College football head coaches all across the Country will do almost anything to land the prized high school recruits. Some will even lie, cheat and steal to win the incredible recruiting wars that happen each and every year.
Not Miami's Mark Richt.
Very few coaches have the courage and conviction to do a back flip from the highest platform into their school's pool to show just how very, very cool they are to the young men that literally look up to them.
Miami's Mark Richt does.
Your Miami Hurricanes coach did just that this past weekend during his "Paraidse Camp" at the University of Miami. Don't believe me, well watch this:
Richt definitely hit his Mark on that dive. How can you not like this guy?
Now get off of your couch and support Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes!

Canes brothers, good morning!
CMR is bringing if nothing else. ...the strengths of family and a positive mental attitude. ..2 things sorely vacant over the past 12 yrs.
Winning fixes our woes..but, keeping positive in the face of adversity is going to show. ..
God bless you and Go Canes!

Barry:
Among the four players in UM’s best freshman class ever, shooting guard Bruce Brown internally is considered the most ready to contribute; he can shoot, penetrate and he’s already physically strong. Some believe he could be a college version of Russell Westbrook….
But forward Dewan Huell, guard Dejan Vasiljevic and perhaps center Rodney Miller also should play as freshmen… A natural two-guard, Vasilijevic has reinforced in offseason workouts that he’s a great shooter, with some toughness and polish and ability to play some point guard…
Sophomore center Ebuka Izundu has gained more than 15 pounds (essential for him to be able to move people in the post), has a nice jump shot and is ahead of where departed Tonye Jekiri was at a similar point in their careers. Izundu and Kamari Murphy will compete to start at center; Huell can play center or power forward and will obviously grow into a starter eventually…
Ja’Quan Newton, who replaces Angel Rodriguez at point guard, has spent a lot of time refining his jump shot…
UM has one more scholarship and would love to add another ballhandler. Miami is among the schools on the radar for Buffalo sophomore transfer Lamonte Bearden but is not a favorite for him.... Davon Reed, UM’s most accomplished returnee, could play small forward if San Jose State transfer Rashad Muhammad seizes the starting shooting guard job.
“He's a very different athlete from [now Washington Wizards guard] Sheldon McClellan,” Jim Larranaga said. “Rashad is a shooter/scorer. Can really shoot the three. Has very clever moves going to the basket. His area of emphasis is to get better defensively, become a rebounder and get stronger.”...
UM is one of five finalists (with Oregon, Pittsburgh, Butler and Creighton) for four-star Vermont Academy shooting guard Christian David (a top 100 player) and one of four finalists for four-star Norcross, Ga.-based 6-9 power forward Lance Thomas (with UF, USC and Louisville). Rivals.com ranks Thomas as the 111th best player in the 2017 class.

Spoke to a parent whose son is being recruited by UM, FSU and UF. After comparing CMR and his staff to the other coaches, he says it's not even close. CMR, his camps and the whole vibe given by this staff is unparalleled. The staff appear committed, concerned, caring and competent (4 Cs).
CMR has created all this buzz and interest without winning one game or having an indoor facility. I think they will win 10 games, make it to the ACC championship game and break ground on an indoor facility this season. Once those wins start coming in and that indoor facility is built, recruits will be fighting to get a visit. A fence will be erected around South Florida. J

That's the key right there.
We will have to fight to keep them out.
And I have a back flip to prove it!

Excited about the UM basketball team this season too. They can win the ACC. Kamari Murphy is the team captain this season, and he is the emotional leader. The Canes will miss Angel, but the others will step up and fill the void. The Canes have a lot of weapons and Coach L and his staff know how to develop players. The Canes will be at least 9 deep to start the season
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | July 19, 2016 at 11:11 PM
Just a question....why does the in door facility matter so much? Playing in the heat and humidity used to be a plus for us (and the Dolphins)...yet training in AC would seemingly negate that advantage. So why are we so set on that? Or is the IbisDome only to be used when there is a thunderstorm?
Posted by: TonyCane | July 19, 2016 at 11:23 PM
TonyCane I guess U didn't read where they are losing out on several practices Yearly by not having one also Miami is the Only Power 5 School to not either Have One or Building One. Tighten Up My Man. Don't Be That Guy Stuck In The Past. In the Past Their Were No Rules about if There was A Thunderstorm/ Lightning within 15-20 miles that U had to stop practice or Games. They Do that Now. I mean He'll the Our First Two Games Last Year Had Long Delays. How Many Games are Delayed and U asked that Question Really? 1986 Called and they want their year Back!
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | July 19, 2016 at 11:36 PM
Will the indoor practice facility be built on - and effectively replace - the outdoor practice field? If yes, then I guess the IPF will give new meaning to the phrase "all in".

IPF will be 100 yards (full field), have coaches offices and a new weight room (upgraded). Exactly where it's going, I don't know
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | July 20, 2016 at 07:09 AM
LOL Terrance...that clarifies it. Honestly I had missed the details as to why it was so important (i.e. Thunderstorms). Makes sense.
Posted by: TonyCane | July 20, 2016 at 07:39 AM
Ok...secondary question. With the canopy up at the stadium, would they still delay for lightning?
Posted by: TonyCane | July 20, 2016 at 07:40 AM

Posted by: TonyCane | July 20, 2016 at 07:40 AM

Yes. The canopy only protects the fans from sun/rain. If lightning has a way in (open area), gotta protect the fans and players from it.
