Wow, Washington is absolutely pounding Stanford.

23-0 with 4 minutes left before half.

Actually the motorcade was being escorted through the downtown rush hour crawl with a bevy of Georgia's finest blazing a trail and they jumped off at what I assumed was the hotel exit.

Raize, I hear you on that. Got nailed 2 years ago on the way back and I was awarded the status of "super speeder" for being 15 over the posted limit. Making my better half drive this time.

I realize L'ville beating Clemson is the trendy pick....but not so fast my friend

Posted by: Lur-ker | September 30, 2016 at 01:52 PM

I agree with lurker here. Everybody's getting caught up in the Lamar cool aide and I get it, he's having a great year. But at the end of the day deshawn is a better QB and pro prospect period. So those two cancel eachother out In a way talent wise. But here's where the major gap in talent is, the whole rest of the team especially in the trenches where Clemson is so far and away so much more talented it's ridiculous. Not to mention linebacker and secondary which is again a major edge to Clemson. Running back and receiver another major edge to Clemson. And the games in Clemson! So imho I think Clemson rolls.

Mark from Atlanta

Take a few shots to Richards or Coley deep early. .open up the box...then methodically get the run and underneath shizat working on their D...
course I'm no coach. ..just want to strike early and often to free up those youngsters on D to introduce themselves to the rest of the college football world!
God bless you and Go Canes! ! ! !

herbieibis

The Herb says this, we can't let Da Jackets control the clock because if they do this could be a squeaka, 24-20 but if we can get them into passing downs, then we roll 34-17. Depending how we play this could go along way in validating our Defense.

ACC college football championship game will be played in Orlando. Which is now all the INCENTIVE Miami, Florida needs to face Louisville come December. huh Yeah, yeah, yeah. One of Miami, Florida's goals is to win the Coastal and what not.

TheeMackJones

PARASURAMAN

" This game represents yet another step up in competition. But once again, itโ€™s still an opponent Miami should handle. Mark Richt has plenty of experience stopping the GT option offense, and the Canes defense is playing at an elite level. On the other side of the ball, I really like the Miami skill position mismatch. The Canes also had extra time to prepare. I just donโ€™t see this being competitive. Georgia Tech will pop some plays and also make some plays defensively, but overall, the Canes have way too much for the Yellow Jackets. "

Mr. P is an amazingly ASTUTE Cane fan for all the right reasons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I understand a majority of Cane fandom DON'T give a krap about Mr. P. huh

Finally one more notion. I dig how Mr. P and I have the same score prediction ( One point difference. Big deal! ). And I posted my tout before even visiting Sebastian's Pub. duh

TheeMackJones

I would love to see Diaz force the Bumbling, Stumbling, Rambling Wreck to PASS! In other words, if Miami TAKES AWAY/limits the Rambling Wreck's " bread and butter. " It will be a long day for Johnson's triple-option game. Simply because his offensive squad DOESN'T have a passing game to speak of. huh

Oh, and one more thing. I believe Miami will force the Rambling Wreck to put " 8 " in the box to slow down Miami's run game. Which will open up Miami's passing attack. duh In other words, I look for Coach Richt and offensive staff to establish the running game tomorrow. Think keeping the Wreck's offense off the field, and giving Miami's defense a break, from time to time. huh

The bottom line: Miami is 4 REAL this season! Contrary to what the college football pundits ( And a few Cane fans. ) say about their soft non-conference schedule.

Miami, Florida 38

Red state Ohio Cane was shrewd and wagered some serious money when the line was practical. duh Because I received some INSIDER information just the other day, and the WISE GUYS are going to DUMP a lot of SERIOUS money on the Canes " late! " huh

For example, as of Thursday night the Canes were favored... - 8. And if my INSIDER info' is correct. Then that LATE MONEY will escalate the point spread to either... -9 or -9 1/2. OUCH

Oh, and one more thing. It literally takes MILLIONS of dollars to move a line a " hook. " huh So you can imagine how much serious money it would take to move a line " one point. "

Bruce playing this year seems like a HUGE long shot to me. In fact, that's pipe dream territory.

Again, we really don't know the severity of the fracture, but it's looking like a redshirt year for him

Dionte Mullin's might play, though
.

BigWindyCane1

That's the thing about the Bruce injury. We really don't know how serious it is.

