.

Waiting for Richards now. Any second he announces

Willie, I found a picture of Larry Scott when he ran into Smart Mark on the recruiting trail after he was let go;

THANK GOD ALMIGHTY!!!

Richards!!!

j.w.

Hmmmm, 1 reach O-Lineman - 1 Solid LB and 0 D-Tackles.

That's bound to show up come 2017. Look for some JUCO signees next year for much needed aged depth if just for numbers.

Have patience people, this will take a few years to re-stock this roster. Happy the Golden model days of getting 8-10 solid kids and nearly the same amount 2 stars that barely turned into 3 stars after getting U offers reach/projects with "potential" are gone.

There is that, but let's call this what it was: an arse-kicking. Its disappointing, and frankly all the defections make this experience feel a lot like the last 5 signing days. No, it wasn't all bad and the early signees make the class look good, but in most of the contested battles we lost. Not a good day, but if there is any good news its that we're not bringing in all the Golden wonders who can't play at this level.

You can't understate how important Richards is to this class. He is this year's Calvin Ridley or Travis Rudolph. He will help immediately.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Awesome about Richards, now we need a sportscar name for him.

Go Canes!

Someone must have forgotten to tell him not to sign here?

Get a Canes player on the line!

Go Canes!

Gigantic pickup.

Kid is going to be an absolute beast from day one

Go Canes!

Cane warning: Got the best WR in dade, the best WR in broward and the best WR in palm beach. Can't complain about that.

Herbieibis

Grade b! Thank u. Now let's hope for a few after recruiting day surprises. We aught to have 3 or 4 ships left. The herb agrees whole heartedly, that got rid of Goldie's teaches and dumped some non- hacking 2 and 3 stars, with some quality!

VfB_Cane

A quick look at WR:
We have Coley, Berrios, Lewis, Cager and Langham.
Today we added Bruce, Richards and Mullins (assuming he qualifies).

After that, there's Mitch Davis, Austin Pfenninger and Jake Romp.

BigWindyCane1

We got Richards. You all will see how good he is next year. Richards is the best WR I have seen play this year in Florida.

Don't be too alarmed by the numbers of recruits leaving the state, as long as UM gets its share. It may sound crazy, but Florida actually produces more recruits today than it did 10-15 years ago. I see coaches from all over visit, and the ask "who is that?" All the time. Michigan and OSU have more Miami Dade and Broward recruits than FSU, but FSU, Florida and Miami still have good players. The state is loaded like it has never been, and those big programs cannot compete if they cannot recruit here.

2017 will tell the story. The Canes will engage in these recruiting battles and win them. CMR will have an even bigger year, and more importantly, he will have players that can play, not just a class of stars.

SOUP

Hate to be the bringer of bad news but...

FSU signed 5 OL ranked 1, 5, 11, 25 and 32 in the Nation.

Auburn signed 5 top WR, 3 from FL.

Until we win we will continue to be screwed.

So far UF has signed just 4 of the top 50 players in the state of Florida. Miami has 10 and FSU has 8, according to ESPN RecruitingNation

Not your typical recruit. Not a kid. The 20 yr old is already gone. As far as I'm concerned, he no longer exists. Don't wish him harm, but don't wish him luck either. Bye *****

Jsy

So is the class pretty much complete now or is there anyone else we are waiting on.

Ohio_Cane

Today marks the OFFICIAL end to the Al Golden era. Everything from now on is going to be brand spanking new.

************************************

They are going to have a great OL. Cook can get 1500 - 1700 yards behind that line.

VfB_Cane

At one point, in the next two years, when we're in total command of the game, I hope Richt is going to call a play that results in "Testaverde to Irvin for a touchdown!"

Lur-ker

Richards makes this class very good, not great, but considering the coaching change, I'll take it.

As far as players leaving the state, doesn't matter how good we are, or how well we do on signing day, that is always going to happen.

On average we're going to have room for about about 25 spots plus or minus, so we are never going to get ALL the best players in Florida, or even close. Counts for South Florida too. How many players out of Dade Broward and Palm Beach County went to big five schools. I'll bet it's something around 40? 50? When we only have 25, or around that number, and we have to reach into other areas for offensive linemen or other position needs, we're just not going to get them all

Go Canes!

Heard this morning that the tri county area will produce as many D-1 football players than half the states in the COUNTRY combined.

Why are we supposed to be disappointed again?

orange 'n green in the vein

Raize, don't remind me of the chef...

Smart Mark made a comeback to finish off the morning, now to prune some more deadwood and thankfully new coaches still prefer their own recruits. Might have been left bloodied but didn't do the stretcher job so plenty of fight left in him I'd say by all signs.

TonyCane

Dredrick Snelson?

orange 'n green in the vein

Totally different serving on plate for the chef Noel, we'll see how he likes juking in the backfield thanks to shooting gaps disrupting his reads in the lane, fast linebackers usually can drag him down if he doesn't get into top gear to run by them which is his best asset so far on field at this level.

raizecane

^^^ I actually understood this ^^^ LMAO

orange 'n green in the vein

You got the alpha release of the app? I understand the paid version allows you to hack the Ford field scoreboard to insult the te coach on the home sideline. Totally worth the unlocking price the first time you use it.

WWIN

Don't sleep on Redwine at CB!

AfriCane

Y does Sam Bruce remind me of Ja Rule?

Jsy

Cuz he's short

Jsy

Actually I stand corrected he was short when he was not wanted and looking at osu but now that he's signed he's about 62

AfriCane

No Jay! I mean his face bears a resemblance to Ja. And even his speech delivery is hash, like Ja

orange 'n green in the vein

Unhealthy 2000 nostalgia is why. Why would anybody even remember the latter half of that question for any reason to begin with is the true puzzler?