Posted by: Lur-ker | September 30, 2016 at 09:46 AM

The Canes recruited the best freshmen receiver group in the country, and got the best receiver in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. I would love to see Bruce on the field this year. Bruce has missed a lot of games and practice so it will be hard for him to get back. Bruce can run routes, get yards after the catch and can even line up in the backfield as a running back or wildcat QB. I would also like to see Mullins on the field, if he is prepared. He is a dynamic player, but I don't know if he has picked up the plays or the playbook. Richards looks like a future #1 receiver. Richards does the best job (and this includes Coley) of getting separation and giving Kaaya a target to throw to, even when he gets jammed at the line. Richards has only scratched the surface of his potential.

thirstybuzzardcane

We never heard anything more on Bruce. Depending on what board your on some say he broke his leg and some say he injured his knee. So my question is which is it? Bone injury which I'm hoping it is or a ligament injury which I'm not?

Posted by: NicKane | September 30, 2016 at 09:25 AM

It was a compound break with the bone intruding the skin, causing ACL and MCL tears. Don't worry though, his hairy feet are still intact.

Lur-ker

Everything I've read says it's not a knee, just a broken bone.

But individual patient records are protected by HIPAA, so to get specific medical records it would have to come via patient waiver. The school won't release specifics on patient records themselves, so they won't give the specifics out.

Bottom line: we don't know for sure, but I don't think the knee is involved.

But don't think it's not serious. It is a bone fracture. And he's already had a leg fracture in high school. I'm not sure if it was the same bone or not. That would make a difference.

That's the thing about the Bruce injury. We really don't know how serious it is.

SJMPARMAN

I moved away from the Dolphins coverage area in 2004 for professional reasons in 2004. I think that part hurt at first but now that I see this team play, and what a coward Tannehill is, I am glad I don't live or die anymore on Fins football. I mean, you get the defense to jump offside, and instead of slinging it forty yards up the field, you throw a 2 yard pass to a covered receiver on 3-6? Really? Really? We won't see any change in the Fins until they make the QB change.

Lur-ker

Since day 1, I've said it. Tranniehill does not have the brain power to be an NFL starting QB.

If you ever watched that HBO show years ago that focused on the Dolphins preseason, it was easy to tell.

I'll bet you his wunderlich was abysmally low.

I don't think it is a bias against Miami thing with game day. It is just a fact that they begin the show at 10:00 a.m. If it is an 8:00 pm game, where they going to shoot it and will there be a crowd there? That is the problem. Miami fans aren't going to be at the stadium. Where will they be? Game day needs a sea of fans. It makes the show palatable because all the bs on there is hard to take if there is no crowd getting amped up in anticipation of Corso's pick.

Posted by: SJMPARMAN | September 29, 2016 at 09:45 PM

They will broadcast from south beach during the week. Game day will likely be at the stadium. A crowd will be there. The other venue they're considering for game day is Scarletts. Where there is always a good crowd at 8am on a Saturday.

thirstybuzzardcane

College Game day was at Louiville/FSU game. That kickoff was at noon. Maybe they'll do that for our game against FSU

Go,GoCanes!

We both lose-noon
One win, one loss-3:30
Both both win-3:30 or 8:00

I'm guessing 3:30 though there are only a few good games that week. Not a lot of prime time matchups.

If both Miami and Noles take care of business this saturday, Gameday is almost forced to choose South Florida as it's next location! If they find a way to choose another venue then it will confirm media's bias against University of Miami and it's entire community/city.

Checked out the games for Oct. 8th and there is really nothing else better than Mia/FSU especially with both being ranked in the top 10-15.

The Canes are favored in the GT game, and also currently favored in all of their remaining regular season games. Matt Porter:

According to a source, five true freshmen who have not played will not at Georgia Tech and thus, will be eligible to take a redshirt year.

They are: quarterback Jack Allison, offensive tackle Tre Johnson, tight end Jovani Haskins, defensive lineman Tyreic Martin and safety Jeff James. They are doing so for different reasons.

Allison, who struggled in the spring, was a four-star recruit and is considered a likely successor to Brad Kaaya. UM has no reason to rush his development. Johnson (6-7, 280) needs to add weight and strength. Haskins (6-4, 250) is a former high school quarterback who is playing the scout-team role of Georgia Techโ€™s 5-11, 190-pound Justin Thomas in practices this week (โ€œHeโ€™s trying his best,โ€ Mark Richt said). Martin was a candidate to play before his preseason MCL tear. James, the cousin of former UM running back Edgerrin James, played one year of high school football.

Another freshman, highly touted wide receiver Sam Bruce, appears unlikely to play this year after breaking his leg earlier this month. However, a source didnโ€™t say definitively he will not play.
